Entertainment Earth has added an image to their order for Generations Wave 4, which includes Dirge and Blurr! The image showcases the official photography for Blurr, who is based on IDW's version of the character and is a remold of Drift with new weapons and a new head, and Dirge, who is a reuse of the Transformers Henkei Dirge mold. They will be released two each per case of eight, with the remaining slots filled out by one each of Red Alert and War for Cybertron Optimus Prime, Megatron and Soundwave, all of whom are due for release in earlier waves of Generations.

Ever wonder about what goes into making a Transformers convention? What goes on behind the scenes and the unsung heroes whose work is always unconsciously appreciated? We recently had the chance to speak with Simon Plumbe aka Simes of our 2005 Boards, the organizer of Europe's largest Transformers Convention, Auto Assembly. Click here to read the full interview.
Of particular note, we can exclusively reveal here first that the next two guests who will be honouring Auto Assembly 2010 will be Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster. Jim and Bill will be known to Transformers Animated fans everywhere as the authors of the two extremely comprehensive Allspark Almanac Volumes. Their other credits include the two Generation 1 lineart compendiums, the Ark Archives. They will be joining Garry Chalk, Scot McNeil and Derick J Wyatt as guests of honour - so make sure you bring along those copies of the Allspark Almanac to get them signed by three of the people who made them possible! Remember, Saturday day passes for Auto Assembly 2010 are now sold out, with Sunday day passes and full weekend passes selling out fast! If this news has convinced you to attend, head over to Auto Assembly's homepage quick and get yourself pre-registered. Remember, only full weekend pass holders get entry into the Saturday night events which include a live script reading and a Gary Chalk concert! Also don't forget to head on over to the Arden Suite Lounge at 16:30 pm on Saturday 14th August for the official TFW meetup! |

It was another exciting day of movie magic in Chicago Saturday as shooting on Transformers 3 continued. This weekend, the Magnificent Mile has been center stage for all the action.
Hundreds of fans have enjoyed a front-row seat to all the filming, but some Chicagoans aren't too happy about all the traffic headaches and street closures associated with the shoot. The film's stars and director are well aware of that, and offered a special message via CBS 2 : Bay said Chicago figures prominently at the end of the movie. "Please allow me to formally apologize to the whole city for all of the traffic and for all of those extra blocks that you have to turn, just to get to where you're going," co-star Tyrese Gibson said. "But you know, we're bringing some energy to city, and we thank y'all for graciously allowing us to be here." "This has been awesome," Duhamel said. "I hadn't spent any time here, more than maybe a day or two, and obviously this is the best time of year to be here, and it's just beautiful." To read the entire article click on the Title Bar. It was another exciting day of movie magic in Chicago Saturday as shooting on "Transformers 3" continued. This weekend, the Magnificent Mile has been center stage for all the action. Hundreds of fans have enjoyed a front-row seat to all the filming, but some Chicagoans aren't too happy about all the traffic headaches and street closures associated with the shoot. The film's stars and director are well aware of that, and offered a special message via CBS 2: "Please allow me to formally apologize to the whole city for all of the traffic and for all of those extra blocks that you have to turn, just to get to where you're going," co-star Tyrese Gibson said. "But you know, we're bringing some energy to city, and we thank y'all for graciously allowing us to be here." Gibson, director Michael Bay and co-star Josh Duhamel stopped for a few minutes Saturday to pose with one of the Transformers characters – Bumblebee, in its pre-robot, automobile form – before an appreciative crowd. They praised the city of Chicago for its cooperation in creating a mock disaster scene on Chicago's world-famous retail row. "It's just a beautiful place. I've been all over the world, and this is truly a great place to shoot," Bay said. Michigan Avenue is "the most iconic view of the city, in both directions," Bay added. "It's not like an alley. It's beautiful architecture, 360 degrees." "This has been awesome," Duhamel said. "I hadn't spent any time here, more than maybe a day or two, and obviously this is the best time of year to be here, and it's just beautiful." Bay said Chicago figures prominently at the end of the movie. "That will get around the world, so it will be good for tourism," he said. Daley, who toured the Mag Mile disaster set, was impressed with what he saw. "It's unbelievable, especially when everything goes flying," the mayor said. The traffic tie-ups will continue through Sunday. Michigan Avenue is closed from Wacker to Ontario. So if you're in the area, take Clark south across the river and Dearborn north. Michigan will re-open by 5 a.m. Monday. The film production is expected to pump more than $20 million into the local economy and generate 200 jobs. CBS 2's Suzanne LeMignot and Mai Martinez contributed to this report. |

