I found that some of the joints (esp. Foot Soldier) feel scarily flimsy/breakable to me, with some overly loose/overly tight joints (uneven tolerances) on various figures. One of Splinter's ankles was frozen. Tried a hair dryer, freezer, and eventually hot water to pull the foot off and pop it back on again, so that I could get it to move. But I had to stress the thin joint way more than I'd have liked in order to do that.

And this is not to mention things like their Super Cyborgs. I've heard the BAT is good, but my Megatron was covered with surface scratches all over the bare plastic, like somebody had cleaned it with a steel sponge, and my Op had areas where the paint had come off and were repainted poorly (you could see the gobs of paint).

I had two Ultimate Lion-O's at one point. On one, the head wasn't glued together properly, leaving a gap along the side. Neither one had a face that didn't have some sort of notable paint issue.

I had a Reaction Panthro where the belt cat logo was smudged off, and S7's customer service guy, instead of allowing me to exchange, blamed me for opening the figure (the bubble was fogged and I couldn't see the extent of the paint rub)...the 1st and last time I contacted S7 about anything.

They want to charge premium pricing? No problem. Give me premium quality a la Figuarts.

Joint tolerances and paint inconsistencies (sometimes poorly or thinly applied paint) are my general gripes with S7, across multiple lines (Filmation He-Man, T-Cats, TMNT, Reaction, etc). This isn't years ago. This is like last year.

Granted, these problems aren't unique to them, but for what they charge, I expect a bit more consistency. Or maybe I'm just consistent at getting the bad batches.

Who knows? Maybe Silverhawks will be flawless. If so, that's a win for everyone.
I agree. I have purchased 3 Super7 Ultimates figures and all 3 have QC issues. My Filmation He-Man had a huge glue spot on his face and it was like pulling teeth to get Super7 to exchange it. I didn't even bother complaining about the warped leg on Skeletor. I bought the v2 Lion-O and it has several paint issues. I would have gotten more Thundercats, but the quality vs price issue put an end to that.

Premium prices should be reserved for premium products.

Thank you. I eventually bought multiple Ultimate Lion-O's just try to find one with a decently painted face, and I still had a hard time after about 4 copies.

I only bothered S7 customer service once despite issues with a number of their figures in a number of their lines. Eventually, I was just like, F*&k it, and sold everything that was made by this company (except for their M.U.S.C.L.E.S., which you'd have to be completely incompetent to screw up).

Anyway, I'm complaining way too much. Gonna stop here.

I am all over these, cannot wait for delivery.

Buzz-saw is my favourite so I'm stoked he's in wave 1. Torn about the yellow vs green thing but not enough to complain about.

I have a legitimate question though:

Who the heck are SilverHawks, LLC??

Blurb:
SilverHawks, LLC’s sole purpose is to bring back the magical world of the SilverHawks to fans of a new generation, while staying true to the roots of the original content and viewers for years to come. Please visit partlymetalpartlyreal.com for more information.

Sadly, the site doesn't provide more information. Did they buy Silverhawks from WB or whomever owned the property?

I'm out. Way too overpriced, having to pay for them well in advanced without seeing the actual product, no guarantee they're going to do the entire main crew for hero and villain, no thank you.

They do look incredible though if they actually look like the CG renderings.

it used to be wb yeah. feels like a real obscure license to pick for any sort of 'investment' series didn't even finish airing in most countries when it was 'new'

I did a little bit of digging. Looks like Brian (Super 7) owns Silverhawks... maybe? Assuming that's what Silverhawks LLC is/does?

Either that or he created a subsidiary to gain the license before then licensing back to Super 7?

Silverhawks llc

Very cool if he bought it, I approve. Why bother with licensing if you can procure the IP.

Time for me to go out and find some 80's IP's to purchase.

either 4hm's sculpt quality fell off a cliff or s club 7 is paying pennies on the dollar for 4hm to churn these sculpts out.
These are all brand new sculpts, they all are lately. I don't know why everyone is acting like they're re-using MotU bucks for anything new they're doing.

