Happy belated, MTMTE! Sorry I couldn't say it on the day, but I was too busy tying one off for you!

...wow, that means I've been actively collecting toys for almost 30 years now. Damn, I feel old.

Can anyone tell me what this is? I saw it yesterday at TRU but it doesn't look like it should be here.

Wow nice, it's the Year of the Dragon Optimus Prime they put out for Chinese New Year. Basically a repaint of the ultimate OP DOTM.

I didn't even know what to search to find it. So, it was released domestically then? I thought it was odd only one showed up.

Was released in Asia, in N. America I'm not quite sure, but Amazon had them listed on their site.

I see. I noticed the ebay prices are pretty high. I wonder if it's something I should pick up and hold onto for a few years to see if it becomes sought after.

That Springer might be a decent base for a prebeast Waspinator. Wouldn't take much work to convert it.
Springer's a nobody for me, plus I have the Cyb Evac repaint for him, making the new one useless.
But seeing these pics, I might snag him just as custom fodder for Waspinator (A much cooler character)

Technically, yes. It's an Amazon exclusive on this side of the Pacific. Why it was at a retail store in NA is beyond me.

I can't wait for the new Generations toys to start showing up in my area. I've seen the first wave of FOC, but nothing else.

I like the new packaging, though. Nice update from the first version.

This will make the 6th or 7th Springer toy I will have bought. While I do think Waspinator is a great character, I have a certain fondness for Springer toys. His G1 toy was the first triple-changer I ever owned and the only one of the six that actually made sense since both alt modes were Cybertronian and therefore had no scale issues.

Even still, I'd love to see pics of a finished Waspinator custom, when/if you get around to it CJ.

I'm interested in getting the Toys R Us Masterpiece Optimus Prime (MP-10 Mold), but I don't like the look of his plasma cannon. Does anybody (3rd party) make Optimus Prime's gun without the hinge in it? Like a scaled down version of the one that came with MP-01?

I don't know of any offhand, but given enough time one of them will eventually get to it.

I thought there was a weapon pack released at one point that had rifles which were supposed to work with Classics, ROTF and one other version of Optimus. But I don't know if it would scale very well with MP-10.

Recently picked up Hasbro MP Optimus, and haven’t been able to stop smiling since. Probably my best acquisition in 2 years, he is that good!

And with a Toys R Us 25% off coupon, only paying $112 for him was that much sweeter!

They retail at $149.99 in Oz. It takes too long to explain the stupidity behind that price.

The first shipment sold-out in all states in the first weekend, with not one popping up on eBay!

Possible, but unlikely. That pack is about a year old now, though some TRU stores have been know to still carry toys that are more than 2 years old.

I could use a little help. By scrolling up and seeing bmorr's picture I now know that there's a Springer (which I must own) in this Chinese wave or whatever the hell it is, but was hoping someone could fill me in on what others there are and why the packaging is multilingual (is Hasbro just generalizing their packaging now or were these intended for Asia or what?).

Also, is this the same exact CJ that's in the TF: Prime animated line? ..different paint? ..different head? ..or is it identical?

Here's what I just saw at TRU..

Here's what I bought..

I went there hoping for MP Prime, but no luck. They did have four MP Thundercrackers though; so if anyone needs him maybe get to TRU this week. The price went up $5 ($75) from the original shipments though.

Hi OV, very nice haul. Here's the newest Voyagers that were released as well.
Generations GDO China Import Voyager Class Assortment Released at US Retail - Transformers News - TFW2005

As for the other ones, there's also Wheelie that's missing from that pile, which is using the Special Ops Jazz RTS mold, but with different colors. Springer as well who I forgot which mold he uses...

As for CJ, yup he's very identical to TFP CJ, just tweaked a bit different in transforming and a bit bigger. But since you already got him, I'm sure you'll know

The GDO's are TRU exclusive and were released in Asia therefore the Chinese language on them and I forget what the GDO actually stand for, but on the TWF site you can find out. Sorry didn't get a chance to look for the actual thread. Hope this helps.
