I actually really like the new designs for these characters, bebop and rocksteady especially. If the turtles wore less clothes and no shoes, I'd actually be more on board with them. The first movie designs left a lot to be desired, but these are good, or at least better.

Rocksteady looks great there.

I found myself in the weird position of wishing I'd gone to see this instead of shitty X-Men Apocalypse (they dropped the ball with that one)...

I haven't seen X-Men yet but trust me Out of the Shadows can't be much better if at all. I really enjoyed the last movie despite the faults it had and was really looking forward to the new one but it was such a nothing movie. All the action the first one had was just gone.

And it was so obvious that it was toned down even for little kids just like the 90s movies.

Honestly, just having any sort of version of Bop and Rock onscreen would have been better than almost mute characters (the Horsemen), the lack of anyone to actually care for they're so badly presented etc.

They were okay but they seemed like they were in the movie just so the filmmakers could say they had Bebop and Rocksteady in the movie. Same goes for Casey, Shredder, and Kraang.
