Some solid figures and some crappy. A decent movie line that came out better than I expected.
Check out the other 5 threads about the captain America waves for more opinions on this.

I like it, all and all. Much better than the Thor line but not as good as the Iron Man line. I think they scaled them a bit on the small size.

I have the following.

Three pack. OK.
Ultimate Cap. Not so great.
Movie Cap. Actually pretty cool fig.
Bucky cap. A bit small, but looks great.
Winter Solider. Also a bit small, but looks great.
Parachute Cap. Freaking AWESOME!
US Agent. Pretty cool.

I still want the following.

Red Skull.
Crossbones.
Hydra Goons. X 100.
And maybe the Fortress Cap. For the shield and gear.

Peace...

Is the Red Skull still that hard to find? I passed up 3 today, I figured they were as common as BuckyCap nowadays

I think the Cap line is finished- there was nothing shown at SDCC for the line.
I'd have loved a Viper or Strucker...but my customs look good enough for me.

Shame that they didn't expand on the comic line a bit.

I own exactly 2 Captain America figures: WWII Cap and Red Skull. I would eventually like to pick up Crossbones and a few others, but my favorite right now is the WWII Cap.

They may be saving some of it for the Avengers line.

Yeah, it seems like Cap and Thor were designed from the ground up to be short-term lines. Probably a wise move on Hasbro's part, since retailers were likely feeling burned by IM2 leftovers, and Hasbro's going to want to be able to get all the IM2, Cap, and Thor stuff off-shelves by the time the Avengers line hits.

Yeah, it would've been nice if Thor was successful enough to warrant delving into a comic series or if Cap could've gotten a couple or three more assortments (Movie Howling commandos and Bucky would've been cool, along with some comic SHIELD types and more villains). But barring some reveal at NYCC, not looking likely to happen.

I don't know about that. I'm wishing like crazy that the Avengers line will have a good number of comic accurate figures. But this line would already have to be huge just to accommodate the huge cast of characters. Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Fury, Loki and whoever else they decide to throw in there. That's 8 essential characters. Also as I'm sure this line will include it's share of original sculpts, I'm wondering if the brilliance of these toy lines doesn't stem from the fact that after all the individual lines have run their course BAME, Avengers comes out and now Hasbro can just re-release key figures already made.

This may all seem to happen kind of fast from our viewpoint, but from a marketing viewpoint, kids are always coming up in age and ready to catch on to whatever being sold to them.

Just a posable theory, I'm hopping I totally wrong.

Well I think we'll likely see a new Fury... the 3 3/4 one now is just a GI Joe body rehash with a head stuck on it. Iron Man's armor is different, so I think that will be new too. Cap is getting a new suit, so that will be new, and Thor's hair is different, as it Loki's. So those won't be rehashes.

As for Cap, I've got
Red Skull
Movie Cap
Battlefield Cap
Deluxe Hydra x2

I'm still looking to get the basic Hydras, but they're still no-shows around here.

For those that havent seen me post these pics before of the Captain America Line that I picked up. I wasnt going to buy any of them but liked them more when I saw them in person.

I also have the paratrooper cap and think hes a really crappy figure with a gimmick that I thought would be cool but is not. Id like to pick up the both of the hydra troopers from the new wave and the variant hydra trooper.

I like aspects of the Captain america wave and hate the rest, same with Thor. For the most part the headsculpts are decent, especially on Red Skull,Crossbones, US agent, the accessories are good and bad, love the power cube, but hate the shitty guns, especially on Crossbones, they're paper thin, and a blah shitty green color. Most of the shields are retardedly oversized or poorly made, same as the weapons Thor has. Scale is slightly off from MU, but it's a good sister line, and with my area sucking in the MU selection I'll take it. I picked up Red Skull, Cross bones, Bucky cap, US Agent, the deluxe figher jet with cap figure, and 1 of the movie accurate type figures.. I have yet to see a winter soldier, kinda odd... I may get the jetpack or parachute Cap next, other then that I would like to find the other versions of Red Skull and Crossbones, I heard someone say the comic2pack version is better then the single card.

I want to find that 3pack, cept I don't have a local K-mart so that sucks, also would like to find a captain britain and that Cap figure with the vintage shield the 1 that mimics the SDCC exlusive cap, which I have set aside for me.

Hey, my K-Mart has those in abundance. I could probably do a proxy buy for you if you really want it. At cost + shipping + small convenience charge (5-10% or so for the gas and time to go get it)... PM me if you're interested.

That's possible, but 8 figures isn't really that much considering how many figures total that the IM2 line had, just in terms of new molds. Also, the Avengers line is supposed to combine the Cap, IM, and Thor lines under one banner, which to me says they're going to go big with it like the IM2 line.

And it's quite possible for them to take the unreleased or under-released figures from those lines and put them out in new packaging as Avengers toys, either as mass release or store exclusives.

My thoughts on the Cap Line:
  • So many different ways to make a shield with play features
  • Captain America is the new Spiderman (he can wear and be anything...as long as he has a shield)
  • Comic Series figs a plus
  • I want to buy a Frisbee shield from this line every time I walk to the toy aisle
  • Where's Seal Team 6 Cap?

Good point. I just hope the line rocks! Maybe will all get lucky and they'll re-release the better figs from the previous lines and all the new sculpts and characters will be good all around figures.
