Dear god ! Bananas is freaking huge! Preordered the entire set. Yes the prices hurt, and yes super7 has got to fix the tiny weak hip joints, but damn just perfection.
Brian gets it. He just freaking gets it. |

I kinda hate this wave. Mostly because it's all figures I never had as a kid and never would have bought, save for Triceraton.
Was expecting something like Rat King instead. These are REALLY deep cuts. |

I'm really annoyed that Bananas/Guerrilla doesn't come with Larry the Lemur!

I'm pretty perplexed by this wave. The repaint Metalhead Mike makes sense for them to save costs, but when Triceraton is the closest to an anchor figure in the wave, something's off.
I appreciate 1 or 2 deep cuts per wave, but it really seems like there should be a Rat King, Napoleon, Wingnut, Fugitoid, Pizza Face, and/or Tragg before most of these. IDK what led them to changing the name AND design of Sgt. Bananas, that really doesn't add up. I'm not aware of him being a 3rd party character, and if so, the point of this line should preclude them from making him at all then. IDK, cool figure regardless, but just... confusing. |

It's such a swerve to suddenly veer away from the Playmates toy style that has defined TMNT Ultimates and included a comic character. So, I'm thinking there had to be a reason not to include Sgt. Bananas and instead use a similar character who was never had a toy. Maybe Sgt. Bananas was slightly too militaristic? As someone who is very much into this line because it is updating the original toys, I'm pretty disappointed this isn't Sgt. Bananas and don't plan to purchase Guerilla Gorilla, to whom I have no connection.

There are zero anchor figures for this wave, which I guess speaks to the health of the line that they can do that. But I was definitely expecting more heavy hitters after each of the last waves have been full of them. Part of me wonders if they are trying to not cross over with NECA. |

So I'm guessing this pretty much confirms Super Rocksteady next wave?
That does seem kinda kickass when I think about it. |

Overall a good wave, and it's nice to be finally getting to some figures that I will pass on. I don't really need the Robotic Bebop and Metalhead Mikey.

All of these people complaining about character selection don't understand Super7. Its not a mainstream company. They go off the rails, lots of times and that is what makes them Super7. They made McBain ReAction figures for goodness sakes.

Yeah pretty much...they do their own thing and go deep at times. Still can't believe they gave Destro an alternate head & accessory based on a 3-second gag on the show. Or their Optimus Prime coming with a basketball and surfboard.

It's a fine line with expensive collectibles. Look at Hot Toys. They used to diversify and cut deep. Now they churn out more Spidey's and Iron Man's than Hasbro (at least it feels that way).

I'm thinking they just wanted to do a deep dive never had a figure character first, and later on they'll bring out the classic Playmates toy. |

I can't think of one wave of their Ultimates that has gone totally off the rails.

I would bet they'd do a proper Sgt. Bananas in the future and just did this Guerilla Gorilla just to do it. That's what Super7 does. Who's the anchor figure in the last wave? Slash or Surfer Michelangelo? I'd say the anchor figure will always be the turtle, so that's Donny here. The triceratons to me were as big as other villains, at least in toy form for me, so they're the second one. I didn't even remember Sgt. Bananas or the Robotic Bebop before seeing these. |

The Samurai Leo and Surfer Michelangelo figures were great as a kid and I instantly preordered both.

I hope it's a one-off issue and not something that will prevent us from getting any Playmates character that Super7 wants to make. |

So they couldn't make fan favorite Leatherhead larger like he is in most depictions because the original toy was small, but they can make ultra obscure Guerilla Gorilla giant-sized even though it's bigger than his classic figure would've been?
