2005 Boards member Black Oracle recently had a chance to talk with Sumalee Montano, the voice of Autobot Arcee from Transformers Prime. Amongst other things in this insightful and informative interview, find out about how Ms. Montano got into the character of Arcee by taking Muay Thai kickboxing lessons, as well as how Ms. Montano sees Arcee as a character. Third party company, CrazyDevy has revealed a teaser for another upcoming Generation 1 gestalt team upgrade. It seems the recently re-issued Seacons will be at the forefront of their plans once January 2011 rolls along.
Will we see some deodorant for Skalor or new shoes for Overbite? Your guess is as good as ours, so let us know what you guys think Piranacon needs fixed on our boards after the jump. |

Remember last week Jim Sorenson shared with us the original draft script for Transformers the Movie? This week he's following up with a series of posts of equally cool stuff. When Ron Friedman was asked to produce the draft for Transformers the Movie, he was given a briefing binder, outlining the cast and characters of the 1984 - 1985 cartoon episodes, their bios, and various other matters of interest. There's absolutely loads of cool early Transformers history preserved and shared for you to enjoy, so head on over to the Disciples of Boltax and check out the first three parts of the briefing binder posted so far:

2005 Boards member SpicyRichter has shared with us a look at the upcoming Renderform DJ Rockblast accessory kit. This set is intended to upgrade Universe Blaster from a red Cybertron Soundwave into a fully fledged Blaster. It comes with three different faces, two heads and two visors, to allow you to mix and match parts for maximum customization. It also includes a very cool version of the Generation 1 Blaster gun, and a couple of other accessories that are being kept under wraps until the set is released.

You've had nearly a month to digest the series premiere of Transformers Prime, the new Transformers series on The Hub. You've all discussed the series premiere at great lengths on our message board. Many of you now sport various screen captures in your signatures showing your love (or hate) of this new series.
But let's get that unofficial official unofficial tally going, shall we? What did you think of the Transformers Prime premiere? As always, we'll take the best answers for each voting option and list them here on the frontpage in a future update. Keep discussion civil and let the world know if Transformers Prime is destined for greatness, or if it needs to go back to the drawing board. To vote, simply follow this link! If you're not a member of TFW2005.COM, that's pretty simple to fix. Just click here and register, then join in on the largest interactive Transformers community on the Internet! We'll have results in a couple of weeks! That amazingly awesome screen capture is of Soundwave from Transformers Prime. Credit to ourselves, TFW2005.COM, for getting that amazing high-quality image. The views represented in the outcome of this poll do not represent TFW2005.COM's stance, nor do the individual views of staff members represent the site as an individual entity's views. They have also put up pictures of the Autobot Alliance versions of Highbrow, Tomahawk and Terradive. Highbrow and Tomahawk each have some darker gray where the originals had lighter plastic, while Terradive has red on his wings in the place of white. Nothing significant compared to the cool looking alternate Hailstorm, which is why we tagged them on the end of this post! |

Joining Wreck-Gar and Detritus in the Junkion commune, E-hobby has now given us Scrapheap. Stealing Wreck-Gar's body parts, his noggin is a unique retool that drives him further apart from his leader's aesthetic. Sporting a visor and faceplate, sadly we get no facial hair on this Junkion, instead looking battle ready in facing the Recyclons.
Which new Junkion is your favorite? Let us now on our boards after the jump. |

All good things must come to an end - and Transformers Energon, as told by Simon Furman and Dreamwave comics, was no exception! Cut short by Dreamwave's insolvency, the final six issues of this epic saga were left unpublished, a story untold - until now! Simon Furman, as those following our frontpage will know, has been sharing summaries of the final six issues, revealing, piece by piece, what would have happened in the final arc of the series. The finale does not disappoint, tying up all the lingering plot points, and although the series does end on a cliffhanger, the ending fits together with the Transformers Cybertron cartoon series far better than Transformers Energon the cartoon series ever did!
Check out the final two summaries on Simon Furman's blog by clicking on the links below: Transformers Energon Issue 35 Part 2 - Armageddon Part 4 Transformers Energon Issue 36 - Armageddon Part 5 |

Some unreleased Generation 2 goodness on Ebay for you now, courtesy of Lee's Toy Review. Up for grabs are packaged samples of Generation 2 Combat Hero Optimus Prime (Blue Version), Combat Hero Megatron (gray version) and Ninja Cycle Soundwave. These toys never saw a mass retail release, and were only released to a very small test market - making them among some of the rarest Transformers items out there. The prices reflect this fact - but for items that were never mass released, that so very collectors can lay claim to owning, you might even argue that these are "priceless" items. If you've got the money, why not check out these auctions and see if the thought of owning a rare piece of Transformers toy history appeals to you.

