My goodness, why does he look so feminine? I remember he did look a bit like that in the game art, but this face could pass for a statue of a female character lol.

Also, the lips in the game art don't have that glossy pink/red color to it as well, usually attributed to the feminine look. |

If this release was based soley on that one single piece of art, then I'd see your point. The statue isn't an exact replica of any one piece of art. It's an interpretation of the character, as none of the details on the statue match up correctly to the artwork presented. All I'm saying is Alucard has always been presented as a more feminine character by Konami, and this statue represents that fairly faithfully. Most companies tend to push that even more. Mond's Statue and Fist4Figures statues both push that just as much, if not more so.

Ayami Kojima, the artist and character designer for a lot of the Castlevania games from that period, always liked to design her male characters a bit on the androgynous side, especially Alucard. I'd say the statue is pretty much spot-on.

I'm just weirded out by the decision to make have inner vest (which seems to be a Brigandine) and jacket done in a leather texture. It's kind of weird as his jacket is designed like the ones from the 1700-1800s.
Alucard's attire, while an original design, is very much influenced by real life apparel of the era in SOTN's setting. |

Sure, Alucard is a bit of a pretty boy, but he's awesome enough to deserve a $500+ statue anyway. It's a bit too rich for my blood, though, and a bit too big, but I do like it better than the other options.

I suggest looking at his Pachislot version's 3D model. It's balanced in my opinion, pretty looking while not overtly feminine.
