Hey Guys. This is a plush toy I made. I'm planning to make a whole line of them, so let me know what you think. I'm also running a fundraising to help me get this project moving. There's more info here: kck.st/zkB0Kn Thanks! |

looks like something called kickstarter when you inspect the link. I googled it and "kickstarter scam" comes up. That can't be good

scam or not, i'm trying to understand the product. Its just an ordinary plush doll right? If so, you might have a hard time selling a featureless white object. i see potential where the doll is essentially a white canvas that a child can customize using velcro parts, think like a combination between a mister potato head and those expensive bears you can make at the mall(i don't remember the name). But as it stands right now, its just a boring plush marshmallow. Make it STAND OUT its gonna end up in the dollar stores.

I too want a featureless, poorly made plush blob! There's absolutely no other cutesy plush crap o the market- it's so brilliant! How do I invest? Can my Nigerian friends also invest?
They're royalty. AwWWWwwww...I'm just kidding! What are the odds it's a scam and that the poster is a bot? We could be crushing some young person's dreams here...... BWWWWwwwhahahahaahahahHAHAHA!! Last edited by Jason Abbadon; 02-20-2012 at 10:05 AM.. |

Hello everyone.
No no, its not a scam. It's a funding campaign, to see if I can get the toys made. If it doesn't reach a quota, nobody (pledgers) gets charged a thing. I decided on doing a toy, but it really could have been any product related to the character. It's also good that I've been posting in forums, anonymous people seem to be more critical. I've indeed heard that it seems a bit plain, and needs some accessories or features that make it stand out. I was hoping on making those things known later on, perhaps I made a miscalculation on how it would be received. Thanks for the input, please continue to give me your take on things and ideas you might have. |

Bots and more malevolent people pop in from time to time posting very simular topics, with links that lead to scams, malware getting installed into unsuspecting Arkers, and so on. Taking down the link, and integrating yourself into the community a bit more will go further to gain confidence you're on the up and up.

i dunno, prolly not a scammer. this kickstarter site kinda makes sense. you have an idea, pitch it to them, they let you open your project up for backers to help fund the project and won't charge if the quota isn't reached. interesting idea, just haven't heard of the site till now. kinda like ebay but with projects since the idea is, i don't have the cash, but if a ton of people gave me a dollar, i can get this project off the ground and include incentives to donate.
that said, in terms of a plush toy line, it feels a bit too close to the kodama from princess mononoke to feel too original. but it is cute nonetheless and the craftsmanship is pretty stellar for what it is. |

While I'm sure there are people on this site that are interested in cutesy things and plushes, Toyark mainly caters to the action figure crowd and you might not get the reaction your looking for. Tomopop would likely much better fit your target audience. |

Yes, Tomopop featured me already. Thanks for explaining this blog's demographic to me.
Indeed I just joined the blog, I'm not really experienced in internet promoting. Thought I might as well try it out. I do get some good feedback though. Thanks. |

It;s a legit site, not sure about this person, but people make an idea some good some bad, pitch it and get people to back it, if the goal gets met, the item gets made into production and depending on your donation towards the cause results in what you get back, ex give $10 get a stuffed animal, donate $50 get a 5' tall version, donate $100 get 1 of each and a hoody, donate $1000 get 2% of profits, so on and so on.

how about selling this to hasbro. turn it into a plush version of those mighty muggs. Question is, if your a kid would you want a plush version of somebody like punisher? or...make a pillow sized one to represent giant man, make a plush avengers. If that takes off, it could be this decades beany babies.

sell to hasbro? no no, its too early to consider that haha.
i think i know now though, that the reason the character is plain is to contrast against the more colorful things that happen to him in art/comics/stories. somehow we decided not to translate that into the kickstarter project. we'll see what happens, and reconcept a new toy if need be |
