I'm really digging these figures but I'm not a fan of all the variants....

I wonder if they will do it like the new Maurauder toyline (which consequently these guys designed I believe) where you can quasi customize your figs. If thats the case then I can understand all the repaints.

Repaints/Variants are really a necessity with an independent company like this. The type of molds and tooling needed for a highly articulated figure is quite expensive and adding in variants and repaints allows them to mitigate those costs and spread them out over multiple releases.

If they're gonna give us a Myrmidon, they really ought to give us an Achilles to lead them....

I'd be in for a squad of Myrmidons to pal around with that MU Ares that's coming.

I'd love to see an ancient set with real culture units... Since the Myridons, Spartans, and Athenians add Corinthians, Magaraians, and Argos then add on Thespians, Trojans, and Creteians

Those wanting more than these may be in for a wait, since the theme is supposed to change to "fantasy" after wave 3. While I totally understand the need for variants (and they have some great, legitimate ones) to recoup cost of tooling, I was hoping for a few more monster sculpts (Minotaur, Harpy, etc.) before shifting gears. Oh well, hopefully they'll return to the "mythology" theme again later. Great stuff!

How will these be made available? Do you have to sign up for the kickstarter, or is it a subscription, or can you pick and choose individual figures?

It'll probably start with a kickstarter, with a few variants available only through that kickstarter, and then individuals will likely be available via one outlet or another assuming the Kickstarter gets funded.

I understand the need for variants- considering that for every toy company tooling is ubiquitously the most expensive process. Therefore shared parts, especially with smaller companies, is where it is at.

Part of me feels like though that I would have rather seen less variants like the cosmic one or the cursed one and would have preferred a smaller wave. But thats just my opinion! Overall I love the figures and will invest in some of them.