I think you can see by looking at their other lines that they're probably going to do several waves and they always mix in characters. Have they started and not finished any lines lately?

And also just preorder them at BBTS, Dorkside, or wherever else that doesn't require you to pay up front and can easily cancel the order. I don't get why people think the only way to get these is through Super7 themselves. These aren't new features to their line, you've been able to preorder them elsewhere for no money down and for the same price since 2019.

If they would only make a Silver Hawks 4" line I would buy the whole damn line, even in a boxset. There are so many 80's and early 90's properties I would be all over in that scale. One can dream...

WOW. I was not aware he was on record promising paint that was "as shiny and metallic as possible".

We need some clarification. That will determine if I pre-order them or not.

I would bet that they're going to do Reaction figures as well, close enough to 4".

The buck is being phased out it seems but they're still using it, Iconic pose Conan just came out like 2 weeks ago and warpaint Conan looks to have it too (maybe Thulsa doom as well under his robes). I always get the impression when people complain about the buck they're talking about the stylized muscle body AS WELL as the antiquated articulation. And in that regard it's still the same as before even if the aesthetics are a little different. The wrestling figures they're doing are a great example of that.

With the preorder dropping today, I would be shocked if he doesn't do another YouTube interview within the next couple of days addressing that.

Like dukefett aluded to, I'll proabably preorder just the heroes from BBTS and see how it plays out as release gets closer. See more actual in hand product and interviews.

Look nice and those villains are pretty meaty, but $249 for the 4 of them is out of my price range.

Never like doing a pre-order based on a render.

Dang, I guess it is true that S7 owns the Silverhawks IP. Kinda sucks that it didn't result in them easing those prices a bit but I get it, they're in business to make money, etc, etc.

Anyway, I'm in for Mon-Star...and Quicksilver as a placeholder. Because I honestly feel that a shiny version of him will be announced at some point between now and when these figures finally hit. And if not, that's fine too.

They're actually doing a 3 month payment plan if you're getting the whole wave (or more) at Super7, first time I've seen them do that. I guess the higher prices have made them reconsider that.

I thought the new 55 dollar price point would have been for the Transformers due to the radically different molding, but nope. Mon-Star is the only deluxe (Mumm-Ra ish) figure for the wave too.

I'm catching some cheating from the renders.

MonStar's elbow articulation clearly doesn't flex as much as they're showing in the renders, since you can see his lower arms clip into his biceps.

Same with those very limited-looking crouch pieces on the Hawks. Unless they use softer material, I'm not seeing much forward articulation on those.

They do look great, but I want action figures, not statues with tiny movement ranges. Will wait for actual prototypes.

I could maybe swallow the price if I could see physical prototypes. It's too much money to shell out just based on some renders. I want to see what the paint actually looks like and how the articulation is.

If I didn't really, really love Silverhawks, my wallet and I would have already checked out. As it is, I'm going to hold out until the last possible second to see what they show before I make any order.

These look terrible for $55 figures. The paint is so flat. They really need to step their game WAY WAY WAY up to compete in a $55 market space. You're talking figma quality prices. At best these are worth like $20 with those terrible paint apps.

Damn. You're right. They are totally cheating with Mon-Star's elbows. I had to go back and look, but it is absolutely there.

I am assuming the crotch pieces are gonna be rubbery like their other figures, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Yep, just gonna wait for the prototypes or not get them. Whichever comes first is fine with me.

This is annoying. They have two art styles here. One is a regular sculpt, and one has this attempt at cartoon lines. I don't want him to have those weird wrinkle lines, especially since this doesn't fit the rest of the art on the toy, nor the age of the character, but there's no way to be sure about which we'll get in a pre-order based on renders.

The price is bad enough but the delays on Thundercats alone was enough for me to bail on the line. Silverhawks and Thundercats are my 2 favorite 80s properties

Monstar looks awesome but the paint on the other 3 are criminally matte.

I did preorder from bbts. I’m not loving the price but it’s this or nothing. These seem like a natural extension of thundercats so I’ll dive in.
