Ok we all love the xmen we all like wolverine I'm sure we all enjoy the avengers. But I think its time marvel step away from the mainstream stream characters. marvel has some of the most awsome fictional character they can easy make a movie about the origins of silver surfer n the fans would go crazy are the can even make movies of quasar, sentry, galactus, the creed, are even the skrull ( like a attack on earth), are even a origin of archangel maybe even a movie about the oldest mutant apocalypse it doesn't always have to b about the hero..

Let me know what u guys think are what kinds of movie u would like c done I would really like to read what u have to say?

Sorry if there is a thread on this topic already

Didn't read the rest after Sentry. That movie could be such a mindfuck for people that don't know anything about the character.

I'd like to see some Apocalypse action. Start it off like Stargate. We need more movies where the bad guys can win. Kinda like last Action Hero when the movie vilians come into the real world to wreak havok. Or at least a good betrayal. Like Bishop turning on the X-Men.

Silver Surfer ive been dying for a Silver Surfer but all we got was FF4 ROTSS and that movie didnt have enough Surfer, and an Apocalypse movie would be badd as especially if you could have a Cable cameo which would set up a Cable movie, so many options but i doubt wed ever see it seeing as how marvel likes to rehash alot of old story lines.

you know.....a sentry movie wouldnt be a bad idea

Think about it. it would give an outside writer a chance to take the characters origin, and simplify it so that it still has that forgotten hero thing, but be more streamlined and fixed. maybe a better explaination as to what the hell the Void really is.

if its good enough, Marvel could retcon sentry again, and fix him

I think a Sentry Movie would bring up to many "rip off Superman" sayings from all the non-comic people.

I'd be down for almost any of those movies/characters you suggested, but I think a lot of common folk (not into the comic genre) are kind of to the "really, another comic book movie??" point. AND, don't forget that hardcore comic fans usually bitch and moan about every little detail that isn't 100% canon, or how they think it should be, so while I'd probably see almost all of them, I think it would be tough to fill seats for a lot of those characters (in movies) even if they were good movies.

A lot of good points but I Jus feel marvel has so many great characters that would b great on the big screen n I think it would b refreshing to c a new face. I like all the movies that were made so far even if it wasn't 80% accurate lmao (xmen last stand was horrible but I still liked it) I Jus wanna c something new n if marvel is worried it won't sell they will never know unless they try right now comics, collecting, n cons are bigger then ever( I couldn't even get into comic con this year ) n if u must make a xmen movie can u please incorporate other xmen like gambit

i agree about the surfer and now would be the most opportune time to do a proper movie based on it coming out of thor and the soon to be avengers. they all deal with the expanded universe (power cosmic, different realms, different races/creatures etc) and are a perfect lead in to a movie based on that kind of material.

plus who the hell doesn't want to see galactus done right in a movie!

I just don't think Galactus could be done right unless he was a cartoon. Same thing with Unicron. IMO

i could be down for a fully cgi movie as long as they told the story the right way. i would prefer them to fit it into the current film continuity though

something along the marvel ultimate alliance route in terms of visual scope.

A lot of hardcore comics fans would go crazy if a more obscure character got their own movie, and certainly individual comics fans would cream their pants if their own particular favorite got their own movie but that doesn't necessarily translate into dollars at the box-office.

That said, I'd like a Dr. Strange movie. He isn't my favorite, but I think he'd make a good movie.

Agreed.

As for the topic, as cool as it would be for those characters to get movies, it's going to be a hard sell to the general public when you start bringing in the cosmic characters. Especially if you keep it on Earth to ground the movie, because the comic fans will riot.

Happens with Transformers in almost every medium. In fact, the joke is now that Earth's gravitational field attracts anything Cybertronian.

It's all about making a profit. A movie company isn't going to fund a comic-based film that doesn't have big name characters in it. That is why there are so many sequels and remakes out there right now, movie companies want to play it safe and crank out a few films to idiots rather than try something new and risky. And hell, Green Lantern was a giant turd, and the amount of money they put into it is going to hinder DC films from being made for a while. Luckily we're still getting Superman, but let's face it, it's fucking Superman. People will watch it.
