Holy crap that is awesome. I sold all of my MK Storm figures last year, but this makes me want to start buying them again. Incredible. Check out that throne!

I was worried Storm was gonna go with the rubberized body (like they did with the Golden Axe Death Adders) but I'm glad to see they are not. While I still have the previous Shao, I will be grabbing this one as Storm's durability issues has got better over the years since that previous release.

Very impressive figure, but a lot of people on Facebook shit on the announcement, complaining that Storm keeps releasing figures of the same characters over and over while other announced figures (especially female ones like Morrigan, Kitana, and Sheeva) languish for years with no updates.
Can't say I don't agree with the complaints - they're 100% called for - but yeah, the new Shao Kahn is pretty awesome-looking nonetheless. |

No female characters? Didn't Mai, Juri, and Nakoruru just went up for preorder within the past couple of months?

He's great looking but man, I really want a Mileena and Skarlet to go with him.
Too bad McFarlane is only making MK11 Joker and Spawn variants anymore. |

Nakoruru was up for pre-order a few years ago and took like a year to come out. Which makes me think we'll see Mary and Mai in a couple years sadly. |

About the female characters, I could have sworn they had Kitana and Mileena prototypes (maybe even colored?) up for display four or five years ago. What on earth happened to those two? I've never seen them shown or mentioned in Storm Collectibles booths in recent events.

Looks really cool but I'm not sure if I'll have enough space for the throne so I'll probably just settle for the regular release.

I'd be more curious to know what happened to the MK2 Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung and Jax sculpts (for which I can no longer find the post for Jax) that were teased and no one seems to remember. I have a feeling that all these missing figs have more to so with licensor approvals which can really hamper or cancel the project altogether (like the recent SHF ASM Spidey debacle) as opposed to Storm simply being slow and having too much on their plate. Lord knows that they cranked out the vast majority of the Golden Axe cast (with villains) in a short amount of time. |

Because this keeps coming up every time a MK Storm figure is announced, yes...Mileena and Kitana have been shown off at shows multiple times over the years, including a more recent show last year where Storm debuted their prototype Morrigan and Juri gray scale sculpts (Juri of which has since been solicited.) A Nightwolf was also shown on the same circuit.

I have a couple of them, including Tyris that I picked up late last year, and the quality is great! |

I'm so torn about this figure..1st off the throne is amazing but not what counts on this release.
Shoa..is uggghh just ok. Again I think Storm again misses the mark. The details are soft. The anatomy is very 90s toybiz. The armor (sculpt, not paint) is not up to snuff with companies like Mezco, Mcfarlane, Diamond, some other 3rd party companies (which I still consider storm 3rd party). If the throne was sold seprate (not sure if it is) ill get it. But this figure is (though I'm sure for alot it is amazing) disappointing. I hope they don't mess up the X Goro they are making. How do you go from this anatomy wise.. To that figure . Its just bad sculpting ability. A lot of you may not see the difference and see a "muscular" Shoa and are like, They nailed it..but they really didn't! Last edited by T0ySick; 01-30-2023 at 11:54 PM.. |

Nah I hear you about Storm's sculpting yielding mixed results. I personally found their first Shao Kahn way too muscular, so while I'm a little happier with this one, I can sympathize with your sentiment.

I'm still surprised this many years in and Storm hasn't even solicited or hinted at a SF2 Cammy.
The only one they made goes for a ton now and not many like it. I hate having to use my SOTA Cammy with Storm SF figures. |

Agreed that the body type is off from the game design. They should have used a sculpt similar to SF 2 Sagat and that would have looked great with the added height too, but they probably opted to give people a chance to buy the same beefy Shao Kahn body from last release. Not really digging the armor design on this Shao Kahn and will probably pass.

Shall Kahn isn’t human, so who is to say it’s wrong anatomically?

Have to complain as well.
WHY bombing out Deluxe Figures with useless Stuff like the Throne just to push the Price? I can make an Exception with Liu Kang and Dragon. But I really wanted to have a MK3 Shang Tsung Fighting my Liu Kang at the Shelve, rather than an overpriced Shao Kahn. Give us these teased MK3 Kabal and MK6 Deception Scorpion. Or better MK 11 Hanzo Hasashi. We ALL know, THIS would be the Real Cash Rain for Storm Collectibles. |

Must not have liked Street Fighter Alpha then…
Hyper realism is a legit reason to give an ultimate baddie who is super muscular super muscles. Let’s face it, ALL the Storm Collectibles figures suffer from hyper realism. That what happens when you are making toys of products from the 80’s and 90’s where exaggeration was the norm. I think it looks fantastic. 100x better than the classic version. Remember, the main market for Storm collectibles is China. This is what sells in china. Therefore, this is what they make. If a few westerners on a forum don’t like it, they have McFarlane as an option. I still see his Shao Kahn cooling on clearance shelves at my local target.
