Richter of our sister site Cybertron.CA has shared pictures of the RenderForm Skyfall "Empyrean Espionage" upgrade kit. This upgrade kit turns your Walmart exclusive Universe Skyfall from a slick Silverbolt redeco into a full-on Generation 2 Cyberjet homage with a new head and different unique weapons. Richter's set also includes one of the special randomly inserted bonus pieces - a clear red plastic version of the new gun. It falls to us today to report the sad news of the passing of Ronald Gans, the voice actor who played Generation 1's Drag Strip. He passed away aged 79 on June 29 due to complications of pneumonia. In addition to voicing Drag Strip, Mr Gans will be remembered for Kanga and Roo on "Pooh Corner" and Sebastian the alley cat in the Disney Channel's "Dumbo's Circus", in addition to countless trailers, TV promos and other roles in a career that has spanned 50 years.

Recently posted to the Twitter account of @snakas is a new image of a reissue Predaking. This image shows Predaking standing next to a Transformers 2010 placecard, with more promotional art behind it.
This Predaking appears to have gold paint apps in place of the yellow parts from the original release. The place card states that it is 15,750 yen, which is roughly $179 US. No more is known about this piece at this time, or when we may be able to get our hands on it. |

Here's some news for those of you who sadly could not make it to Botcon this year (too bad, you missed a great show!). If you ordered an Iacon or non-attendee package, you might want to keep an eye open for the mailman - according to 2005 Boards member Primeconvoy1, they are now arriving! This year's set contains loving homages to the late European Generation 1 releases and Generation 2 toys, plus a couple of surprises. The set of five is made up of Autobot Spark, Clench, Generation 2 Breakdown, Streetstar and Sky Byte.

Treat this as a rumor for now, but several internet movie blogs including blastr.com are reporting on what the potential Transformers 3 opening scene is. If you do not want to be spoiled, STOP READING NOW!
Robotic activity is detected on Earth's moon. The news makes its way to the Oval Office of the White House, and when the president turns to face the audience, it is none other than John F. Kennedy. The year is 1961. This contact spurred the space race and JFK's insistence that the US be the first to get to the moon. If you have read that, discuss what you think it might mean on our 2005 Boards by clicking the discuss button. Remember for the time being, this is just a rumor, so it might not come to pass. |

The Tokyo Toy Show 2010 is now on, and Takara-Tomy have their Transformers display in full force with lots of new products! Highlights include:
- Wing Blade Optimus Prime - armor will have a metallic finish, while the Voyager Optimus Prime toy appears to be a crystal version. - The next Transformers Animated Lucky Draw will be a gold chrome version of Cybertron Mode Megatron. - Rodimus - will be more of a maroon, closer to the Generation 1 Animated Movie Rodimus colors. Looks very sharp. - Also looking sharp, Hydrodive or "Jet Pack" Bumblebee, who keeps up the trend of shiny gold Bumblebees in the Japanese Transformers Animated line. - Japanese Animated Samurai Prowl, Leader Bulkhead and Ironhide are all on display. Leader Bulkhead has some very nice weathering applications to distinguish him from his Hasbro release. - Autobot Alliance line was also on display - Takara-Tomy's version of Battle Blades Optimus Prime will come with the hooks rather than the swords. The Takara Sidearm Sideswipe will not feature the red applications from the US version. Elita-1, the Arcee redeco, was also on show. - EZ Collection Volume 5 was also on show. Contrary to our previous report, all eight toys in the set are redecos of their previous releases - Rampage and Long Haul are depicted in yellow, while Optimus Prime is decoed mainly in black for the combination with Jetfire. Skids and Mudflap are colored to resemble their Ice Cream Truck mode. Lastly, Scorponok is in his Striker Scorponok colors and Brawl is in his desert camo colors. - Masterpiece Movie Starscream was also shown and looks incredibly nice! He does not have the tattoos of the US Leader version, making this version a closer match for his 2007 incarnation. - As previously reported, a Predaking reissue was announced for the 2010 Celebration series. These new images confirm some of the paint application upgrades, including what appears to be a shiny finish on Razorclaw's lion head. You can also get a better look at the box. - Alternity Thundercracker was also shown. These images come to you from Snakas' blog, the AmiAmi blog, and the lion's share with the best and clearest images are all courtesy of 2005's very own Tekmen! Check them all out by clicking on the title of this story. |

Dengeki Online has posted an image from Tokyo Toy Show 2010 showing the new Movie Masterpiece MP-M01 Starscream on display, with a look at the box! Note that the box has similar graphics to the 2007 movie line. For those of you who prefer the F-22 Raptor alt mode sans tatoos, the look from the 2007 Transformers Movie, are willing to pay more, and like to keep the boxes for your Transformers, this release by TakaraTomy is right up your alley! In addition, Amazon.jp has updated with new official, high res imagery of the upcoming Starscream. Hit the title bar to see the latest update!

I hope with all the excitement surrounding yesterday's announcement of a Predaking reissue that you have not forgotten about these guys! HK-TF has shared a handful of images showcasing the Hasbro Seacons reissue in package. These images show off the excellent artwork on the side of the box, as well as showing the other side flap confirming all six members retain their original names, although a couple now have "Decepticon" prefixes to their names. Check out all the images by clicking on the link above, or the title of this story to view our mirror.

Japanese site getnews.jp has shared some images from the Tokyo Toy Show of Device Label Blaster. These images give you a much better idea of just how big Blaster is going to be - he is much bigger than a Deluxe, possibly even Voyager Class sized. These images also give us our first real look at the robot's back. Check out the images by clicking on the link above, or the title of this story for our mirror of them.

With filming of Transforners 3 returning to Chicago over the last 24 hours, more information and images of the area and of actual scenes are rolling in.
Luis Arroyave of the Chicago Tribune has a report from the set describing a few of the details from scenes and other items of note from the filming. While scenes of actors Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley attempting to escape the devastation on Michigan Avenue were filmed, there were also sightings of actor Josh Duhamel! Per the report, Ratchet is also fulfilling his caffiene need by stopping at a Starbucks. New images of the set and scenes, courtesy of the Chicago Tribune, can be found by clicking on the thumbnail to the left. |

Time to fill the gas tank back up and go out for the hunt! Good luck to everyone out there looking to get one of these new toys! |

2005 Boards member Peaugh has once again supplied us with reviews and images of an upcoming Transformers toy. This time out, it is Hailstorm, from the second assortment of Deluxe Class Hunt for the Decepticon series toys. Hailstorm is a squat yet powerful anti-aircraft tank featuring eight working missile launchers, but how does he measure up compared to other recent Transformers toy releases? Check out the images and a text review by clicking on the discuss link below, or if you prefer check out Peaugh's video review, it is embedded below:
