Yep, Hasbro have really delivered!
Actually as crazy as this might sound, I don't really want any new molds now - Skids as a repaint of RTS Jazz, Hoist from Trailbreaker, Sandstorm from Springer, iGear to downsize Cogz and Fansproject to make a Defensor and I'll be done!!! Rhinox especially looks amazing, I'm not much of a BW fan but he looks spot on. I think once all these figures are out that just about concludes my business with Hasbro for Transformers, if they care to do better versions or slightly more obscure characters then all well and good, otherwise "so long Hasbro and thanks for all the fish"!!!

Skids is my favorite thing revealed in that album, along with Goldbug. If you take notice with Dreadwing, he uses the G2 faction symbols.

I'm pretty pleased overall with the reveals from Botcon, except the up-scaled Legion figures. Definitely smacks of Dollar Store/Big Lots knock-off toys. (Which is fine for those of you who are into that sort of thing. I personally can't stand KOs due to the poor quality of the plastic).
I might pick up the Predaking re-issue if the retail price isn't too hurtful. But since I already own a complete G1 version, it's something I can pass on without any regret. And I love redecos for three reasons: 1) sometimes it gives us a great-looking new character (like BH Legion Prowl); 2) sometimes the new deco looks better or is far more entertaining than the original (DOTM Cyberfire BB); 3) it can be an easy pass which saves me money. Yes, that's why it's only speculation at this point. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, all the same. Typing's a pain, tho.

And after much delay, here's the pics I promised you: FOC Wreckers (w/their additional weaponry) [l to r: Roadbuster, Topspin, Impactor, Whirl, Twin Twist] FOC Ruination (official combined form) Technically, the twin cannon behind Ruination's head is not supposed to be there (it's supposed to be used as part of his BFG), but it's such an integral part of the combined form's structural integrity, I still use it there. Comparison pic of FOC Bruticus and FOC Ruination It's also a little ironic that the remolds of the FOC Combaticons merge to a combined form called Ruination. In RID, a remolded version of G1 Bruticus was released and dubbed "Ruination" for that series. The RID Ruination was still a Decepticon, unlike his FOC counterpart.

yeah i passed on those guys. i wasnt thrilled with the combaticons quality. im not spending another 60 dollars for the same experience. I am glad were getting a voyager sized whirl. with springer and sandstorm getting the same treatment, it would be unheard of to see more voyager sized wreckers in the future.

Honestly, I think I like the FOC Wreckers better than the FOC Combaticons. The additional weapons and the new headsculpts made it worth double-dipping, for me. I will probably try to snag upgrade kits for them both in the future, though(I know there's one for each flavor of Bruticus coming, but I hope they go one more and do one for Ruination too).
I wouldn't put it past HasTak-To (...sounds like a board game) to leave the remaining Wreckers out of the voyager treatment. For me, it all depends on the continuity they use as a source, since the membership has varied over the years. If we take the most consistent members, then we have Twin Twist, Topspin, Roadbuster and Broadside left to be made/announced. Assuming they make a mold for either Twin Twist or Top Spin, the other will be an easy remold/recolor. Roadbuster's mold could probably come from an existing toy or have its own redeco potential. My biggest hope is that we get a new Broadside. Not only is he a Wrecker in multiple continuities, but he's the last of the 3 G1 Autobot triple-changers to get a modern update.

Predaking is the largest of the G1 combiners. All five G1 Predacons are deluxe-sized and the combined form is an impressive sight in person. Pictures really don't do it justice.

That would indeed be awesome. But I'd be just as happy with him as a voyager so he stays in scale with Springer and Sandstorm. If he does get an updated toy, it would probably have all Cybertronian alt modes anyway, so no more worries about an aircraft carrier turning into a commercial jet.

Yeah, it bugged me too - even as a kid. And while he was certainly the worst offender in that regard, nearly all of the triple-changers had that issue. The only exception, of course, is Springer due to his futuristic/Cybertronian alt modes.

review time!
Bumblebee: Im jaded on him right now considering I found some bad QC on him. Warped parts everywhere. I was so miffed that I ended up taking him back to the store. Unfortunately, like some twisted alternate universe, there were not other bumblebees there.... Anyways, he was reasonably easy to transform, and I did find a way to tuck his door part into his shoulder to make it less ugly. It is a pretty nice form though. It would have been an extra fan service to include his walking stick/cane. as reference to the comic he comes from. Hes does have an issue with his torso as his two halves can come apart. Trailbreaker. Out of the four, he was the easiest to transform. Like all the others, hes on the small side. On a positive note he feels solid and held together just right. The color scheme initially is what sold me on him, as it fits his original toy like a glove. My nitpick on him is that the headlights on his rook has a peg hole for a weaon which he doesnt have. it can be remedied by putting paxs blaster onto it. Orion Pax: This one had the most challenge, to me, transformation wise. Like trailbreaker, he has a poor choice in weapon placement, having the ax and gun be placed on the sides rather than the top. Even Kup gave you that option with his musket, giving multiple options for placement. His truckmode is surprisingly reminiscent to that post beast machines concept design for optimus eons ago. The sad part is that hes the same size as that cheap two pack optimus that was released at discount stores. But, hes also a splitting image of his original debut from the cartoon. I also wouldnt be surprised if they re package him with a different head for optimus down the line. Megatron: I have to say I enjoy this one alot. pretty solid transformer who is really fun to transform. Although not a bulky at generations scourge, hes still got a pretty large wingspan in his stealth mode. He also suffers the same weird pattern of having pegs holes for weapons he doesn't actually have, although they are used in the robot mode for his cannon(which is really the tips of the winged pegged together). Construction wise, you'll find that his torso doesnt quite peg in right, it feels like it supposed to but doesnt. I feel that given his complexity, he really deserved to be a voyager, and not a deluxe.

Nice reviews. I'll probably end up picking them all up anyway, because I'm a TF addict.
Since Hasbro seems to be into the idea of up-sizing existing molds, maybe these will get that treatment some down the road.

Had some time to kill over the weekend, so I thought I'd do a quick photo shoot of my MP collection.
I plan on doing some close-up shots of Bluestreak, along with comparison pics with his G1 counterpart.

There's only two I really regret not getting and I might eventually track them down: Rodimus and MP-10. Sadly, I know both are going to make huge dents in my wallet.

Bluestreak was the first of the G1 Datsun Bros. I owned back in the day (I eventually got all three), so I had to get MP-18 first. I will probably get Prowl and Smokescreen eventually, but the US versions (assuming they come out in the US).
In fact, I like MP-18 so much I will most likely get the US release as well (again, if there is one). Especially if the US version's car mode has a toy-accurate deco instead of TT's toon-accurate version. Quote:
Also this should help you afford Acid Storm Transformers Masterpiece Action Figure - Acid Storm - Hasbro - Toys "R" Us
