I was super excited for these when first shown. Now I'm really glad I didn't buy them. That Keaton face is horrid. The masked Batman is ok, but even the head sculpt on that is weak.

I'm cool with masked Batman and Zod. They work as mini statues tucked into a shelf. Zod will look good with Superman when that drops. But the unmasked Bats, super ehhh.

I'm trying to just dig em for what they are, but it's hard. I really just want Boss Fight to do DC I guess.

If the details on the masked Batman's head sculpt were just a little sharper and not so rounded, I'd probably pick at least that up. That figure and the DeVito Penguin were the two I was most interested in.

Yeah, and Boss Fight has been killing it with their work. Seeing their sculpts in person and how well they turn out is something to behold.

Is Supes and Catwoman out too?

Checking eBay, there aren't many on there, so it must be super short packed or just hitting in a revised case. Or no one knows or cares.

Didn't see any Superman or Catwoman on the Bay either.

I was able to get my hands on the regular masked 89' batman. I really like it, not sure if it is nostalgia or not (I think I was like 6 when that movie came out). I dug out the DVD the other night, and the limited articulation is kind of accurate to the movie. Keaton looks kind of like he could benefit from some P-90X Yoga. The articulation is way better than the 5 POA stuff that seems to be clogging the pegs in this scale.

I wonder if they switched the unmasked Keaton with Penguin figures in certain regions. I'm in Atlanta GA.

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY, what the hell did they do to Keaton's face?!

Ehh... I suppose I shouldn't be so cruel. Blind sculptors need work too, after all... but still. YEESH.

I'm tempted to get that Zod because I like the character and would like to have him in my display, but I already have Superman fighting Doomsday, so... hmm. Guess I could keep him in package and display him next to Reeve Superman (whenever they release him) on my wall.

After seeing such big, clear photos of unmasked Michael Keaton, I think I just lost a whole lot of enthusiasm in this line altogether. Depends on the final Christopher Reeve likeness, really.

Sloth from the Goonies called, said he wants his face back.

Seriously, that face is horrible, but what do you expect from 12 year old Chinese boys working for 50 cents per 18 hour day?

In fact, that face makes those GI Joe movie toy faces look godly now. Honestly though, I just don't get why companies insist on making toys with actual actor faces. They NEVER look right and NEVER will. Just look at the faces on the Star Wars Black series or Game of Thrones toys. OH MY DEAR GOD!!!

Well, they don't all look bad. The ROC General Hawk looks exactly like Dennis Quaid to my eye. Duke (sadly) looks a lot like Tatum. No one ever seems to get it right when it really counts, though.

Keaton and Reeve should have a ton of effort put into making them look right. That unmasked batman looks absolutely terrible, though, while Zod and even Penguin (from what I can tell) look pretty damn good. I suppose it was easier for them, though. Penguin looks more monstrous than human, and Terrance Stamp's Zod is more beard than man.

It's baffling that they screwed up Keaton's face. This is an action figure meant for the adult collector, and therefore, costs more. Mattel is not only wasting collectors' money but also their own for having paid to use the actor's likeness. The likeness of Christian Bale for The Dark Knight 4" line (the same head used for the Bruce Wayne ninja and business suit figures) was much better, and those figures were meant to be sold for cheap to kids!

lol good thing I don't want an unmasked Batman. Makes no sense to want that one since that version of the Batsuit was never shown unmasked. Picked up my Keaton Batman at Wal-Mart yesterday, had to go through them all to find one that didn't have a slightly screwy Bat-symbol. Cape seems to be glued to the chest on one side, but that's okay. Still working on straightening the grapnel/spear-hook.

Hopefully the Chris Reeve Superman looks good.

he took the mask off in the final scene with Catwoman and Max Shrek
I am guessing that's the look they were going for

I think that unmasked Batman could be fixed with some painting when I get one I'm going to repaint it. If you look close enough you can see where the eyes are supposed to be in the mold
