The line isn't going away? Lol. I wonder if there is any chance figures we actually need get the released again in Avengers. Harder to find stuff like Vision or just older stuff new collectors will need to catch up.

I tried posting a question in the live feed. Anyhoo, will Avengers' figures articulation remain the same as MU? Or will we see the IM3/Wolverine crap-type articulation?-which I hope not.

Well , would be ok if it pans out like the Hasbro reps stated.... BUT and a big butt, when has anything that Hasbro stated at one of these shows turned out as stated. (Not since Vonner left )They are either lying through their teeth(dont like getting booed) or are completely clueless. Keep our fingers crossed and maybe we get a decent line. Have an idea that Abomination, Abomb, Aurora, Northstar deal is going to be a real mess.

Yeah, those variant figures could be very hard to get. What bugs me is that they kept telling us the line sells well, it is profitable, MU/ML do well. That is what we heard last year and at Toy Fair. Now they say MU/ML have a stigma with retailers as something that doesn't sell. Did that just happen or where they just posturing before?

They have the stigma because retailers ordered a TON of the first wave and then sold them but the re-orders were still packs with half the same figures so they sat on shelves and were not restocked again. I do not blame the retailers , I blame who ever at HASBRO decided to have 4 different repack cases of the first 2 waves of ML last year and SCREWED everyone getting new characters. They decided to just keep repacking series 1 and 2 in various cases and when the "Best Of" and Series 3 came out, pegs were still full of old stock so retailers passed. MU is about the same way, they will sale if they don't repack 75% of a case with old figures.

I don't know if the design team was at Toy Fair but Toy Fair is mainly for retail buyers, so I think Hasbro is definitely going to make it seem like their lines are hot sellers and have high potential to sell well.

Whereas this is SDCC and Hasbro doesn't have to dish out stuff to convince retailers to buy their stuff. Here they can open up more with fans.

Sounds to me that everything about MU currently will stay the same, all but the name.

ML news is CRAP. Black Cat looks great and even though I dont care for the Guardians I can see why Star Lord is a good choice (getting all the guardians out for the movie). But yet another Cap, and "movie" Red Skull (red skull isnt even in winter soldier), aim soldier is ok but I personaly dont care about him, and dont even get me started wth Ultimate Green Goblin BAF, seriously, WTF Hasbro? Ive waited a whole year for a decent sized BAF and this is the shit we get? Some people might like him but I think its a waste of a perfectly good spot for a better BAF, like Strife.

Now they tell us Movie figures will be part of Legends, well with CMB's having such great success lately and an average of 3 movies a year comming out Im willing to bet the comming Legends lines will be 4 movie figures and 1 comic figure.

Hasbro keeps crying about how legends has a bad rep with retailers, well as I see it its all your fault, how about you stop shooting out a cap, wolverine or spiderman in every single wave that is only good for warming shelfs, or atleast dont pack 3 of those figures per case and only 1 of the figures fans really want. You argue its because those figures sell more than not so well known characters, there are a lot of other known characters out there (instead of making a bartoc, tigershark, klaw figure) how bout a good Cyclops (Jim Lee version, or do we have to wait 10 years for yout to listen to us to get him like it happened with Jean), a better Magneto, a Ms. Marvel that doesnt look like crap, a Rogue that doesnt look like a man (cause the way things are looking with variants the Wolverine Legends Rogue will never see the light of day), quit making excuses, fans are the ones who buy these figures, listen to what fans want.

I dont collect MU but I know a lot of people do, and Im willing to bet its all going to hell with MU with this whole "Change of name" thing. Again, thanks for listening to the fans.

At least my wallet will get a break cause out of all the Legends Figures shown, Im only planning on getting Black Cat, Agent Venom and Moonstone.

PS What about the Iron Man Legends Line, in the showroom they have a Rescue and a Movie Mandarin Figure, is that it? I doubt they are keeping the line alive just for 2 figures, give us the rest.

Very disapionted with Hasbro right now.

I think the case assortments are what hurt them at retail. One per case of 4 new figs and then more Ghost Rider/Hulk/Spidey. Their own fault. One thing that no one's mentioned yet: Hasbro said that when the Avenger's line starts, all figures will be one per case. I believe I read that correctly? So maybe retail will be a bit sparse because we're all ordering cases.

1 per case may work well, because to me, case packs killed the Avengers Walmart 6" figures and ML wave 3. Archangel was a complete PITA to find, hell I didn't even really FIND that figure, I asked a TRU employee if there were more ML in the back(because guess which ones were on shelf, nothing but Wolverine and Cap with that big Prime Ultraverse looking guy that's supposed to repainted as Sentry) and LUCKILY, this time around someone actually took the time to go in the back AND pull a case out!

