Ummm… what are you smoking? I just did a google search and it pulled up images that look just like this toy. I don't see any of your issues. Especially not the "t-rex syndrome" (which is honestly rude, since a t-rex could lift more with it's arms than a human could). You can be anti-Super7, I can understand that. But this is a fantastic looking version of Tygra, and could easily stand proud on anyone's 80's cartoon characters shelf.

well, sadly i cannot post images yet. but since you went the ''habits'' route. how about you show a single image from the cartoon where tygra have the same eye-shape as in that image of the figure. tufts that small.

and traps and lats that look like they belong on a completly different torso. or i could save you the time and just outright tell you that i'd be waiting until infinity for you to produce those images because unless you are going to draw them yourself they do not exist.

the legs are also to short for the rest of the body. same thing with grune.

mumm-ra's proportions make sense, look at him lion-o or panthro all have proportions that make sense throughout. tygra however does not, nor has he ever at any point in the cartoon or art based on the cartoon art style looked like that.

Whatever. I don't care about a SINGLE thing you just vomited! It looks just like a 3D translation of the animated look. That's all. You can choose to disagree. I... DON'T... CARE! Yup! I stated my opinion! Yay for opinions! Even better, I don't care to chat with you any longer and you aren't worth potentially upsetting a mod with naughty language, so … off to ignore you go! Yay me! *victory dance*

the text under your name. and yeah, opinions are great, but it's very much possible to be such a thing as objectively wrong.

like in the case of what the shape of something is, you might look at a perfect circle and say it's actually rectangular (you'd be wrong) but you could do that.

same thing applies with the eyes here, based on all art from the cartoon they have been painted and sculpted wrong.

They're all on the MOTUC body so everyone is going to be bulky. Also the Mezco Tygra was a tiny bit bulkier than Lion-O and no one complained...except for me cause I thought Lion-O was too skinny. Im glad they veered slightly off-model for the eyes lol...I wish they did that for Lion-O. To each their own but I think Tygra looks great...even with the stylized MOTUC look, it's a huge step up from the Bandai figure IMO.

why are you comparing it to the bandai figure? that's essentially putting the bar on the floor. might aswell use the ljn from the 80's as benchmark then.

this is a line based on the cartoon art, that is why grune look the way he does, same for panthro, jackalman, mumm-ra (both mummy and everliving) and even lion-o so if every other figure they have released is based on that.

then that is what tygra should look like in terms of likeness, and he does not, nor is there anything about the face sculpt what so ever that invokes the personality of tygra.

the face is to narrow and angular, his tufts/mane is to small and has the wrong shape to boot and the eyeshape is flat out wrong.

these are 45$ per figure, and outside of mumm-ra the everliving the sculpts on this wave does not even warrant a 20$ price mark.

Not quite. S7 said they're pulling from the LJN toys as well as the cartoon. So now you will have to find something else to cry about....wasn't your original rant about Tygra being too muscular?
Most things can be scrutinized to death but at the end of the day, it is very clearly the character it is supposed to be and, IMO, he looks great. Love the two whip types too.

Well said! I'm warming up to these. Been watching a few 80's cartoons of the Thundercats and appreciating them a bit more. Don't know if I have the room for another series, however. Might just get a few of the 'cats and call it a day.

not for likeness, only accessories. they are already more than 10+ character deep (that we have seen sculpts of) all of them? guess what based on the cartoon, in terms of likeness there is no ljn influence what so ever.

most of this was sculpted by 4hm when mattel still had the license. ljn influence will be limited to such things as coloration variants, metal shield-glove contra fur and so on.

Images from the cartoon, with Lion-O in frame even for reference. Eyes look right, "small tufts" present. His arms/physique seems pretty similar to Lion-O and match the figure... not sure what the fuss is about.

I just hope they add all the paint details to the boots and fix the way his hands look. They don't seem to match the color from his face and it doesn't blend very well aesthetically with the arms. His suit also has 2 blues that blend a little too much when they shouldn't.

eventhough those images are blurry as hell, i can tell you that in neither of them does he have the same eye-shape as they sculpted on him.

and even if his 'tufts' are smaller there because of it being a group-shot they still have the correct shape (the ones on the figure do not have that shape) nor are they proprotional to the rest of the face.

also, why are you using images with multiple characters present? all of that was drawn in the 80's (you know, by hand?) which means that in frames with more characters present they'll have less detailing than in shots with just one. especially if there is movement going on in the sequence in question.

those are the frames that got printed for merchandise. the frames with the most detail, they are the ones that got used for cover art for rentals and such in the 80s

not what i wrote, and it is relevant to ask why you pick images with less detail when there are ones avaliable with considerably more detail in the shots.

and fact still stand, even as blurry as those images were the eyes do not look like the ones on the super7 figure. nor are they as prominent to the rest of the face as they are in those images.

Since you have these special images with "more details" that prove your point how about you stop whining and actually produce them? It's not hard to upload them to Imgur and paste them back here.

I'll wait...

Or keep whining and gasbagging.

No that's ok.....he's already written a freaking novel on the he-man.org forums. I can't knock him for being persistent but, IMO, it's highly misplaced.

here. get yourself sorted with stronger specs or lasik if you cannot see that there are pretty clear issues with the design. (those are the official show model sheets used for conistency during the animation, plus a comparasin showing the differences in facial sculpt quality between panthro and lion-o and tygra) however you might imagine tygra looks.

or continue chatting shit, i mean you clearly got that part down pat.

(oh yeah, the other character in the show model sheet is bengali by the way, tygra is the top one. since you seem to have no clue what tygra looks like i figured it worth it to underline that)

exellent to see you are such big thundercats ''fans'' that you know what the characters even look like. seen the show much yeah? i mean the fact that tygra looks more like bengali is totally not an issue? right?

Only person here "chatting shit" is you buddy. You literally didn't post anything related to "more detailed images"

So still I wait... but I'm sure you'll just respond with more gasbagging and dig yourself even further into this delusional hole you've created.

But anyway, to actually get back on topic instead of feeding a delusional troll, Tygra's updated images are great aside from his hands still not blending that well into his arms. Glad they touched up the colors of his suit to make it more accurate.

Picture below. The cape looks really good though. Probably worth the additional cost by itself. And he has some nice accessories as well - the Sword of Plun-Darr and of course, Ma-Mutt.

Also he’s an inch taller than the other figures.

Dude. You are acting incredibly rude, uncouth and social unacceptable. Did you honestly think you'd get anything other than negative attention by steamrolling in 'ere and acting like a total dickwad? You're only 17 posts in and I'm breaking out the popcorn to watch your ship burst into flames and careen into the dirt. Those aren't rhetorical questions. Seriously. Whatcha thinkin, man?

EDIT: Dude's Tom-dickery aside there is another reason Tygra's traps look a little large: The angle of the photo.

no, i posted the actual model sheets used for the cartoon. which all imagery for the cartoon for tygra is based on. to further highlight the fact that s7's ''tygra'' looks nothing like tygra.

https://i.imgur.com/baGZvJH.jpg

^ here's another one.

https://i.imgur.com/veqeD5F.jpg

^ that's what a detailed cel looks like.

and no, you quite clearly based on your post have no clue what so ever what tygra looks like. (and as i have said twice now, the eyes in your two screens look nothing like the ones on s7's sculpt. neither shape nor size) same for the shape of the mane, nor is that mane small in relation to the size of the face in those two shots.

Pre-ordered Tygra and Grune. I noticed that there are going to be reaction figures as well. Have those been shown yet?
