Oh snap, that guy! ^

That should show you what it does better than a drunk explanation at the end of the night

How is the weight balancing issue on this guy? My plastic version can barely hold the sword, and the hips are atrocious.

Sword is good. There are pegs on the sword & shield, holes in the lion's mouth. Shoulder and elbow joints are functional. Red Lion's head rotates 360 degrees, so at times it will start falling over if the sword is straight up. But, if you do it right, stays.

Hips - same thing as yours I'd guess. It's straight up, or nothing. The "quarter click" is non existent, it goes a full 90 degrees, which then destabilizes the other leg, and next thing you know he's doing a split. Shame cuz it has knee joints and the lions heads can rock a bit. If they controlled the hips, could make for some real dynamic poses.

Excellent photos I always like the ones with dark backgrounds. I have the plastic version from a few years back(misleadingly labeled metallic version just because of the chrome though there's no actual diecast). Joints are looser than I would like but I hear it balances better than the diecast version.

Nonetheless, the main reason all of us have this is because Bandai has yet to make an SOC successor to the Popy Godaikin DX Golion(Lion Voltron). For Toynami, MPC Voltron was like their best release prior to their MPC Beta Fighters(also designed by Daisuke Fukuda). However I think we all await the day Bandai finally manages to make an SOC Voltron and Bluefin brings it over.