As for Avengers, I feel lucky to have found Hulk and Loki. Hawkeye? Never saw him. I DID see a TON of Cap and Iron Man though! Gee if they were so popular how come noone bought them?

Hasbro's casepacks for 2012 sucked, the ones from earlier this year were no better. Casepacks are what killed the lines imo. With Cap and Iron Man packed 2 per case, the Avengers Walmart line was DOA. ML wave 3 same thing, you only knew the wave hit shelves if you saw Cap and Wolverine. Everyone else didn't stay on shelves long.

This 1 per case thing is a step in the right direction.

In these parts, all except Cap/Iron Man/Thor were SUPER rare... and then just one day it was like every single store got flooded with the rest of the line all at once. Now you can't find anything other than Iron Man though.

e.
But even last year at SDCC they said several times that the lines sell well and retailers love them. My point was just that if this problem with retailers not wanting the line happened in the last year then maybe it had more to do with the product they shipped or how it was distributed. It seems they think a year is about as long as they have before retailers will not want their stuff and they will have to change the name to get product out there. I'm all for an X-Men line and stuff but if the problem is systemic how long can rebranding work? I guess it works with Star Wars and new movies help to move product so hopefully we will get more stuff to add to my shelf for years to come.

I've gotten into imports more this year and would love to have more money to buy stuff like 3rd party Transformers. Less figures that I would actually want could be a blessing. As long as good figures with sculpts and articulation don't stop.

I agree, case packs have always sucked, they argue they pack the cases that way because that way they'll sell the entire case because kids wont buy archangel but they'll buy a cap, sidey or wolverine, but then you see the shelfs and they are filled with wolverines.

Somehow scalpers arent too bad here in Mexico and Ive happened to come across at least 6 archangels in different stores that no one is buying (granted beside each archangel Ive seen at least 3 Wolverines 3 Caps and 2 Hyperions)

Look at the Wolverine Legends line, Hasbro at it again; cause it's supposed to be a Previews Exclusive Wave now right? (this would mean its suposed to be sold mainly for CB stores and specialty stores, not Retailers) and yet the case comes with 3 wolverines, 2 cyclops, 2 Sabretooth and only 1 Emma, The last Emma was crap (everyone will be trying to get this Emma)Im betting this Emma is going to be a real PITA to get, specially since looking at it from a collector's point of view this Sabretooth sucks (the select one is far better, even toybiz one looks better), Cyclops is ok to have 2 per case, but 3 wolverines (and its just a repaint of the x-force one). Why not just make the case even, 2 of each.

If from now on they are packed 1 per case including each variant, Im up for that.

How would the 1 per case thing help you find that Avengers Hulk you used in your example? You still wouldn't have been able to find Hulk, and it would have made finding Thor, Cap, and IM equally hard to find, if not moreso.

First, that makes buying a case easier. I buy cases sometimes and I still have a Spidey, Hulk, and Beta Ray I can't find a home for. 12 new figures means (hopefully) 9 to 12 new figures I want.
Second, all figures at retail will be distributed equally. Now that doesn't stop people from buying your favorite figure but it does control how many Thors and Iron Mans are out there.

True as a kid I did not know this(case assortment) and I always hated that I could not buy the toy I wanted but they were a bunch of stupid batman and spiderman. I like the idea of 1 of each fig per case less shelfwarmers or they can use common sense and see which figure people really want, they can just visit forums for free.

I'm not a big Marvel fan, but a couple of the reveals look like they'll be pretty tempting for me. Most especially the Legends Venom and Thor figures. I passed on the Legends version of this Venom, but I'm glad, as I think this one looks better. He looks just a little bulkier, and I like the look of the tentacle things. The new Captain America looks pretty cool too.

I'm really glad to see that the Thor sequel's toys seem to be retaining "full" articulation. Hopefully that ends up being true for the Captain America sequel and the GotG movie.

it's incredible to me that hot toys is able to produce more armors from iron man 3 than hasbro.

i mean, it must cost hot toys a hell of a lot more to make and produce these figures, and they cost a hell of a lot more as well.

and all we get with hasbro (6 inch legends figures) is the mandarin, war machine, iron patriot, and iron man.. it makes absolutely no sense to me.

and i still haven't seen wave 2 of the legends toys in my area.

hell.. at this point, i'll just wait for the avengers 2 toys.

It costs them more to make, and they also overcharge consumers the shit out of them as well because they're marketed towards adults. I'm sure Hot Toys makes waaaaay more per figure than Hasbro does per Legend.

yeah they do , 1 legend figure roughly here is about £20.00 just rounded up to highest number which may include p&p So we have i dunno 6 per wave which is £120.00 and a hot toys costs erm £150.00 so they have made £30.00 more than Hasbro with 1 figure instead of six, but like you said for adults not childern
