NECA/ Lootcrate is straight up artificially inflating the value of their figure while encouraging scalpers at the same time... which happens to be all the things wrong with collecting right now.
How? They’re giving you a window to preorder, which is what people have been begging them to do like Super7, and they’re stating the fact that if you put off ordering you’re going to end up paying way more for one crate than buying all 4 at once.

They’re not inflating anything, dumb people who ignore the chance to get orders in and then decide later they actually want the figures inflate prices.
The dumb thing is they're hiding a character behind a 4 figure pay-wall. They could 100% be offering this same shit through the NECA site but they're doing it through Lootcrate to sell you "$25" worth of other crap for each crate. I don't even look at these as $50 crates, they're $50 figures with extra crap. I'm shocked at how many fucking t-shirts I have from toy company bundles in the last 2 years that I literally haven't taken out of the plastic.

A $30 figure and a $20 shirt (plus extra little displayable themed items) sounds good to me

They aren't hiding a figure behind a pay wall, they are offering a bonus figure for those that support their business. A really obscure one that probably wouldn't have been made otherwise. With the exception of the Dark Turtle that would sell just because it's Batman adjacent, all of the other figures probably wouldn't have been made otherwise either. Also, sometimes you get some need stuff in the crates that enhance your display, like the wanted posters in the last one.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. None of these figures are "must haves" for a display.

I tell you I can give neca a hard time sometimes......because they deserve it.....lol.

But I have no issue with what they are doing. No way Danny could ever be a retail release, I doubt even a 2-pack could carry this release. This is for the a hardcore fan, it’s not needed. So no one should feel this is an empty spot if they don’t want it. He is a plus 1. I never picked up the spirit splinter, just could not figure out how to work it in to my display. But Danny fits in the city diorama.

Will they have photos of the other figures by the time preorder ends? I don't feel comfortable dropping that much money if I can't see the prototypes.
With the amount of new tooling going into Armaggon, is it safe to assume he'll be repainted as a non-exclusive later?

I don't think they are going to show the prototypes of the others before March 23rd. You kind of just have to go off of past figures to judge what they will look like. Probably why they showed the movie figure off first because there is no way to judge how it would have turned out. So far, NECA has been pretty spot on with their toon/game and comic stuff so don't think you have to worry too much.

I dont have a strong desire for most of the characters during this round of Loot Crates, but think would be cool to get maybe a movie Tatsu or Keno when or if they do make them.

I think theres the general feeling for us collectors, who are getting older and older. who are or will be dealing with the managemnt of time, money, and space. Toy/action figure collecting is generational (though I know a ton of kids that are building a bit of their Pop Collection). We all know what these Loot Crates are and the practice of unloading unwanted overstock "junk." It does suck and its not ideal for the consumer but economics and logistics for it are better than say a small tiny company that will produce special made custom figures which are in low demand which would be priced at probably at least 3-4x the price of what they asking for this package.

NECA has said they've tried contacting the guy who's played Tatsu and they have had no luck in getting a response. So they're working on it at least. I don't recall them ever mentioning making a Danny figure. At this point without Tatsu we're down to Danny's dad and Sam Rockwell's punk character lol.

Ya if the targets are so stocked the sets wouldn’t still be going for double or almost double on the aftermarket

Because nobody expected anyone to make him.

I just wish it wasn't NECA, and it wasn't a lootbox.

Uh... $70-$80 with free shipping by most of the “scalpers” is hardly double or almost double, once you factor in shipping, taxes, time, gas, and eBay & PayPal fees, they are barely breaking even... maybe getting $5 profit for their efforts.

The cheapest rat king set is still about $90 with tax. Most of us budget about $55 with tax for these. Not $90.

Again having to pick the oddball set for higher, fine. But for me and many others we don’t get the chance at retail for any of these unless neca puts them on their site, and even then it’s $15 shipping.

Armaggon is from the Archie comics and appeared as a fighter in TMNT: Tournament Fighters on SNES.

NECA is no doubt testing the waters for figures from that game as there are a hand full of characters who had unique designs from the title, as well as another group of characters who like Armaggon never had a toy of any kind back in the 90's.

Of course tournament fighters! That’s it! That game has a gold mine!

I just ordered the 5 pack and am BEYOND excited to receive them! I missed out on the last set of figures due to lack of funds, but I'm so glad I was able to get these! Now to continue my quest to get Easter bunny Rocksteady and Bebop! I was able to get the Shell Shocked turtle 🐢 And it's easily one of my favorites

I legitimately just bought the Rat King/ Vern set for $75. Seller accepted my offer. That's about as much as I like to spend. My fiancé let's me get away with buying one figure a week lol

Was there shipping?

If she gives you no limit on the figure.....that’s a win.

Shipping was $10 so that kinda sucked, but worth it for the end result of being in my loving hands!

She would frown if I spend more than $200, but..it's like I always tell her, I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission haha And, she spends plenty on clothes so she can't say much