This version of Bonecrusher is redecoed to include battle damage, based on wounds that he took in his epic battle with Optimus Prime on the highway outside Mission City at the end of the 2007 live action movie. We still don't know how this toy will be released, but for now, enjoy these new images!

It was only few hours ago that Jose Lopez introduced himself to the Transformers Community. It seems that David Hartman has followed suit. Updating his DeviantArt page Mr. Hartman said…
"I've disappeared from posting stuff for quite awhile now. I have been working on a very tight-lipped show as both the supervising director and art director. Well I am now allowed to announce that the show is... TRANSFORMERS: PRIME ...for Hasbro studios. I can not answer any questions now but I will speaking at a panel at the San Diego Comicon along with character designer Jose Lopez and executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci and Jeff Kline. Please come by and check out the new show we have been working so hard on... This will be the one day I am at the con and will not have a table this year so please come by and introduce yourself after the panel or if you have a copy of my artbook I would be happy to draw a zombie in there." This is a quick little update to the news we saw early about the new character standee for Transformers 3.
Answering to Fan Speculations, Nelson of the Shoot For The Edit (Michael Bay’s Official Website) said "Wrong, no Kup". Whether this statement is part of a misinformation campaign or not is yet to be found out. If true, then and only then Transformers Fans can cross-out Kup from the WishList. Another quick update. This time for the famous NASCAR Trio spotted during the Chicago Filming of Transformers 3.
Nelson over at the Shoot For The Edit stated that the NASCAR Trio are not Stunticons or Omnibots. "...but all I'll tell you is that they're not Stunticons or Omnibots." Again, we do not know whether this is a part of the Misinformation Campaign. But, now at least we have an official statement about them. Just to make a recap... Nelson said : #1 - The new robot is NOT Kup and Kup's not in the movie. #2 - The new robot is NOT Perceptor. #3 - The NASCAR Trio aren't Stunticons or Omnibots. We will wait and see what Nelson might say next. |

