Critical Role has announced several exciting new partnerships that will lead to a bunch of new merchandise. ComicBook.com has confirmed that the popular web series, which focuses on a group of voice actors playing Dungeons & Dragons, has entered into licensing agreements with Funko, McFarlane Toys, Penguin Random House, and Ripple Junction. That means that we'll soon see a ton of new Critical Role merchandise, including Funko Pop! figures, action figures, novels and books, and more apparel soon. The licensing agreements mark a major expansion of the Critical Role brand, which began as a live-streaming gaming show on Geek & Sundry and has grown into a major brand.

I have, but have never actually seen it. I'd have to imagine it's similar to watching someone else play a video game. I know tons and tons of people really enjoy that, but it's just not for me.
At the same time though, I'm not going to say no to some cool D&D figures, if that's what McFarlane intends to produce. |

It's more like theatre, since you have the actors playing in character, but yes it's not to everyones taste and even if it is watching a three or four hour episode each week is tough.

Um... how can they do toys for something like Critical Role? It's not like there are actual characters designed for this thing. It's just them playing live.

It's a bunch of anime voice actors playing D&D and speaking like their characters.

Their characters have formal character designs that they used for their comic and have mini's created by SteamForged Games. They had a very successful kickstarter (over 10 million) that succeeded to fund a season based on their first campaign characters, Vox Machina, that is in production status with Titmouse Animation. They are well known voice actors who know how to tell great stories. And yes, I'm a Critter.
