Higekuma Toy Toy Blog has updated with galleries of the two final mass retail releases in Takara-Tomy's Transformers Animated line. The line goes out with a bang, with Blazing Lockdown and Soundwave Electrostatic Version. There's some nice comparison shots in there - Electrostatic Soundwave adds some extra tribal tattoos, and also gives Ratbat more paint on his keyboard, a shiny silver head, and gold paint apps in the place of the US release's red. Blazing Lockdown goes for all-gold flames which seems like a double edged sword, more reflective, but less color contrast, so decide for yourself if you feel that is an improvement.

Also from Higekuma Toy Toy Blog is a gallery of Takara-Tomy's Autobot Alliance Elita-1. Unlike her US release, this version features a movie-accurate colorscheme, with lots of purple. Also on show are Hubcap and Brimstone from the Autobot Alliance series, who are fairly similar to their US releases. Click on the links above to check out the full galleries. Editor's pick of the best images after the jump.

In an update to our previous coverage about the use of the name "Spastic" on the leader of the upcoming Stunticons Power Core Combiners set, the outcry from some in the U.K. regarding the word's use as a slur has resulted in a name change, even though the set was not scheduled for release in the U.K. This was posted on facebook by Hasbro PCC lead designer Eric Siebenaler to TFW2005 member Draven earlier today.
So we'll have to see what happens to the little yellow Decepticon sports car with no name. Replacement names that have popped so far include Drag Strip, Decepticharge (ugh, that poor Alternator) and Spasma (as in the Headmaster partner of G1 Apeface). One wag in the previous discussion thread even suggested Wanker. Clever, but let's not push it. |

Nelson; who always maintains a good friendship with Michael Bay Fans, let us in on another tidbit from Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.
When asked about the IMAX 3D version of Transformers 3, he replied… “There will be a 3D reel but it's not in IMAX format (70mm). IIRC, they did not use Imax cameras this time around.” “Last I heard, these Sony 3D camera rigs aren't 70mm.” Nelson is referring to the Sony Pace 3D Camera. This is the same camera used by James Cameron for his movie “Avatar”. If you want to know more about the camera you can visit G4TV website and enjoy this documentary uploaded by them to , after the jump… Image Courtesy: Nelson Lauren from the Chicago set of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. |

One of the best things about the ongoing Transformers: Sector 7 is the Art. Transformers Comic Book Artist Joe Suitor is doing a magnificent job, to add uniqueness to the 5-Part Series acting as a Prequel to Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.
Today, Mr. Suitor updated his blog to reveal an artwork from IDW Publishing’s Transformers: Sector 7. This piece of art is the “Covers Poster” of all 5 issues. In other words, do this… Place all “Cover B”s (Alternate Covers) side-by-side once you get them by the end of January 2011, and you’ll get a one whole piece of artwork. This artwork is depicting, a Desk full of various documents from a child’s drawing (Joseph Simmon’s Daughter drew that in Issue #2. “Daddy and Megaman”.) to Classified Transformers (NBE) Sightings. Enjoy the Covers Poster by visiting Joe’s blog or by visiting the “Additional Images” section of this News Article. Since there are covers of upcoming Sector 7 Comic Books (4 and 5), beware of Spoilers. |

Thanks to Masabon of our 2005 Boards, we have more information regarding the eHobby exclusive Transformers 2010 campaign figures and information regarding how TakaraTomy will use the PowerCore Combiners Mini-Cons.
Although still just hidden in shadows, eHobby Japan will have two exclusive sets available. The Autobots set will have Hot Rodimus, Kup, and Scrap Heap, while the Decepticon set will feature Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge. While five of the figures seem to direct possible repaints of the original mold, Scrap Heap's silhoutte reveals that a remolded head from that of the Wreck-Gar figure. Three PowerCore Combiners Mini-Cons will also see a release in Japan. Available at select stores with the purchase of Transformers United figures will be Fracas, Recoil, and Haywire. Each Mini-Con will be molded in hues of black and grey to reflect their Generation One namesakes. New images after the jump! |

A seller on Chinese auction site Taobao has listed an auction for a carded sample of Transformers United Straxus. Transformers United is Takara-Tomy's spiritual successor to Transformers Henkei, and Japan's equivalent of Transformers Generations and Reveal the Shield. Straxus is the Japanese version of Darkmount, who has a distinctly more "blue" colorscheme.
Check out the packaging and see what you think of it after the jump. |

