I know there are a ton on these boards...

I was wondering about your favorite moments in game and outside the game.

For me...I started being more stealthier...Hiding and stuff...really just to see how good I am at it. I am ok...-_-... TO TALL TO HIDE....

I own every game and every version EXCEPT FOR Ghost Babel...I also have a few collectables like 12" Solid Snake and 12" Naked Snake.

What about you? (Pictures to stimulate, included)

Also have another story.

Me and my older sister (28) sit down to play video games. I tell her about Metal Gear solid 4. She knew of the series but has not seen 4. We start a new game up.

The commercials pass and it starts the opening sequence with Snake in the truck heading for the battle field. The words that came out of her mouth were...

"IS THIS A VIDEO GAME????"...totally priceless. Makes me want to shake Mr.Kojima's hand!!

Truely best video game series around.

seems every time i start the game (especially with MGS1), i feel it's a movie with the gaming element just squeezed in. i don't mind the long cutscenes, in fact i enjoy them as a sort of intermission for my hands.

i also applaud mister Kojima on his inventive Boss characters (granted MGSPW is excempt for using the Patriot AIs), because of how colorful they are.

one of my hopes is a new remake of the first Metal gear game set in Outer Heaven, naturally.

i really want to get my hands on the playarts snake, might be my first MGS figure ever. still working on finishing peace walker but really finding it enjoyable, i don't really kill any of the grunts except those in the boss battles when i need to, i sorta treat them as pokemon LOL

LOL that's how I feel about the grunts too! I try to Hold-up as many soldiers as I can. I beat the first part of the game and now I am working on the Extra Ops...really difficult though...

I hope that Medicom tackles a 12" Solid Snake and hopefully another toy company see's the excitement of 3 3/4 and produces super articulated figures.

I acually had the whole line a a whole figured out (I know, dreaming...)

WAVE 1
Solid Snake
MGS2 GRU Soldiers
MGS3 EVA
MGS4 Meryl

etc. etc. and so on. Esencially giving the oportunity for each game to have osme figures.

My favorite moment was either in MGS 3 in the final battle against The Boss, and the whole speech she gives(the music was very haunting) but I also really, REALLY love the Microwave Room in 4, there is just something about that part that sets the game apart from every other game every created. Everything from all the other games had lead up to that part and it was a very emotional scene, with Snake crawling as Raiden and the other fought off the onslaught of Outer Haven baddies.

My dream line is a 3 3/4 inch line of MGS figures.

I agree with you Eisen, I really hope they remake the NES Metal Gear, even if it's just for PSP. Peace Walker pushed the limits of a hand held device, and is probably my favorite game ever now. The ending at the end of Chapter 4 is chilling... But Chapter 5's ending is even more so... I can't get enough of PW.

Metal Gear Solid in 1998 came around at just the right time for me. It was exactly what I needed at that time and have been hooked on the series ever since. I'll never forget the first time playing it. I was so into it, the sneaking around was so intense. I remember someone else being in the room watching me play it, they asked a question or something, and I was so into the gaming moment that I answered with a whisper ( so the Genome Soldiers wouldn't hear me ). There are so many moments of that game that have stuck with me all these years. The last words of the Foxhound members were quite something. I'll always remember the first time I killed Sniper Wolf, and after watching Greyfox tear up that hall full of soldiers, I was so scared to go and fight him. I could go on forever talking about how great that first game is.

Of course I was pissed when after an hour of MGS2: Sons of Liberty I was no longer Solid Snake but some new punk named Raiden. I got over it though.

Next for me was MGS3:Snake Eater. Again, the right game at the right time for me. It was everything I needed it to be. One of the the greatest scenes in the entire series comes from this game. "Life's end, isn't it beautiful ? It's almost tragic .... ". I think you all know what I'm talking about.

I skipped over the Acid series and Portable Ops, no PSP, but I did watch Peace Walker on youtube. Again, I feel it was what it needed to be. Big Boss's story is so interesting to me.

MGS4 was awesome. The whole game from start to finish was the perfect ending to the series. The return to Shadow Moses and hearing that beautiful MGS1 song again upon approach was just epic.

Collectable wise, back in the day when I was ready to dump loads of cash into a Metal Gear collection there really wasn't much available. There still isn't much available. If they ever were to make a complete line of figures, playsets, and vehicles in the GIJOE scale ( 1/18 ), I would have several of every character and vehicle and armies of every troop type for every game. This will never happen though, unless the series gets developed as a weekly animated show geared towards kids so as to drive sales of the figures.

As for making custom figures, I've been gathering parts over the last 2 years to make every character, vehicle, and troop type. And the dream project for me would be to dedicate a garage or very large room to recreating the entire facility on Shadow Moses Island.

MGS4: Guns of the Patriots

Snake: fox--

Liquid: DIE! *faints*

Snake: ...

*liquid suddenly stands up*

Liquid: Not this time, Snake!

*runs towards the submerged Outer Haven*

the next scene is two old men chasing each other to the sea ( i'm taking this all from memory so i could be wrong).

man, i remember Liquid taunting Snake while running, made me chuckle a little. the Shadow Moses Stage was definitely one of the most entertaining. it just had all these little nostalgic easter eggs

I've been very impressed with the entire series, even the original Metal Gear was great for its day. But the first MGS is the one that's stuck with me the longest. I played part of MGS2, but wasn't as into it as much. Then my interests in gaming in general began to fade and I stopped buying new games or consoles altogether. I still kept up on the gaming news and still do now.

Unfortunately, I have yet to try out any of the more recent MGS titles, mostly because I don't own the systems where they are featured. Maybe one day I'll buy them to play, or they get a re-release on a future system that I do own.

As for toys, I got all of the 6" McFarlane MGS toys and one of my favorites is Vulcan Raven. That figure is massive and his "gun" even moreso. Granted, they're not very poseable, but that's McFarlane. At least the tradeoff is that the details on them are amazing and they are loaded with accessories used in the game.

One of these days I'll try to get them all together and snap some photos.

MGS3 is a must play.

Big Boss is epic.

Does anyone think it would be easy to recruit a militia? Like...Outer Heaven?

PMC's are something that intrest me.

I don't know how easy but maybe we could get one going!? With a beard and a mullet I kind of look like a younger Big Boss! Let's do it!

I know fantasy is fantasy but...I always think about Black Water...companies like this.

It's just amazing to have something as a personal military company that operates outside of military jurisdiction.

Miltiares San Fortier is simular...right? except it's a militia to fight off the tyrany of all the worlds mistakes. I.E. Nucular stuffs.
