They were setting up the Marvel/Avengers pavillion at TRU Times Square today.

I think this is our first look at the Villians from the Avengers movie

Are they selling any of those figures or vehicles (besides the Quinjet) yet?

So it looks to me like we have: Two variations of the "bad guy trooper," probably one "deluxe Bad guy trooper." One bad guy vehicle (probably those sky-cycle things from the movie), and a new Nick Fury figure en-route.

Also, I'm beginning to find it hilarious how every glimpse we get of the bad guys just makes it HARDER to identify them.

Also: Any chance someone can grab some pics of the bad guy vehicles?

Yeah, I would say that there is a Basic Carded (Maybe two, like in the Cap line with the Hydra troopers) and a Deluxe. The Deluxe just looked stupid to me, so that's why I didn't take pics. Next time I'm down there, i'll take pics if someone doesn't beat me to it...

the Deluxe looked something like this, minus the Large bottom:

A gold pointed sled, with a Shield part that comes over the driver's shoulders...

These are some nice shots. I don't recognize the villains, but hell, they might just incorporate some new previously unpublished species to meet the needs of the movie's plot.

Loki's army is most likely the Disir. And didn't we already have that conversation? *shrugs*

As for the pics, it's nice to finally get a look at the figures themselves. I might actually get one of those (especially if they are the Disir).

Was there a second bad guy vehicle? It's kinda hard to tell, but it looks like there's something different in the "tank." In the picture of the whole tank it's right above and to the right of where Loki is kneeling, looks like it's facing forward. Or is that just one of the Deluxes from another angle?

Wow that helicarrier is cool. I'm definitely picking up that black widow and nick fury. Its hard to tell if they gave nick a new mold though.

We love ya, man...but you are crazy.

I have ten bucks that says the aliens are something new and not comic related- something made just for the movie.

According to Kevin Feige you've already lost that bet.

His quote, more specifically, was that "they are from the comics, but their identity is not impactful." This statement was made in conjunction with denying that they are Kree or Skrulls.

Which basically tells us that they're probably some race that Marvel dug out of the deep vaults just for the movie. Which is almost what you said, just with the caveat that they did appear in the comics at least once. Basically they're here to be an enemy just for one movie and not likely to play a much bigger role in the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe the way Kree or Skrulls might.

I'm betting it's some race that will have the comic-geeks combing the back-issues looking for. It won't be one of the "major" alien races at all. Or maybe they'll just call them the Chitauri and call it a day.

That's so true! Seriously the weirdest villains yet.

Still, just seeing them makes me excited for the movie all over again...

I completely forgot about the Chitauri. They worked in the Ultimate Avengers animated movie and if that is what they end up being called I'll have no problem with it.

Funny, that sounds a lot like the Disir.

DĂ*sir (Earth-616) - Marvel Comics Database

16 total appearances, to date. Most of which involved the Fear Itself event. By comparison, Skrulls have had roughly 280 appearances as of 2009.

I vote for the Xartans or Carbon Copy Men. They first appeared in JITM 90 and only made one other appearance in X-factor 32 posing as the avengers. They have the shape shifting and they also look like they are pale and decaying

As far as the Disir goes, they are all female so I doubt that they would be used.

Will be really interesting to finally find out who they are
