That Akuma is really, really bad. How did they not see how bad that is? Who approves these things?

I was waiting on my Wife's family to get here before we head out to the beach and was just screwing around on facebook and they kept erasing comments lol. I made a joke about him having a mane and they erased my comment. I asked ''why is my comment gone and why are you erasing other comments of people?'' and got banned from commenting period lol.

Apparently, they only like comments that say how great their stuff is. That might have worked with their other awesome stuff because it was 99 percent positive but with this Akuma, it's 99 percent negative. At this rate.... there won't be any comments left lol.

While I don't agree with SC deleting criticisms (after all, if it's constructive, where is the harm?) people need to throw them a bone and realize that this Akuma is not their fault, but Capcom's. SFV has some of the most boring, uninspiring, and flat out awful character designs in the game's series. People need to blame CAPCOM on Akuma looking like this...not SC because that is exactly how the character looks in that game.

Disappointed though that it is Akuma (but understandable due to the character's popularity and the easy reuse of parts.) I thought we would have seen a finished prototype of their Alex by now, and I'm still holding out hope that Juri is on the horizon.

Most of the comments they erased wasn't attacking Storm but was just saying they didn't like the design and those started disappearing. They do seem childish erasing comments period. I mean unless someone's being vulgar or cussing, erasing what they said is plain wrong to me.

I agree about the Street Fighter V designs sucking. Bison, Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy and a few others look good but lord I hate ken and Akumas look and I don't like Guile's Air Force custome with the sleeves rolled up.

That being said, I hate the Street Fighter IV looks worse. They way their faces look weird and all roided out.... man.

I miss when Ken and Ryu didn't make Arnold look like a wimp. Ryu and Ken eat steroids for breakfast now.

NECA does the same thing with comment deleting, and they even go as far as to throw shade back at anyone who openly criticizes them, but no one ever calls them on it. That's a discussion though for another thread.

The characters in SF5 that look good are the ones where CAPCOM stuck to the legacy looks with minor tweaks, such as Bipson (all they really changed was his hair color and added the "skirt") Cammy, Karin or Chun (pretty much unchanged,) etc. Some if the new characters are alright, if a bit flat (Laura and Necalli come to mind,) but it's the ones that CAPCOM got a wild design hair up their butt kill this game's look for me. Ken, Birdie, Rashid, FANG, Kolin, Ed...and that's to name a few...they're awful.

I liked the art style of SF4 for the most part, although I do agree that the muscle mass could have been toned down just a bit. Chun Li's thighs have nightmarish proportions, and don't get me started on the silliness that was Hugo. I did work for certain characters though (Timmy Hawk is my main if that answers some questions,) but overall, it could have used a little more SF3 and a little less anime in terms of body mass.

My favorite SF looks were the semi KOF looks that came out of SVC Chaos, as the majority of the SF cast were done in that SNK style and ended up looking great for it.

I wasn't aware Neca did that but it makes sense considering what I've heard about Randy on there.

I've heard he's resorted to name calling fans before.

Both Ryu's are disappointing in my opinion, and not only none captures his look in the game quite right but they also dont "look cool". Which is quite annoying, in its own right, cause I was expecting for a definitive modern Ryu figure.

Meh, at this point I have placed all my hopes on Storm's Cammy as the SHF approach seems to be very anime-like, completely contradicting how she appears in recent years.

I m still on the fence about Akuma. He seems ok but I already own the SOTA version so not sure if its worth purchasing.
I have high confidence in Storm doing a good Cammy, now that we saw how well the Chun-Li turned out. The only thing SHF had is the great articulation, and when Storm matched them on that front with Chun, the superior face sculpt is just icing on the cake. (and this is coming from a proud owner of SHF Chun, who loves posing her daily)

Add that to the fact that SHF Cammy seems to be very limited in lower-body articulation, and I have high hopes for Storm Cammy to absolutely dominate her SHF counterpart.

