Guys, do you remember the secret wars figures from the 80's?
They used to come with a shield and an image inside of it that when seen from one side it would show an image; and when seen from another side, it would show a different image (kind of like animating it)
Does anyone know the name of this type of gimmick?
Thanks in advance.

On the packaging they were called secret message shields. But fedup is right on the technical term of it.

I still have a few of these (along with original SW Captain America & the original Black suit Spiderman). They're like the giant 7-11 Slurpee Cups.

Fedup is right, the name is Lenticular Printing.
That´s the term I was looking for. Thank you very much.

I remember Caldor, Zares, and Ames, and even won a costume contest at Ames won year durring Halloween.

Did anyone else know that TRU.com had the Doom Cycle from that line not too long ago?

I think I got an old Carnage vs Venom figure two pack from back in 2000 or something that came with a card that did the same thing you're talking about. I got that card in a binder near here somewhere, does anyone think if you took pictures of it from a certain angle it would show up on camera?

Dude when Ames was Zayre. It was paradise as a kid. My mom would always be like "ok if youre good, you and youre brother can get something." I can remember at one point c.1985 owning at least 1 figutre of every line ever made to that point. Eagle Force. Loved me some die cast metal.. They just don't work with die cast metal like they used to.

Wow, we had like almost the same child hood.

Eagle Force, man, good memories.

Remember that muck man figure you could cut up and then recombine, but he didn't ever work the way he was supposed to, and was almost always stolen out of his box?

What was that guys name anyway?
