Concept artist Ken Christiansen has posted a bit lengthy yet informative update regarding his involvement with Transformers: Prime.

"...I, along with other artists, got asked by Hasbro to draw some ideas. Those ideas all got thrown into a pot. My involvement is now over.

Hasbro takes that pot across the hall to Hasbro Studios, and gives it to the studio guys, and says "take the best of this, and mix it with whatever you guys have on the stove." They take what they want, and over the long development process, ideas are re-purposed, expanded on, or simply ignored. That is the nature of the creation process.

Like everyone else, I had to wait until SDCC to see the clip of the show, the only final characters I've seen are on the Hub - I did my work and was done many months ago, and now I'm seeing the new and final character designs as you all are, when you are, with fresh eyes, and as a fan excited and inspired by the next evolution of Transformers..."

Important: Folks, keep in mind that the sketches we saw yesterday are just Fan Art only. The title "Artist Ken Christiansen On Transformers: Prime Concept Art" emphasized his contribution and you have to read the Article to get the big picture, saying that it was Fan Art inspired from the series, not for the series.

Takara-Tomy have updated their website with pages for a huge amount of new releases. Heading up the new pages is a new Lucky Draw campaign toy, Silver Animated Bumblebee - to get this Bumblebee, you have to purchase 3,000 yen or more at participating stores between 18 September and 31 October, then mail in the entry postcard you receive in order to be entered into the draw. For more information, see our Resources page - Lucky Draw Silver Animated Bumblebee.

Also in this update are the September Transformers Animated releases - TA-38 Wingblade Optimus Prime, TA-39 Jet Pack Bumblebee and TA-40 Ratchet Cybertron Mode. Pages have also gone up for the various October Animated releases - TA-41 Optimus Prime Light & Sound, TA-42 Oil Slick, TA-43 Ironhide Light & Sound, TA-44 Armorhide and TA-45 Decepticon Shockwave Original Ver.. There are also pages for the Transformers Animated Super Collection Vol. 1 and Super Collection Vol. 2, which are the Japanese releases of the Animated Activators. None of the releases appear to be significantly different to their US versions, other than now sporting full color faction logos.

Last but not least, a page has also gone live for the Japanese "Autobot Alliance" movie series toys which are due to debut in Japan shortly and include the toys sold in the US under the "Hunt for the Decepticons" promotion, as well as a more detailed page for the 2010 celebration reissue of Predaking.

Sideshow Collectibles have updated their blog with some further details on their upcoming Moive Optimus Prime maquette including the one all-important detail you've all been waiting for - the price. Priced at $1,199.99, this is aimed squarely at the high-rollers in our community - but if you check out the gallery that Sideshow Collectibles have released, or indeed are familiar with their previous work, you'll know the high standard that you can expect with the pricetag.

This update also reveals that there will be two versions of the Optimus Prime maquette - a regular edition, and an Exclusive version, which will be limited to 100 pieces, and will include additional switchable Energon Swords for more display options.

Both versions will go up for preorder this Thursday, August 26th, on a first-come, first-served basis.

we have received a solicitation - and the awesome Diamond Edition cover - for Transformers Timelines Issue 5. This comic debuted at Botcon 2010 as the comic accompanying the Generation 2 Redux exclusive set. Now for those who could not make it to the convention, or for those of you who want the Diamond Edition for the additional content including extra character profiles, the time has come for you to reserve your copy. This solicitation will appear in the September edition of Previews on page 277:

After the Rebirth of Cybertron it seemed the galaxy would finally be at peace, but a new battle has begun! A "second" generation of Transformers, born on Earth and considering this planet to be their true home, find themselves fighting to prevent the outlaw Decepticon Clench and his rebels from putting the lives of both Autobots and Humans at risk. Though the confrontations have been relatively contained, a new player has entered the game: Sky-Byte, a Predacon from Quintessa who has apparently unlocked the secret of Transformer superpowers! Get ready for all the mayhem as the Transformers from Generation 2: Redux go toe to toe in an all out super-powered battle!

Robby Musso is behind the amazing art in this issue of Timelines, based on the amazing convention set first seen at BotCon 2010! Featuring exclusive character Profiles and other bonus content. Diamond edition cover by Alex Milne.

So maybe this answers the question of whether Barricade died or not. From the Transformers Movie(2007) comes a prop of Barricade, well half of him!

A listing on craigslist has turned up for half of Barricade. Here's more info from the seller:

This Front half of a Saleen Mustang was built for the movie Transformers and was actually used in the movie. It was in the scene in the junk yard where barricade is chasing Sam, then Sam jumps on the hood. The front headlight is removed for where the eye comes out and thats why there is the pole behind the steering wheel, it controlled the movement of the camera. Make an offer. This is very rare and would be perfect for a car collector or a collector of movie memorabilia.

Transformers 3 Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura had a chat with John Byrne of Chicago Breaking News Center regarding the Chicago Filming. Final day of Chicago Filming is now listed as 1st of September.

"It's funny, we keep extending it here because we're having such a good time, to tell you the truth," Di Bonaventura said. "We were supposed to leave a few days ago, actually, and we kept extending it. Right now, around September 1st, but if we have any say in it, we'll keep staying here."

Meanwhile, Mayor Daley said he's not troubled by his lack of a cameo in the film, but added that if a 'Mayor Daley' character was part of the script, he would be the only one capable of playing the role. "They would have to select me, and there's no way," the mayor said.

