This won't make it any easier to get NECA 7" versions now.

But $45 to $50 each seems steep. Wish it said how big these were.

Is it me or does Superman look like Nicolas Cage? I really wish NECA had the license for these, but looks like a lot of their attention went into Armored Batman, but at this rate...I'll just be getting the MAFEX line for the movie.

Well, unless these figures are absolutely JAM-PACKED with accessories, I don't think they're gonna be in the traditional scale as other DC Collectibles figures for that price point... I'm guessing maybe a 9-10 inch scale? Anyone have other thoughts?

Definitely not something I was expecting from DCC. I would be interested, but the price-point is a bit of a turn-off, and some of their sculpts are... bad. Like Superman, who to me looks like he's a guy wearing one of those cheap Halloween muscle suits.

They look like they're super articulated and each of them do come with several accesories, so I doubt these are much taller than 6-7" scale. I think DCC might be going for the people that collect Figuarts and whatnot.

The only one that's really tempting for me is Harley. Not the best likeness of Robbie, but the figure as a whole looks like a really good representation of her look in the movie.

Should be interesting to see how well these sell, and how long DCC can keep these going.

I thought the same thig, its possible that the only way DC Collectibles could make these figures is if they made them in a bigger scale because of licencing issues (mattel usually owns the licence for 6-7" figures, thats the reason Neca could only release the 7" movie based figures as exclusives and packed with the dvd not as retail items, Mezco gets arrround that because of the cloth fabric and Mafex because they are imorts) if that's the case I can understand the price but if they are the usual dc collectibles scale the price is way to steep IMO, before I read the price I got exited cause I thought could finally get good movie figures that can fit in with the rest of my 6-7" figure collection for a decent price but at $45 a figure Id rather get a Mafex or spend a little more and get a mezco 1:12

They look great tho (most of them, superman and lex look kind of weird but the rest look amazing)

Hopefully we'll get more news on these this weekend at ToyFair (here's hopping the prices were wrong)

I was praying that DCC would start making movie figures because the Mattel figures are crap and the Mafex & Figuarts are too expensive.......aaaaand then I saw the price. Dreams crushed. I can see $30 but they aren't going to compete well with Mafex and Figuarts at that price point. Why not just buy the latter, which seem to have better sculpts, articulation and a ton of accessories.

"These were created using 3D sculpts and are based on their appearances in the films"

This is what is really starting to go wrong with the industry, this method produces very mixed results. Look at McFarlane's Walking Dead figures. They look nothing like the characters at times, where as some characters look great.
Also, great articulation on these but it does take away from the sculpt a bit. I'm happy that DCC is offering movie figures, but I would've liked to see a classic figure in here. I agree with Joe as well, gonna be harder to get NECA 7" figures now.

It really depends on the size these are. They're way more expensive than anything 6" to 7" DC Collectibles has done. We'll know Saturday, I guess.

I don't get that price tag unless they're far larger then I think they are.

45 bucks for a 6/7 inch figure is a bit pricey, even for a DC diehard. They would have to super compete with SHF in articulation, paint and "feel", which will be hard. From these shots, they look like really well done DCC 7 Inch figures like the Arkham series stuff.

Now, if they are bigger than that then we're talking, but that is a weird scale for display with other figures.

I dig em all tho on first glance with the exception of Superman. WTF is going on with his legs. It's like he has super thick plated armor on his thighs, but it's supposed to be a slimline/spandex like suit. Hopefully that's addressed, cuz it's bugging me out, don't understand.

Thinking about it, I think the only 7" scale figures recently released are Arkham Knight figures. So unless they're suddenly throwing a new MSRP at us, it's gotta be down to scale or accessories...but scale seems more likely.

Unless each figure is gonna come with large set/accessory pieces, we've seen multiple hand and weapon accessorized figures for regular price point.

Just got an email from DC Collectibles. In it they reference this line as...

DC Films Premium 6'' Action Figures

So, they are 6 Inch

Quote:
DC Collectibles, the exclusive line of toy and collector items from DC Entertainment (DCE), will showcase its exciting 2016 product line-up at New York Toy Fair including a first-ever 6’’ premium action figure line based on Warner Bros. recent and upcoming DC films including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. In addition to the film-inspired line, in 2016 DC Collectibles will introduce a wide array of new statues, action figures and collectible items based on DCE’s comic and media properties and feature iconic characters Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and more.

The new, ongoing DC films action figure line was created specifically with toy collectors in mind, delving deep into character line-ups and offering up to 40+ points of articulation – the most articulation points ever produced by DC Collectibles.

“This is the first time DC Collectibles has made action figures based on DC films, and with this much articulation and attention to detail, we’re not holding anything back,” said Geoff Johns, chief creative officer of DC Entertainment. “Its exciting to see our DC film slate bring to life so many great DC characters, and DC Collectibles is following suit with our action figure line. This line will include everything from Batman to Superman to Wonder Woman, and even the obscure characters that will pop up in the cinematic universe. I can’t wait for fans of our films to get their hands on these figures.”

The first wave of DC films action figures will hit stores in Fall 2016 and will include Zod and Faora from Man of Steel and Armored Batman and Superman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The first Suicide Squad action figures are set to release in 2017.

Faora is my favorite character from S:MOS -- badly underutilized by the scriptwriters, IMO -- and I submit that this figure of her is best of the bunch. GREAT head sculpt! I'll be scooping her.

I wish her costume (and those of the other Kryptonians) adhered more closely to classic 'futuristic' designs from the comics. The jagged and cumbersome-looking pieces of pewter and bone body armor may have looked vaguely 'alien,' but seemed totally impractical and forgettable. Why was Superman the only Kryptonian to wear color? Why was his outfit so much more practical than anyone else's? Why was his chest emblem the only one to stand out in clear relief?

How many collectors are going to pay $45-50 for an "obscure" character. And do they think they are coming out with something that special to justify that kind of price tag?

Given the price-point and scale... I still might get Harley, but she'll likely be the only one. This definitely sounds like an ambitious line for DCC, and I applaud them for trying something new. I hope it works out well for them.

Hopefully the higher price is at least partially an assurance of quality. Expectations for these figures are bound to be rather high by the time they make their way into the hands of collectors. Meaning that any QC issues on-par to past DCD/DCC lines when they started up could be really damaging to this new line's sales.

Armored Batman looks fine. Wonder Woman looks fine. Superman looks bad. I think I'll stick with Mattel for low price point, but going to Mafex for high detail figures.

They look great. If they scale with NECA's 7" offerings I'd probably grab a few of them.