Thanks to our sister site Cybertron.CA, we have with us the Answers and a Summary of the Hasbro Panel at TFCON 2010.
A Special Thanks should go out to our friends at Hasbro Canada for taking the time to give the attendees a sneak peek at the upcoming Transformers toylines this past weekend at TFcon 2010. And the burning question of "Will Canada receive the HUB and Transformers: Prime?" finally gets an official exclusive answer. You can click on the Title Bar to read the summary of the Q&A Session. Thanks to our sister site Cybertron.CA, we have with us the Answers and a Summary of the Hasbro Panel at TFCON 2010. A Special Thanks should go out to our friends at Hasbro Canada for taking the time to give the attendees a sneak peek at the upcoming Transformers toylines this past weekend at TFcon 2010. 1) How are characters chosen for toys - is there a sort of round table discussion to decide? When characters have been chosen, what kind of process goes from the decision to make a character through to putting the figure in a package. How does this happen for "updates" in the Generations line? It is indeed very much like a round table discussion. The TRANSFORMERS Global Brand and Design teams will sit down together and say “this is what we have to work with” or “this is what would like to work with” then we look at what we have done recently and perhaps at some characters who haven’t received a figure in the past few toy lines. And, sometimes we like to create entirely new characters such as the recent TOMAHAWK figure. We’re very excited to be releasing this brand new character in figure form. To answer the second part of the question, the process is similar for the Generations line. We look through our “heritage characters” across all eras of TRANSFORMERS and try to update them to fit in the modern world. As aesthetics and technology have changed since many of the TRANSFORMERS characters were originally conceived – and in order for a character to fit in and really be a “robot in disguise” - their designs need to be so they can hide in plain sight in the modern world. 2) Does Hasbro ever ask the general fans and collectors for input on the figures before they are finalized and ready for production ? Hasbro certainly keeps its ear to ground with the fan and collecting community. We want to be sure we are delivering products that are meaningful to both kids and fans, however we cannot accept unsolicited outside design, character or toy concepts. 3) Will the hub be carried by Canadian cable providers? Will any Canadian channels carry Hub content (such as YTV)? Plans are not finalized but we are very excited about this new animated series. We look forward to being able to deliver this new series to all Transformers fans in Canada – stay tuned! 4) Most deluxe figures released last year had somewhat generic packaging with co-sells on the back of the card. The bio and tech specs were instead printed on the back of the instruction sheet. This was, however, discontinued starting with the N.E.S.T. line. Which style will be used going forward for Canadian releases? Bios on the card back or bios on the back of the instructions? The fall deluxe figure assortments will have dedicated character cards with character specific bios on the back of each card. 5) Will the current more generalized direction of the Transformers toy lines be halted for the release of the new movie next year, or will there be enough room for a movie line and a separate line like "Generations" at the time time? While it is still too early to discuss our line plans for 2011, when we developed the Generations line we approached it as a line that will have longevity and we don’t anticipate that it will go away anytime soon. Of course this all depends on how well it is received by fans and kids. The exciting aspect of the Generations line is that it can house many different characters from many different parts of the 26 year TRANSFORMERS lore such as characters from the War for Cybertron video game, characters from “G1,” etc. 6) Please go into more detail about retailer exclusive color schemes decided? Is there a catalog of potential colorschemes/molds that retailers are given to choose from? What departments design these potential figures? What happens to designs that are not chosen, are they discarded, or kept for use later? Do all retailers have access to the same choices? We definitely look to team up with our retailers to deliver compelling products for their respective exclusives, however Hasbro ultimately decides the color schemes for each figure. We approach our exclusives similar to how we approach our “main line” items and ask ourselves the following questions: what hasn’t been seen recently, what makes the most sense, etc. Ultimately, we always want to make sure that we are putting out the best iterations of each character regardless of if it is a retailer exclusive or not. 7) Are there internal procedures in place at Hasbro for what is done with prototypes, resin hardcopies, or other such products relating to unreleased/cancelled figures? Are they given to or kept by the designer, thrown out / destroyed, archived in some manner, or something else entirely? The team really looks to archive as much as possible – a brand like TRANSFORMERS is integrally tied to its history so we are very sensitive to what is kept and what is not. 8) Can you go into more detail about how collaboration between Hasbro and Takara works, especially in terms of design? Is bilingualism a necessity for wokring in design, or are translators used extensively? Are there certain aspects of the design process that each company is specialized towards? The relationship between Hasbro and Takara Tomy is truly based on teamwork. We try not to approach the TRANSFORMERS line as two separate companies, but rather as one big team focused on collaborating to deliver the best figures possible to our fans. Sometimes there are definitely language barriers, however both sides of the team are so passionate about the brand that we’ll take the extra time to ensure everyone is on the same page and understand anything that may have been lost in translation. Both Hasbro and Takara Tomy work towards delivering the best products possible and that the brand essence remains true. 9) What aspects does Hasbro look for in terms of licensing out their brands to other companies for products beyond toys (eg. cards, bath products, candy, posters, etc.)? When looking at potential licensees, Hasbro always wants to make sure that each license is complimentary to the TRANSFORMERS brand and that it makes sense from a business perspective. But most of all we want to make sure that each item – be it a new novel, comic book, video game or bedding – maintains the essence of the TRANSFORMERS brand. 10) What is the job of Hasbro Canada? There is very much a collaborative relationship between each country and the global brand team. Product direction, storylines, relationships with the filmmakers and the brand strategy is managed by the global brand team, with feedback from each country (both the fans and Hasbro). Each market is then responsible for executing that plan relevant to their individual market’s needs. Transformers is a global brand and the objective is to ensure a consistent message across the globe, while tailoring that message to the appropriate use of the local market. |