Actor Lester Speight (Transformers 3 Hardcore Eddie) also left a Twitter Update thanking the city and entertaining us with a photo of his N.E.S.T Squad: “Thanks Chicago, for showing Transformers 3....See for the Premier....July 2011”. Click on the Title Bar to see the Image.

You can enjoy the Lorenzo di Bonaventura Video below by ABC News with lots of stuff going on. See if you can spot anything special.

Chris Ryall, IDW Publishing's Publisher/Editor-in-Chief updated his blog with some teasers from the upcoming Transformers 3 Prequel Comic; Transformers: Sector 7.

“In September, we’re starting something with TRANSFORMERS that’s going to feel a bit different than what we’ve done before. I think this one might sneak up on people a bit, but it actually is the start of a huge storyline, so I wanted to put a bit more focus on it.

Issue 1 of the 5-part TRANSFORMERS: SECTOR 7 kicks off the last week of September, and what it really is is the first chapter of a big story that will ultimately lead into the third TRANSFORMERS movie. The book’s written by John Barber and features Joe Suitor on art and colors, and you can see from the first two covers and one of the pages from issue 1 that this will be something out of the ordinary as far as TRANSFORMERS go. It delves deeper into the Sector Seven organization introduced in the first TF movie and fleshed out in our past TF movie-related comics. And like I say, it’ll be an important storyline as we build toward next summer’s big movie release.”

Transformers : Sector 7 issue #1(of 5) will hit your local Comic Book Stands on 22nd September, 2010.

Let the wallet crying continue as Hasbro continues to release everything at the same time! First it was HftD Scouts wave 2, the new coloring of Legends Devastator, HftD Legends, and finally Wave 2 of Deluxe HtfD figures.

Now we have several members reporting that Generations Wave 2 (which includes War for Cybertron Megatron, and Darkmount(Straxus)) is on shelf and waiting to be picked up. It's been located up and down California's coast as well as seen (and photographed) in Bettendorf, IA. I know once I get time, money, and a lot of luck, I'll be out there hunting with my fellow TF fans so good luck to you all!

Update:2005 Boards member exomega255 reports finding not only the Wave 2 but also Generations Wave 3 at the Toys 'R Us in Carle Place, New York. Wave 3 introduces Red Alert and Cybertronian Soundwave. Check out the picture proof!

The first wave of the Speed Stars-branded Versus Packs have been released at retail in the United States, with five packs found at a Walmart in East Dundee, Illinois. The five packs are the first five numbered packs in the "Battle Series 2" series of Speed Stars vehicles. In what is good news for most RPM/Speed Stars fans, the assortment contains the figures from the last few rare assortments of RPM two-packs. Found were Optimus Prime vs. Bonecrusher, Optimus Prime vs. Desert Long Haul, Nightwatch Bumblebee vs. Patrol Barricade, Sideswipe vs. Wreckloose, and Jetfire vs. Megatron. The sixth set in "Battle Series 2", which has not seen and confirmed as part of the first assortment, was listed on the package-back as Enforcer Ironhide vs. Mixmaster.

Of note is that, unlike previous pre-release figures, Wreckloose's etched name on the underside of the car remains Sideways while the two versions of Optimus Prime available are missing the round insignia on the underside of the vehicle.

Check out picture proof of the sighting, including a picture of each pack, by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.

It's that time again - no, not another news update full of failed attempts at wit and humor from yours truly (that will come when I don't work in less than 7 hours), it's time for another TFW2005 Sound-Off!!!

The Transformers have been around for over 25 years. That's older than half of our user-base (gross uneducated estimation)! In those 25 plus years, we've had NUMEROUS Transformers series, each with their own specified titles. If you'd like to count them, in no specific order and probably one or two left out, they are:

Generation One, Generation Two, Machine Wars, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise, Universe, Armada, Energon, Alternators, Titanium, Cybertron, Classics, Movie, Universe 2.0, Animated, Revenge of the Fallen, Generations, and arguably, Hunt for the Decepticons. If you want to get even MORE creative, you can throw in Masterpiece and Beast Wars 10th Anniversary as they were actual, named, labeled toylines. Well, except for Masterpiece ... kind of. But sort of.

We've gathered and compiled a small list of series that haven't received much love, one or less figures released in the last handful of years, and literally no storyline attached to those figures since their initial conception. And we want you to vote for a series that you think needs a little more love. Example ... Beast Wars was given a 10th Anniversary celebration, complete with new molds for old figures! Do you think Machine Wars, Robots in Disguise, or Beast Machines got any love for their anniversaries? Do you think Tidal Wave will ever make another appearance?

Stop wasting time and vote on your favorite forgotten series!

Yes, we've failed to list some series due to their continued popularity and vague Hasbro replies about the future of those series (Beast Wars). We've also left out recent releases (in the last 18 months or so) of various toylines that are defunct - Animated, Titanium, Generation Two (BotCon anyone?).

Not a member of the TFW2005 Boards? That's easy-peezy to fix my friends! Simply register RIGHT NOW and then you can vote and make new friends! And who doesn't want new friends?

We'll eventually post up the results of our poll in a future update with some of your comments. Thanks for participating and who knows ... you never know who may be watching the results of our votes! Except Michael Bay, he's too busy blowing up Chicago. Like the Minnesota Twins. BURN!
