What do you guys and gals want in this toyline?

"The new line will bring moments from both the classic film and the sequel to life, appealing to fans of all ages," Mattel said in a statement. "We are thrilled to bring Top Gun to life for both kids and their parents who undoubtedly fell in love with the franchise over thirty years ago," said Janet Hsu, Mattel Chief Franchise Management Officer. "Our design-led approach has allowed us to recreate the high-octane action from the movie with a line of toys that will impress fans of all ages."

Ship as epic as the USS Flagg, for the millions of neglected G.I. Joe fans; to put Skystriker jets, Dragonfly helicopters, and many retro cool things 1980s!

I watched the trailer and I noticed 2 things... Tom Cruise is old now... he didn't really look that old to me in Jack Reacher 2. And also... the F-18 is just not as sexy as the F-14. I don't think I could get excited about any F-18 toys.

The sexy F-14 is at the end. Also, they're doing toys for the classic 80s film too! So they (Mattel) got you covered!!! If only Hasbro can do more for Joe.

With as many Skystrikers as I have, I could actually do without an F-14.

It would be the wrong branch for sure (since the US Navy doesn't operate these,) but give me a proper Eagle or Falcon and I'd be all over those.

But more than anything...I want Migs and Sukhois. Fulcrums, Foxbats, Super Flankers and Terminators...Hell...give me the fictitious Mig 28s too!

And for the love of all that is good and holy, no F-35's. I hate the look of that giant turd...

Jesse Falcon just gave Mattel another Marvel license for 12" figures. Jesse Falcon could give another Marvel 3.75" license and do this,

Ooo... I didn't know Mattel was covering the original Top Gun too... that's neat I guess. But I laugh trying to think of how they will try to shoe horn a F-14 cameo in the new movie. And it looks like Maverick will be flying a new experimental plane or something when he is wearing that Astronaut type helmet in the trailer.

their 6in Jurassic Park figures look great- so I imagine will see a couple Mavericks in this scale... And even their 3.75 JP line has decent figures- so I'm sure we'll see some of those that can have jets. Might be a hair smaller than Joes but might still work.

Action Figure Collectors' Case,
that can disassemble, and form the front and back of the movie's famous aircraft hanger...

Build-a-Playset = Radar station(s) mini sets

Like troop builders (e.g. Stormtroopers) do mini playsets than can build a bigger playset. To "teach" kids how to collect, make sure each radar station has a troop builder figure (complete with different skin tones / 3 alternate heads).

Build-a-Playset Locker(s) Mini-set

Each with different stickers + different accessories (coffee mugs, baseball caps, tshirts; each stamped with a logo from differrent ships). USS Enterprise locker, USS Licoln locker, USS Vinson locker etc. Teaches kids how to Build-a-Playset of a ship locker room.

Exciting times for 3.75" collectors 3 times over! Joe collectors now got another nostalgic 80s toy by Mattel at a time Hasbro neglects its Joe 3.75" fans. Just like Disney (Marvel) cinematically reminded the Warners (DC Comics) not to neglect its own (super) heroes. Speaking of super heroes Mattel won a Marvel 12" license (another scale Hasbro is neglecting). Mattel can thus do Marvel 3.75" if TOPGUN 3.75" does good. If thee great Army Navy Game will (rumoredly) be in the sequel; its 3.75" football figure can also start an exciting NFL 100th Anniversary lineup!!!

Along with a wide variety of Army Navy game uniforms even the mascot has a variety of jerseys. Mattel can make many repaints for many figures to come just like Bill the Goat!
