Anyone else see this? I think this costume is garbage, and I can't believe they are remaking this too.

I love the original, and I'm down with a remake. The costume actually looks kinda nice to me, I'm giving it a chance. I'm looking forward to it. :]

I will wait until I see the first full trailer to make a more accurate opinion, but just based on this, I'm not really a fan. He looks like batman with a motorcycle helmet and no cape. Not very intimidating.

Robocop was a classic, I understand them trying to make the suit more modern? But this does not even look like a robot. And cover up that damn other hand!

I'm a huge Robocop fan, but I'm not liking the look of this new costume. It looks more like a Batman movie rubber suit than a cyborg.

I donno if I'd say that there's anything really inherently "wrong" with the design, as a cyborg per-say. I think the problem is that it looks like a cross between Batman and Ironman and that's all that it looks like.
It doesn't really feel like they tried to be original with the design at all. It feels like someone looked at the success of the batman and ironman films and just visually copied that aesthetic in a misguided attempt to appeal to the people who liked those movies. Personally I really don't know if Robo Cop is a franchise that can be rebooted. Everything that made the originals so iconic was the cheesy 80s camp. Something you just cant get away with these days. Just look at how poorly Tron Legacy was received. |