And about the Akuma hate... I'm pretty sure most people are just hating on his look in SFV by Capcom. There's nothing that Storm can do if they've specifically licensed that game. Same with Ken's hair.

Except Randy doesn't handle the Facebook account. I read all the comments on NECA's FB regularly for my daily dose of humour. (and to be reminded that while the Earth is 75% water, it's also 95% complete idiots) I've only actually witnessed them delete a handful of comments, and those were all very vulgar, racist, or otherwise hate-filled aimed at other commenters. If they deleted every comment that was negative towards them, there would be 99% less comments.

Akuma's face sucks. And that's not completely the fault of the source material, yeah his mane looks laughable, but the face was still okay for Akuma-standards.

This headsculpt though... it's just bad. And it's embarrassing to see that they delete comments over this instead of taking the criticism seriously.

Put in the effort, delay the figure if you have to, show new sculpts, make money. But don't deliver garbage and expect everyone to love it no matter what.

The body looks good, and I love that the sandals come off. Always hated him wearing sandals while fighting, so that's a plus.

The head I don't even mind, it's that damn mane that ruins it. He looks so goofy and he's the laughing stock on their facebook. About 70 posts and almost all of them are hating it and calling it a lion and etc.

Kinda of sucks having an Akuma that is a big joke.

Capcom..... get with the picture, quit your weird obsession of weird designs and weird shit. This is why Mortal Kombat is killing you in sales.

To be fair, I think that they designs from Mortal Kombat have become a little bit too intricate and busy over the last few games. MK9 had my favorite costume designs ever for the series, but even I felt like they were a little overdone at times, which is why MK2 will always hold a special place in my heart. The designs were simple, practical, and got the point of the characters across. They still look good on the game and translate pretty well into the cosplay world as well (as they should, since the game was done with live actors and all...)

I'm not sure what's the deal with some of Capcom's design choices in SF5 outside of "!!SO ANIME...GRRRR!!"

I'm pleasantly surprised that Storm has gotten this far. Six figures already + Alex! It's good that they are making variants with Hot Ryu. I would love to get the classic looks for various characters. LOL! I wouldn't mind a "Bonita" Laura either!

I assume Storm is going to put out Vega with a shirt, Guile with the white Air Force costume and Balrog's new look, like they did with Ken's new look and Lion Mane Akuma.

I hope Storm's license can go past SFV to include all of the SF games or at least get the license to SFIV (since everyone was in it).

It's funny you mention the designs about Mortal Kombat X because I was saying pretty much the same thing in another forum.

I even go so far as Mortal Kombat 9 went overboard with the costumes too. I don't like how much detail and design is on Scorpion and Sub-Zero, I much prefer the simple outfits from Part 1 or 2. I hated that they gave Johnny Cage the tattoo in Part 9.... wtf.

He's my favorite character but they ruined him with that tat.

Well, I'm okay with "Akuma Matata". It would be great if he came with an alternate normal head though, because he looks perfect from the neck down.

I guess the newer designs were evolved forms of the original ninja palette swaps.

Isn't Akuma getting / didn't he already get a "classic" costume in SFV? With the regular hair?

If there's enough demand, and unless Capcom strong-arms Storm out of it in their arrogant belief that fans just LOVE the SFV redesign, Storm can just make a classic version as a con-exclusive, like they already did with some of the recolors.

A classic headsculpt at least?

I'm sure if there's enough buzz, we could get some classic alternate looks. Let's hope so. I'd love to get their classic looks rather than these newer SF5 designs.

Well Storm has gone on the record saying that they want to dive deep into the SF roster. But that'll be later down the line.

The new Akuma design is not good and rather unnecessary, but I think it looks more like long hair and a beard on the game model...the translation to the figure didn't work out so well. It straight up looks like a mane.

I can definitely see what you're saying based off of the first photo, but the second photo looks almost identical to the head they sculpted.
