Has anyone seen the new Casey yet? In the show or the toy? He's always been a favorite of mine.

$9 a figure is reasonable for these guys, I'm wanting to customize them like a few arkers before me have done, but debating if I want to do a similar dark wash or go the extra 4 steps and paint them all green, shading, washes, etc, and weapon detail... damn u awesome figures, wish u were more awesome already lol.

A page back when I said "..and they're $9" was me saying "they're ONLY $9 and they're a good bang for your buck."
I think some people read my comment as me saying they're too expensive.

Did an upgrade like so many other arkers have done. I still want the classic ones though. Black wash or more green may be something I'll do down the road but I'm ok with how they look for now.

Great tips from great arkers. Seeing the pics on here sold me on buying them. Nostalgia all over again.

Not Shredder? He needs knee joints so badly. I haven't even opened splinter yet. He's still in the plastic prison.

Thanks to Straker I now know how to add chains to the weapons.
Now how do I go about painting them? And once painted, what can I do so the paint doesnt rub off when I put them in their hands? |

Assuming u mean just the plastic bits and not the metal chain. When it comes to plastic bits, you want to decide color, as in 1 color, do u want a wash effect or drybrush, once u decide that, apply 2-3 thin layers of paint, using even brush strokes. Then use a good sealer, some people use a spraypaint sealer, me personally I use a brush on, so I can be generous where I want it and can even the coat out, 2 much and you get a milky look to the paint or globs of it in certain spots. I normally do 2-3 top coats, then you are done, you can also get high shine, no shine, low shine etc lots of options but the key is solid paint job then solid clear coat. give it a day to cure and harden,

It sounds alittle too challenging for me.. I think I might just stick to the chains.. Thanks for the help |

Wet your brush a bit. Dip in black paint. Paint over the cracks, area, you want black. Immediately after painting, wipe the area with that wet towel, wiping the paint off. The paint will stick in the cracks. If I'm not making sense, watch a video about it on youtube. Seriously, you can do it.

A wash is easy, trust me. You need: a brush, black acrylic paint, damp towel (paper works fine), and a bowl of water.

It's not that hard once you get the hang of it, 2 bits of info to help is to read Jin Saotome's how to section, along with the one found on marvelousnews.com lots of useful advice. And if you are nervous about it, use acrylic paint as it's easily removable if you do mess up, *hot water and paper towel, and start with a test piece ie 1 of the weapons or a random toy you don't care about. Hit up Wal-Mart and was able to snag the other 3 (Don, Raph, Mike) I needed. Definitely like Wallys price a lot better seeing as each one of the Deluxe size figs were $7.77 each.
Now to wait on classics. |

Can't beat the $7.77 price compared to TRU or Target. TRU today had done a reset and had a lot of TMNT merchandise though. I had grabbed all 4 turtles and Kraang to put on display in my 3 month old daughters room. I'll get her into collecting at an early age.
