Yeah the sites were actually not as slow for me as they were for just the Clonetrooper and Battle Droid.

Where do you sign up to get notices the moment these become available to western customers?

I'm tired of missing the boat on good products. I need reliable e-alerts. Canadian source is preferred due to brutal foreign exchange and cross-border shipping, but I appreciate any suggestions.

Addendum: A lot of people do their pre-orders through BBTS. Fine. But if anybody has a back-up plan, I expect that others like me would be interested to hear it. Rgds

None of the import sites I know of have email alerts for preorders, BUT the SH Figuarts line is good b/c they tell you exactly when and what time. I'm copying the rest of this post from my reply from a similar question on reddit.com/r/actionfigures :

Quote:
If you keep track on this sub, I really try to keep everyone in the loop like in this thread since I'm so invested in this haha. Figuarts generally have a big monthly preorder day right at the beginning of the month. That's what the preorder earlier this week was. The preorders last night were for Force Friday. Figuarts occasionally have mid-month preorders, but it's not as common from the last few months anyway.

This is the website you'll want to check near the end of the month It'll say like Sept. 4 Announce Items, which means that's the day (in Japan) that they go up for preorder. And they go up for preorder there at 4PM. So just make sure you're on the right schedule for that time.

The Tamashii website is pretty great, tons of pictures, so it's a cool site to check out anyway.
Also note on the Tamashii website that there's a month thing up top, so closer to October, click on the 10 and there should be something there.

That does look like a good page to watch. Thanks DF!

And I'm glad to see Figuarts Maul getting re-released. I had no idea how popular these Tamashii figures would become. The market knows a good thing.

Looks cool, but I want to see the movie before I buy anyone else from it. I'm already taking a chance at Kylo being the next Darth Maul.

Do I read that placard right: "2015 12" (December)?

Phasma's cloak does NOT look like soft goods. That is a shame, and a surprise.

It shouldn't be a surprise. Darth Vader's cloak isn't soft goods and neither is Kylo Ren's. SH Figuarts doesn't do soft goods from what I've seen.

That is one of the reasons why I think the Figuarts are better, they don't have cloth capes. I've watched some reviews on Hasbro's Kylo figure and he has friggin threads sticking out and the hood doesn't have the shape of a hood.

Yeah, it's taking me some time to come around, but I'm getting there. They really are superior figures.

Thanks. I appreciate these 'heads up.'

I wonder why the Shadow Trooper warrants a figure before other characters that are comparatively better-known and more popular. I'm not complaining, as it looks good, but I stand with En Sabah Nerd: we need a classic Snowtrooper, preferably with tripod e-Web Cannon.

Are the eyes supposed to be white on that Shadow Trooper? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of wearing black to blend into dark surroundings? If the eyepieces are transparent plastic, maybe the 'white' is just a photo glitch. Or maybe the figure being presented is an unfinished prototype.

Becuase the figure is already made, so all they had to do was recolor it.

Will Phasma be available in the USA? Of will Disney not allow it?

I guess Luke will come without the DV head.

The Shadow Trooper is a show exclusive, that's not going to be mass produced or available at the normal retail channels.

It will be available through importing sites like Amiami, HLJ, CDJapan, Anime-Export, etc. There hasn't been any issues with the Figurarts line being available for import.
