Ok, here we go again. Who are your favorite Transformers Universe/Classics 2.0 figures and why.
My list goes as follows: 1. Onslaught (Ultra) - Awesome figure, very imposing even without his teammates or his old combiner mode. 2. Stormcloud - Didn't really care for the Powerglide deco, but this one rocks. Great upgrade for a Micromaster. 3. Sunstreaker - Great update for the car brothers. I especially love the not-Lambo alt mode. 4. Sideswipe - Same goes for Sunny's brother. 5. Hound w/Ravage - Anachronistic tape mode FTW! 6. Cyclonus w/Nightstick - Bring on the Targetmasters. Hopefully the other masters are on their way. 7. Acid Storm - Finally, the Rainmakers have arrived. 8. Silverstreak - Prowl was a good mold, but this redeco is a perfect version of the first Autobot motormouth. 9. Silverbolt - A good update for the Aerialbot leader. Here's hoping Hot Spot and Motormaster will be considered for this treatment in 2010. 10. Prowl - A few more paint apps would make him higher on the list, but still an awesome update. Sound off! (and yes, Henkei versions can count)

Based on the ones I own:
10.Brawn-That's right, a legends toy. It's a great representation of the character & my favorite legends toy. 9.Sivlerbolt-Simple, but a nice representation of the areialbot leade with an awesome repaint coming out. 8.Cheetor-Has it's flaws, but a nice representation of the Beast Wars teen 'bot and fun to transform. 7.Dragstrip-A Stunticon out of a great mold, 'nuff said. 6.Octane/Tankor-Fun to transform and actually looks good to me. 5.Sunstreaker-An awesome mold with almost as many repaint oppourtunties than the Seeker Mold. 4.Sideswipe-See Sunstreaker. 3.Onslaught-Pure awesome, looks badass and proves he dosen't need the other Combaticons to be. 2.Inferno-This guy isn't due until '09, but for those who got him through other methods that own this guy are lovin' him. 1.Cyclonus w/Nightstick-Cannot put this guy down for more than a few seconds, an awesome character, awesome toy & awesome gimmick. |

Heres my Top 10.
10.Poweglide would've been bout 6. or 5. if had accurate PG color scheme, excellent mold tho. 9.Blades this figure has the best heli design of any TF,color is perfect for him. 8.Hound because he was way overdue for a remake. 7.Legends Brawn this figure is just Sweet, enough said. 6.Sunstreaker/Sideswipe these deserve a tie for both,2 totally different characters from one mold. 5.Smokescreen even tho I haven't found him yet,has the closest G1 resemblence of all. 4.Bluestreak simply cause he is Bluestreak. 3.Silverbolt for his easy transformation and wicked Concorde Jet look. 2.Legends Beachcomber has the best legends mold of all. A n d n o w 1.Starscream because this is what he should've looked like the first time around, G1 accurate in other words. |

1. Onslaught - Big and bad and a great new vision still clearly tied to G1. Absolutely exemplifies what these updates should be about, imo.
2. Sunstreaker - Stunning in both modes, solid all around, like a deluxe Alternator! 3. Silverstreak - Absolutely gorgeous deco, a fine example of a mere paint swap bringing out the best in a mold 4. Sideswipe - Just as good as Sunstreaker, but I'm a little less charmed. Feels he should have had an extra gun to me, for the launcher AND gun combo. I understand that is way too much to ask in reality, but in the quest for finding as many differences between he and Streaker as possible, I wanna leave that gun on his shoulder and have another one in his hand, you know? I've fixed it myself, would've been cool to do it right out of the package though. 5. Prowl - A favorite character of mine updated rather well. I think he's better than he got credit for. It doesn't hurt that mine has no sticky paint, and I've never had his doors pop off during transformation. I think it's all in how you handle it, perhaps. 6. Silverbolt - Another toy I think has gotten way too much flack. Simple transformation? So what! Both modes look great, and the simplicity has G1 written all over it anyway. 7. Octane - Consistent in execution to Classics 1.0 Astrotrain, not absolute perfection, but probably as good as possible at the scale. I think he looks pretty good. Solid buy, especially when considering the long running Wal-Mart sale on deluxes. 8. Powerglide - The colors don't bug me so much, it's just the oddly proportioned robot mode that leaves me hanging. Feels like a leader class torso on a voyager bottom with ultra arms. Still, he's grown on me. 9. Ironhide - Almost a really great update, but the visible transformation lines all over the vehicle, a crappy distribution of color in bot mode, and the damn head looking downwards when transformed right almost ruin the potential entirely. 10. Galvatron - I love the character but there's just so much wrong with this toy. Deco is too plain in vehicle mode and too obnoxious in robot mode with the orange bits. He's floppy and parts fall off way too easily. His absolute only saving grace is that he DOES end up with a decent representation of the G1 character in robot mode...but at such a small size he can hardly integrate with the other figures properly. And no, I don't buy the "he was made for Classics Rodimus" crap. Note - I don't yet own the Cyclonus/Hound wave I'm sure with those Galvatron and Ironhide would be off my list. 10. Ironhide - Even with the flaws, it's awesome.
9. Powerglide - I loved this figure as soon as I unboxed it. The online images never did him justice. 8. Brawn - Best Brawn figure ever! 7. Treadbolt - A great repaint of an awesome mold and it actually feels very different from Jetfire. 6. Silverstreak - I think this is the best application for a good mold. 5. Sunstreaker - The dual robot mode engineering was awesome. 4. Sideswipe - See above. 3. Hound - I love the look in both modes and the transformation was really clever. That it comes with Ravage is a huge bonus. 2. Onslaught - Huge, imposing, and just plain bad-ass looking. 1. Cyclonus - Probably in the top 5 best TF molds ever. |
