I was on the hunt today and went to three different Targets around my area. All three had different prices on the G.I. Joe Comic Packs. I know that they usually go now for around $10.98.

The first Target I went to had them for $12.98, the second for $9.98 and the third for $14.98!

What the hell is going on? Is it common for different stores within the same chain to have conflicting prices like this? Needless to say, I avoided the most expensive, but had to go back and buy one of the $12.98 packs to get the one I wanted cause the cheapest store had the crappiest selection.

Has anybody encountered anything like this before?

I have seen something similar at Targets regarding clearance items. It's usually based on regional differences (i.e. toy x sells better in the west side of toy, while it languishes on the east side), but even then it's rare.

But I haven't noticed a regular price discrepancy, myself. Then again, I rarely go to more than one Target in one day (unless it's for Animated exclusives for $5 ).

Actually $12.98 is the new price here. For a long time they were $9.99 then for some reason they decided it would be good to raise the price on the peg warmers.

I think they upped it, to "clearance at $9.98 WAS $12.98"

It's a general rule of thumb to stores altogether.

Prices vary from a dollar to a few cents in different areas. The same happens with fastfood.