Jim Sorenson has uploaded some more information from the 1985 Transformers Briefing Binder, which was given to Transformers the Movie writer Ron Friedman to get him up to speed on the background story of our favorite Robots in Disguise. Today's fourth update covers a section entitled "1985 products" and reveals some interesting information on the Dinobots - particularly that in this material there are only four of them listed! Could this be the reason for Snarl's exclusion from the largest part of Transformers the Movie?
Head on over to Disciples of Boltax, Jim Sorenson's blog, to check it out. |

Transformers War for Cybertron has picked up another "reader's choice" nomination - this time on Gamespot, for "Best Use of a Creative License". As the best Transformers game since Transformers Armada on Playstation 2, I'm inclined to go and vote for it - what other game out there lets you fly through the insides of a spacestation then fight it after it transforms into a gigantic robot?
War for Cybertron is up against some tough competition though, in the form of Disney Epic Mickey, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions guest starring Deadpool, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. If you feel War for Cybertron is more deserving of the award of "Best Use of a Creative License" click on the link below to register your vote! HK-TF has shared some new images of Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime. This toy is based on the Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime, who was redecoed as Scourge for Robots in Disguise. While we've seen some other images before, these show off the crazy amounts of poseability that this toy has. Make no mistake, the "Prime of Justice" is one toy that was designed to pull off all those crazy Hollywood swordfighting stances - just check out our pick of images after the jump - or click on the link above to view the complete gallery!

We've got three awesome little Transformers to share galleries of with you today. Reveal the Shield brings with up some very cool Legends Class toys, such as new versions of Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream. although reduced to pocket size they retain all the charm of their big brothers - and for me at least, Optimus Prime is the toy I was dreaming of back in 1996 when I got my first Beast Wars toys!

Some good news for our readers in Ireland (and potentially by extension the UK - read on!)
Reveal the Shield Deluxe Wave 1 has been sighted at the Smyths in Dublin (Jervis St). The only two on the shelves were Tracks and Jazz, although they were only present in small quantities so Mindset and Fallback might have already sold by the time 2005 Boards member miscreant made the sighting. How's this good for UKers? While Smyths is primarily a small Irish chain, they have an expanding presence in the UK. And while they don't always source stock from Hasbro UK, it's possible that all Smyths stores - UK included - might have some of the Classics Jazz goodness before long. It's of course also possible that the Spring release date we heard about has been moved up, and Hasbro UK are sending out cases of Reveal the Shield to retailers now. Stay up to date with your local sightings in our Transformers Sightings board. |

Along with higher resolution images of Reveal the Shield Wave 2 - featuring Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Perceptor and a badass Wreck-Gar - there are new official images of Generations Wave 6 Sergeant Kup and Scourge including our first look at both on their cards. Check out the impressive wingspan on Scourge - he barely fits into the standard sized packaging bubble!

Just showing how well the TF fandom can collectively work in preserving our franchise's history, TFW2005 member Monzo has kindly shared with us a link with scans for the 1985 Pre-Toy Fair Transformers Catalog he won from the recent Ron Friedman auctions. Monzo explains some of the G1 goodness found:
While not as interesting as the Pre-1986 Toy Fair catalog that the fandom banded together to win, there are still some interesting oddities, such as preproduction coneheads, Mini-Vehicles and Hoist. (And, yes, I realize most of the other US catalog links don't work. At the moment, just pre-1996, 1996, 1997 and 1998 do. More of the foreign ones are operational, though. I need to process more images...) Hit the jump to see the catalog mirrored on our site, or head over to Monzo's site where you can oggle more Toy Fair Catalog images. |
