2005 boards member tarzen has reviewed Optimus Prime from the Activators subline of Hunt For The Decepticons. This line features the automorphing transformation seen on the Animated Activators, but with movie characters this time around. However, unlike their Animated counterparts which were scout size, these movie versions are the size of deluxe figures in robot mode.

Hit the discuss button to see how this new figure turned out!

Transformers: War For Cybertron has finally been (officially) released to store shelves. TFW2005 has received and reviewed the Xbox 360 version of Transformers: War For Cybertron. We are fully aware that the game has hit the streets early in some locations, we feel obligated to share our feelings with those that might be looking for a full length review from a Transformers fans perspective.

Is it a good Transformers game? Is it a good game in general? Should you run out and buy this game right now? You should definitely check out our review if you are on the fence.

Freep.com has posted an article saying that the Transformers movie franchise will spend part of this summer in the Motor City.

Transformers 3 plans to film in metro Detroit in August, according to Gabriela Gutentag, a spokeswoman for the movie. Filming there is expected to last two to three weeks.

Several locations — including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and overseas locales — will be employed in the latest edition of the popular action series from director Michael Bay.

Scenes for the first “Transformers” were filmed in Detroit, including at the Michigan Central Station. Bay also filmed scenes here for the 2005 movie “The Island.”

“Transformers 3” has been approved for the state’s tax incentives for filmmaking, according to the Michigan Film Office.

With Botcon right around the corner, today we are going to do something a bit different with our Featured Ebay Auction. For today's feature, we have some exclusives from Botcon's of the past.

From dreaded 1996 Botcon, there's Onyx Primal, Botcon 2002 brought us the excellent Cyclonus, in 1999 we got the beautifully packaged Sandstorm, Botcon 2000 gave us Apelinq and finally Botcon 2001 brought us the stunning double whammy of Arcee and Tigatron.

Andthese are only scratching the surface of what Botcon has brought us. See photos of all of this features auctions by clicking the headline of the story.

This is a minor Update to the Transformers: Exodus news, released earlier.

Hasbro's Official Transformers Website has been updated to let the fans read the first 4 chapters of Transformers: Exodus.

"Telling one of the most important stories in the TRANSFORMERS canon, this novel explores and expands upon the origins of the super villain MEGATRON, leader of the evil DECEPTICONS, and the rise of OPTIMUS PRIME to leadership of the heroic AUTOBOTS.

TRANSFORMERS: EXODUS written by Alex Irvine takes fans deep into the secret lore of the TRANSFORMERS universe, charting the creation of the DECEPTICONS and the AUTOBOTS—and chronicling the civil war that divided them. At the center of this thrilling history are OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON, the ultimate hero and the ultimate villain, whose destinies are entwined with that of their home planet, CYBERTRON. Developed in close partnership with Hasbro, this is a canonical TRANSFORMERS tale that also relates to, and expands on, the story being told in the newly released video game, TRANSFORMERS: War for Cybertron, from Activision. Fans will not want to miss all of the details that can only be told in novel form, the moment OPTIMUS gains “PRIME” status, MEGATRON becomes his arch enemy and leader of the DECEPTICONS and their great civil war begins."

You can read the first 4 chapters by visiting Hasbro's Official Transformers Website.

THE OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS FAN & COLLECTORS' CONVENTION COMES TO ORLANDO FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

Interactive "HUNT FOR THE DECEPTICONS" Experience and Many More Activities Await Fans and Families at 16th Annual Event

ORLANDO, FL June 23, 2010 Fans of AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS will "ROLL OUT" and head to Orlando for the 16th annual TRANSFORMERS Collectors' Convention, hosted by the TRANSFORMERS Collectors' Club and Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS). Thousands of TRANSFORMERS fans from around the world will converge at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort on June 26th and 27th to celebrate more than 25 years of "MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE" action and excitement at what is widely known as "BOTCON."

At this year's BOTCON, Hasbro is launching the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame to honor those influential in creating and building this iconic entertainment brand as well as actual "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE."

"The TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame celebrates Hasbro's global entertainment property that has sparked the imagination of millions of kids over the past 26 years and remains one of the world's most iconic brands," said Greg Lombardo, senior global marketing director for TRANSFORMERS. "We are excited to induct the first TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame class during the convention's visit to Orlando".

In addition to TRANSFORMERS influentials Bob Budiansky, Peter Cullen, Hideaki Yoke and Kohjin Ohno being inducted, favorite robot characters OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, MEGATRON and STARSCREAM are members of the inaugural class. Hasbro will also announce and induct the "fan's choice" robot character, voted on by the TRANSFORMERS fan community, at a special TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame induction ceremony event at BOTCON on Saturday, June 26 in the evening.

This year's convention will feature, for the first time ever, an interactive experience celebrating the launch of the global "HUNT FOR THE DECEPTICONS" online gaming promotion. In this experience, convention attendees can help the heroic AUTOBOTS locate and thwart the evil DECEPTICONS. BOTCON 2010 is the only place fans can partake in this physical interpretation of the online gaming experience.

BotCon will also feature appearances by iconic voice actors from the recent TRANSFORMERS global blockbuster movies and animated television series, as well as the Hasbro TRANSFORMERS brand team members and other industry guests. The “Transformers 3” news conference held Wednesday at the Office of Emergency Management and Communications wasn't meant to stir up interest in the film, which will shoot in Chicago from July 10-Aug. 19, but to prepare the general public. For what? Jets flying by Willis Tower? Cars plummeting into the Chicago River? Shia LaBeouf's awkward return to the Walgreens on North Michigan Avenue? Nope... Traffic.

OEMC Executive Director Jose Santiago said the closures on LaSalle Street (8 p.m. July 9 to 5 a.m. July 12), the Michigan Avenue bridge (8 p.m. July 16 to 5 a.m. July 19) and Upper Wacker Drive (9 p.m. July 18 to 5 a.m. July 22) will have the most impact on traffic. He added that most of the movie's filming in Chicago will take place during daylight.

“It's an ambitious production … but we and the producers are committed to mitigating the disruptions and addressing community concerns,” said Chicago Film Office Director Rich Moskal.

What can Chicagoans expect from filming — besides traffic?

Moskal said recently a few “scenes they're planning could match if not exceed the spectacular stuff ‘The Dark Knight' production pulled off.”

Yes, he's talking about the 2008 Batman film that featured an 18-wheeler getting flipped over on LaSalle Street and a massive explosion that leveled the old Brach's Candy building on the West Side.

“Flying debris, flipping cars, stunts, that's the kind of stuff you'll probably be seeing here,” added Moskal.
