Ok the Tantive IV set is freaking awesome! Yup gonna need at least 4 of those, maybe more. Finally rogue one Vader! And these 5 poa sets are fantastic. So the poa sets look like 2 sets are Best Buy, 2 sets are amazon and 4 sets are everywhere?

The new face printing on the 5poa is gorgeous. Makes me sad they are “vaulting” poa after this. I wish we could have gotten some rise of skywalker 5 poa love.

For real? They're just the same figures that have been released multiple times already, that everyone seems to hate.

For real. The faces look great, there are new droids and of my 2,000 Star Wars figures, most are 5poa. 5poa can fill in dioramas relatively cheap. Not every figure needs 32 poa. The amount of Star Wars toys we will never have because of its absence is shocking. We would have had 20 or more mandalorian figures by now. I love the vintage collection, but I’m at the age of not playing with toys. I don’t need figures to do karate moves. Just fill in my scenes.

Yeah, nothing against 5 poa actually, that period from 2015-2016 was a great time to be collecting them. And yeah, the face printing does look nice in those shots.
I'm just saying some of these figures have seen multiple releases even within the last 12 months with people usually being grumpy about it if anything. And some of these sets are uninspired...bounty hunter and trooper sets are just straight up re-releases, as far as I can tell and that Fett isn't even the most recent 5 poa Fett. And TFA 5 poa has been on clearance seemingly everywhere for years at this point so I can't imagine the First Order set being a big seller.

Eye of the beholder I guess. This hits my nostalgia. This is the end. For now. Of 5POA.

That modular Tantive IV playset is awesome. Finally Hasbro catches on that modular playsets like this are the best way to do it. Now they need to do something similar with different Death Star sections that can connect to each other, with generic modular Death Star hallways. All they need to do is 6 sets (a control room, detention block, trash compactor, tractor beam control section, the abyss Leia/Luke swing over, and the Emperor's throne room for ROTJ), and a separate release of a generic modular hallway/blast door to buy multiples to connect together to each other or the different death star "rooms". I think that would be the better way to go for film accuracy/scale instead of doing a single huge Death Star playset that just merges all these sections together and compromises scale/accuracy of each setting (like what Kenner's Death Star playset did).

Wait a minute... so they introduce a brand new and improved Black Series Clone Trooper body a couple months ago... only to use the older one a couple more times for reveals after it??? C'mon, Hasbro! Start using the new Clone body widely!

I definitely see this and the Carbon-Freezing Chamber as positive signs we could see a modular Death Star some day. Maybe it could be a combo of Haslab (scene-specific sets like Detention Block, Trash Compactor, Tractor Beam Control, & Throne Room) with non-specific set pieces like hallways, blast doors, control rooms, etc. being made available separately?? As for the latest offerings, I'm all-in on the Tantive IV set.

Last edited by tierneygreen; 08-21-2020 at 01:50 PM.. Reason: I forgot to mention the Tractor Beam control. That definitely must be an option for any Death Star Playset configuration

Maybe that petition did some good. Between the Commander Wolffe recently released and this upcoming Hondo and that three pack of Arc Troopers with Fives and Echo; things are definitely going in the right direction again with TVC.I hope they put out a Ghost Crew in TVC soon, as they are supposed to appear on The Mandalorian.. maybe they'll be under that sub category and designed to look more like the actors for Sabine, Rex, Ahsoka and Bo Katan. Either way, I hope Hasbro keeps it up like this, maybe broadening the packs released to get some more variety; but even at the minimum...it's been good.

5 POA is good when tackled right! They have to be characters people give a crap about though and not posed stock straight, even a bend at the elbow adds so much to a figure!

Crap. Crap. And more CRAP. There is literally NOTHING I want from this announcement. A $50 wall? NOPE. People with 3D printers can produce better. Shoveling more 5POA to shelves? NOPE. Some stores STILL have the last ones and just won't let them go to recycling. The multi packs are absolutely horrible. Now they are calling ren a Sith, and he is taller than Darth Effing Vader. The figures overall just look like crap. NOPE. Then hasblo decides to name their sidious lightsaber after his Original Trilogy name. Trying to tug at our nostalgia. NOPE. I might have been interested in the TVC Vader if he was on an OT card. Trying to name more garbage after rogue one is ridiculous.

To the whole "presentation", I say NOPE. More $$$ for my wallet, and for the toy companies that are actually WORKING for my money.

Umm.... You ARE aware that all of the multi packs are 5POA, aren't you? I agree though, 5POA is a POS.

I think a set using this Fett in various colors...Kenner, prototype, Nelvana, etc would've been a great way for Hasbro to finish off 5 POA.

I really like that hallway playset... I would probably buy two if I ever saw them for my Joes. Just need a computer command room playset now with a bunch of chairs and computer terminals.

For some reason they've gone back to the 2014 Saga Legends sculpt, ignoring the Last Jedi two pack version as well the Movie Heroes Battle Pack one. Both of which have working holsters.

If you got four of those Tantive IV sets, you could box in an area and make a hangar bay for A-Wings or add in all the Hoth no playset gear and make a medical bay... there's a LOT you can do there.

Personally, I want to get a bunch of Hiya Aliens and make a Xenomorph invasion of the Star Wars universe!
