I have really enjoyed the films so far and was looking to get others opinons on the third installment. I haven't seen it yet but, am anxious to go. So who went to go see this Thursday at midnight or have you went to see it since then. I've never been to a midnight showing so, anyone who can tell about how that experience is, please do! How do you feel about the series as a whole now? For those that want to give any major details away, please use spoiler tags-

for those of us who wish to remain surprised.

bad things as in it sucked?I for one thought it was good, these movies dealing with the paranornal are so much creepier than hack and slash type films imo.

Agreed and I LOVE me some slasher films but, these kinds of films just have that real creep factor.

Saw it on Thursday at a midnight showing and it was awesome. I'm especially pleased that Paranormal as a series seems to keep getting better with each installment, unlike..*cough*..saw..*cough*.

And the Paranormal movies are definitely "theater" films in that its best to see them in a full theater (as I have for all three films) its most definitely worth it and you really should go sooner rather than later.

I think the best part the other night, was when a jump scare happened and a woman 2 rows in front of me screamed at the top of her lungs and scared the crap out of everyone in the theater. We all started laughing together and clapping for her, and it was really great.

BTW someone else needs to hurry up and see the 3rd one so I can discuss my crazy theory about what really happened in it!!

Lol, that does sound like an awesome theatre going experience. And don't worry about me Steefs, that spoiler warning was just to cover my ass for the rest of the members who don't want anything to juicy, hence the spoiler tags. That last sentence in my first post wasn't necessarily meaning me, I love spoilers lol. Talk away bud!
Incoming plot point discussion incoming, so this is truly your last chance to look away.....
So after seeing the movie and reading some discussions on the forums of other sites, the common complaint was "I don't know what happened exactly??, etc.. why did the girls not remember all this later?" and honestly, while the movie didn't outright tell you "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED" I kind of picked up on clues and certain lines to come to the possible conclusion that somehow...The demon is possibly Katie and Christy's Grandfather (and possibly father)? My reasoning is, at the beginning of the movie they establish that Dennis is their Stepdad and not their real dad :Clue#1. And when asked about Katie and Christi's dad Julie doesn't seem to want to talk about it (if she even remembers...i.e. brainwashed?) :Clue #2 Then, Dennis tell Randy that he read in his book, that witches (specifically Covens) would brainwash young girls into forgetting their demonic expericences when they were younger (hence why Christi and Katie don't remember later). :Clue#3 And with the revelation of their Grandma being a part of the Coven and making dressing Christi up like a bride (with Christi saying that "Toby" is the groom) :Clue#4
So possibly, (and this is total conjecture) the Grandma offered either herself or Julie (her daughter) up to the demon. Who then got Julie pregnant with Katie and Christi(????) and so then in Paranormal 2 he was determined to get his "grandson" back? Idk, if this even really makes sense (upon re-reading all that) but wouldn't it be wacky if this really was the case?? ;D [SPOILERS END]

Yeah I heard it was really bad. But I love suspense! Hitchcock was a master. Heck I loved the strangers cuz of the sheer suspense.

Saw the first when it came out and have no interest in the rest of this film series. I love paranormal type stuff but this movie just drew me off. I'm glad you guys enjoy but, not for me at all.

That's what I've been hearing that the ending is open and if the first 2 are any indication of the third (and that's what I hear also), bring on number 4!