A little bird tells me that the next wave of Power Core Combiners five packs have been released at US Retail. The Power Core Combiners Grimstone with Dinobots and Steamhammer with Constructicons have been sighted at a Walmart in Colorado! They are in stores, but not ringing in at the registers so most stores are pulling them to the back. Mad props to our tipster Ed and the ever-loving Kickback for the heads up!
Stay up to date with the latest sightings for your area by checking out our Transformers Sightings section. |

Today's Featured Ebay Auction shows off a Generation 1 item that isn't as rare as some people think. However, it's much harder to find sealed in its baggy like today's auction. So we present a Sealed 1985 McDonald's Happy Meal Green "Cliffjumper". These were released solely in St. Louis as a test market promotion.
I've cleaned up the photos. Click the headline of the story to see them. |

With sightings of the newly released Grimstone and Steamhammer picking up pace, we've got a look at their bios and tech specs, courtesy of 2005 Boards member RedCometCustom. Their bios fit clearly into the "fun" end of Transformers bio, with an altruistic Dinobot, and a "yeah, there's another bunch of Constructicons - so what?" style comment on Steamhammer's bio. Check them both out in our Transformers Resources section by clicking on the links below:

With Transformers Prime set to premiere on the 26 November, what better way to see in the new show than a marathon of the show that started it all? Starting at 2am Thanksgiving night, The Hub will be running a Transformers marathon. According to 2005 Boards member Thundershot, the marathon will include the classic Generation 1 multi-part stories More than Meets the Eye, The Ultimate Doom and Dinobot Island. Be sure to set your DVRs, and while you're setting them, don't forget about Transformers Prime, this Friday the 26th at 4pm, with a special behind the scenes sneak peek at 3:30 pm (1 pm and 12:30 pm Pacific, respectively).

There's a new unofficial third party on the product by a new group. This new group, Gear4Toys, is kicking off with an upgrade kit for Generation 1 Ironhide and Ratchet. But what these sets also add are new shoulders and arms, for a better proportioned upper body, LED eyes and chrome finished guns.
Unfortunately though full assembled look leaves the lower bodies looking rather small and puny. Maybe Hasbro will make some new versions of these characters, possibly with Takara-Tomy making versions with different paint apps and added chrome. |

In 2004, when Dreamwave comics ceased publication several of their series were left unfinished - among them the comic version of Transformers Energon. Simon Furman, who wrote the whole series with a strong arc throughout, has begun to post up summaries of what might have transpired in the five part finale in a series of blog posts. Check out the first blog post to get back up to speed with where events were at as of issue #30, and then proceed onward to read all about the events that begin in issue #31, the first part of "Doomsday Redux"!

Thanks again to forum member Masabon we can bring you more updates on the previously mentioned e-Hobby exclusives sets of Hot Rodimus, Kup, and Wreck-Gar and Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge.
The Autobot set will contain a clear blue version of Hot Rodimus, a battle damaged version of Sergeant Kup and a remolded version of Wreck-Gar under the name of Scrap Heap. The Decepticon set will contain clear purple versions of Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge. Unfortunately, the update also informs fans that although the set originally had a set preorder date of 11/26 with a price of 7875 Yen, e-Hobby has withdrawn the date, postponing orders. |

The Transformers Collector's Club Store have made an excellent warehouse find - and several older, and previously out of stock, exclusives are now back available for order for a limited amount of time. Don't wait around too long though, because these are selling out FAST with the Botcon 2006 and 2008 boxed sets flying out of stock and the Seacons right behind them. But the 2009 Wings of Honor set - including Thunderclash, Young Kup, Flak, Landshark and Scourge - as well as the awesome 2010 Generation 2 Redux set are still in stock with limited numbers. Also available at greatly reduced prices are Airazor and Astrotrain, on offer for $25 and $49 each to Collector's Club members. Want to cash in on these discounts? Head to the Transformers Collector's Club homepage to find out how to join up today.
Head on over to the Transformers Collector's Club Store now to check out these restocked items. Supplies are limited, and this quite possibly could be the last chance you'll get to own some of these pieces at non-secondary market prices. |

Next up on the third party unlicensed custom toy front is this gallery of Mastermind Creation's Knight Morpher Annihilator. This toy is a black version of the Knight Morpher Commander aka Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime, and quite honestly looks sharper in the black and gold. It also comes with a couple of new accessories shown in these images - a sword, and a pair of train track pieces.
Also shown is a white version of the design, which is probably the previously mentioned Knight Morpher Magnus. |
