Yeah - how many different Thors does a kid need - especially after having a few previously within MU itself (Modern, Comic Pack, SDCC, Android)? And what the movie line worse was that different Thors didn't look that different! And the deluxe Thor figures were essentially the same with some packed in attachment that made no sense in terms of a character who wields a hammer, not a gun!

Green Lantern failed at the box office, and thus failed as a toy - and even worse, the toys weren't that good. Green Lantern, like Mr. Fantastic, Plastic Man, and others, is cool because of what he can do creatively with his ring (others with their bodies). A toy can make four or five attachments to show a big gun the ring could make or an airplane or giant hammer, but what if the kid wants to make an ice bridge (sorry, that's the wonder twins - but you get the idea). Worse, though, is that Green Lantern isn't a kid favorite. The Corps characters look creepy. The villain looked really creepy. It was just not a great line.

To be honest, what kills it for me is that it's a movie line. I don't want an action figure that looks like Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman. I want a figure that looks like comicbook versions of Thor, Green Lantern and Wolverine. There's something that turns me off about getting a figure that's a comicbook character that looks like an actor. It's different when it's a TV character like Dr. Who or a pro wrestler. Maybe I'm just weird, but it's totally what it is for me.

I picked up Fandral and the first Destroyer a couple of months ago in a small town Walmart.

I needed Fandral.

I already had a Destroyer.

So I customized the second one.

Wow! That's incredible! Although I wish I could just come across a Destroyer in store to simply customize. :P

I prefer the movie likenesses, they're more detailed and look more real.

Same here, plus I really enjoyed Thor's movie outfit. I just prefer the beard with no helmet look.

I'll bet those spikes were time consuming as hell to sculpt on!

Anyone want to trade a wave 2 destroyer for a sif? I need her, and my warriors will be finalized.

I don't think that's really a worthwhile trade, man. Sif is hen's teeth, but people actually found Destroyer's in store... that's just my take on it. Might wanna sweeten the deal a bit, because I don't think many of us actually have Sif.

did you mean $1-3 off? that's pretty cool nonetheless, I've never seen Walmart have sales on Marvel toys.

I only want to get Destroyer (both silver and black versions) but it'll be a miracle if anything higher than wave 1 hits retail in my area (or Canada rather). The cheapest I've come across for Destroyer/Sif is $17 each at my LCS.

Wasn't there only one Destroyer? Can't understand why Hasbro made two different colors ... just make one awesome one. (I guess they know us fans too well - we must have both.)

THIS! This is where they blew it- if they had a basic Asgardian warrior fig as an army builder it would hav been insane. Whole armies of Frost Giants vs. Asgardians....but no. Three dozen Thor figs later, the line is dead, whereas IM2 lasted and had a shit ton of amazing comic line figures.

Jeez, that Destroyer is nuts. I've been thinking about doin gthat, but haven't decided what to use for spikes yet.

If anyone has something in my trade list (sig), I have extra Sif and Destroyer.

Thanks. It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would to do. I used toothpicks myself. Someone on another site laughed at me saying they would start falling off in a day or two, unless I had dremeled a hole for each spike....which I did. You could throw this against the wall...and it would stick.

PM sent on that Sif, BTW.

Been checking my TRU for signs of new waves, but still nothing beyond Wave 1.

Your best bet seems to be Target. That's where I found the new waves at.

I did find once and pick-up Wave 2 there, I'm just really looking to find Sif, King Loki, Laufey and the probably next to impossible to find Deluxe Heimdall just so I can finish the line.

man that's a pretty insane sale! are they selling like hotcakes at this price?

..personally, I'd probably skip the sale considering all the good figs have already been cherry picked and what's left in this sale are all the peg warming wave 1 junk...

I need a Fandral to complete my Warriors Three, and wouldn't mind a Sif and a Hiemdial to boot.

Very nice. The Wal-Mart nearest to my house has the Iron Man 2 series for $1. Guess what. They are still there lol.
