Board member Masabon has shared images of the new Targetmaster campaign robots Haywire and Fracas for the Takara-Tomy United toy line. United went today on sale in Japan and we quote Masabon's post from our boards:

Good morning from Japan. It is a sale date of the UNITED toy today. I obtained a campaign item on the run by bicycle for one hour.
The item which I purchased is 5.
We had information that only around 10 was received in each store to this campaign item. I entered at the time of opening of a store and was able to obtain it safely.I contribute the photograph of the package first. I open TAGETMASTER after having eaten lunch.

Update now with Recoil images added to the gallery.

Narrowly avoiding the Skype blackout of 2010, Vangelus and the WTF@TFW podcast crash headlong into an unforeseen roadblock. Not even Gogdog's modelling prowess or Seth Buzzard's temeritous goonhole could prevent a technological tragedy.

Some interesting new listings have appeared in the UK Toys R Us computer systems - including our first real store computer listing for Hasbro's release of Masterpiece Rodimus. Other highlights include a Transformers 3 Cyberverse Ark Set - which is rumored to be the ship on the moon - and something called a Megaverse Evolution 4 Pack.

Please bear in mind, these are UK store listings and therefore do not necessarily relate to US listings - however, all signs point toward Masterpiece Rodimus, like Masterpiece Grimlock before him, being a Toys R Us exclusive.

Read on to view the complete listing.

A user on fellow toy board Actoys has shared what appear to be prototype images of a forthcoming Insecticon figure rendered in the Hearts of Steel style. It is unknown as of yet if this project is being undertaken by Mastermind Creations or Tobias Muldoon himself. Shrapnel seems like a faithful rendition including a Insectrain alternate mode (front section), which seems to indicate Bombshell & Kickback will be next. Click above to view all images.

We've got even more Generation 1 history to share with you all, courtesy of Ron Friedman's charity auction. This section of the information comes to you via 2005 Boards member kjeevahh, who has shared with us the early synopsis and character writeups - complete with handwritten notes in the margin - for the original 1986 Transformers the Movie. There's some very cool information contained within - for example, check out the "you may kill off the following robots" list on page 8 of the scanned document. There's also a long list of possible alternate names for "the entity" who eventually became Unicron (which here is just the name of the planet mode) - including Ingestor, underlined as the favored choice apparently, but also The Amalgamator, Masticar and Unitron.

Also, within these pages, the identity of the "Anibot" team is confirmed! Lion, tiger, eagle, buffalo and rhinoceros alternate modes for the members, does it sound familiar? That's right, the evil Predacons were originally going to be the heroic Anibots, an Autobot counterpoint to Devastator.

Read on and check out the full scans of this interesting piece of Transformers history!

It is the year 2011. One year has passed since Convoy was revived, and Galvatron returns to plague the Cybertrons with his new allies, the Destron Headmasters.

Okay, so the start of 2011 isn't as cool as the 2011 shown in the Japanese Transformers the Headmasters. I should probably have been tipped off by the lack of silver jumpsuits and no flaming winnebago in my driveway. But the real life 2011 has kicked off with plenty of promise, a new live action movie on the horizon and plenty of cool Generations and Reveal the Shield toys to come as well.

But before we leave 2010 behind completely, let's take one last look back at the news of the final week of 2010, and also check out the TFW Staff's top Transformers Toy Picks of 2010!

All good things must come to an end...

Such is the theme of the Alternity toyline's final entry, Alternity Thundercracker. When he was released back in October last year, many people were overwhelmed by the sheer size of the story chapter included with him which was as long as all the other Alternity story chapters put together. As hinted at in the Starscream story chapter, this final chapter, Alternation, is the twilight of the Alternity, both as a toyline and also as a story.

You can check out a translated version of this epic, super-dimensional, "impossible to portray with words" final story, translated by TFW2005's one and only SydneyY, by visiting Alternity Thundercracker's page in our resources section. Also included is a full translation of Thundercracker's bio, which you'll see at the top of the page before you proceed downward to read the full story translation.

MagicValley has posted an article stating that voice actor Bill Fagerbakke is to voice a stock Chevy Impala in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

“Fagerbakke is voicing an animated Chevy Impala stock car equipped with machine guns in the third Transformers movie, “Dark of the Moon,” which will be released July 1.”

Mr. Fagerbakke is most famous for voicing Patrick Star of the worldwide hit Nickelodeon cartoon series; Spongebob Squarepants. Transformers: Animated fans will also recognize him as the voice of Bulkhead from the said cartoon series.

Regarding the news, there were two Chevrolet Impala’s on the set during Transformers 3 filming; a NASCAR Wrecker and an Orange-Black stock car.

TFW2005 board member Deceptigtar, gives us a side by side look at both versions of the War For Cybertron Megatron mold from Hasbro and Takara-Tomy. From his review:

The dark kind of gritty gray is much closer to the game version with a rough look to him. Maybe a little on the dark side but much better than the Hasbro almost clean white.

My only problems, which is on the hasbro version as well, is there is purple light piping but paint over red, why red was not just used I dont know.

Also the red on the gun is too solid where the hasbro version has the black lines breaking up.

Also the CON symbol, too much purple and it blends together too much.
