An auction on Taobao has revealed a clear look at the robot mode to the Transformers Dark of the Moon Legends Class Bumblebee. This new Bumblebee features a few refinements to the design compared to his Revenge of the Fallen design beyond the alterations to resemble the new body kit on the Camaro in the new movie. Bumblebee's feet have been modified to flip up on transformation, and additionally, the arm transformation now functions differently, placing the wheels up beyond the shoulder joint instead of level with the hands. And if you look closely, you can also see this version of the mold has opted to sculpt in an arm cannon on Bumblebee's right arm. Plus an updated headsculpt and thanks to the new design arms, he gets slimmer legs!
They are only small changes to a pocket-money figure, but will they make the big difference between buying the little guy or passing on him when you see him on the pegs? Sound off in our discussion thread by clicking on the link below! |

Yahoo Auctions, Japan has posted what is claiming to be a Deluxe Class Dread from Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
This Chevrolet SUV Suburban comes with a Mechtech gun and the vehicle mode sports pincers. Known on various occasions as Dreads, Dreadbots or Dreadbox, these SUVs were seen mostly hanging around you-know-who or chasing the Autobots during the filming of Transformers 3. Recently, we saw the robot mode thanks to a Legends Class Toy. |

With the recent Dreadbot News Piece, came another new discovery. Behind two of the Dreads, is another figure; a car with a Mechtech gun. Further photos and a comparison indicated that this is very well be a Deluxe Class Transformers: Dark of the Moon Green Impala (No. #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Slot Car) Wrecker.
Note the similarities between frontend of the car, the side guns and the backend. You are free to compare using some of the set photos circulating around. Just for the giggles, TFW2005 members are noticing a Cap and a Pair Of Sunglasses… looks like someone’s going to see the NASCAR Races. Prototype Images thanks to DOTMToys Website. |

A user on fellow toy board Actoys has shared images of a Insecticon figure rendered in the Hearts of Steel style. This is not the version that will be released by Mastermind Collectibles but a completely unrelated custom piece made using a 3D printer for a college project. Shrapnel seems like a faithful rendition including a Insectrain alternate mode (front section), which seems to indicate Bombshell & Kickback will be next. Click above to view all images.
Update: Complete prototype image gallery up thanks to Actoys. |

A small update for those of you looking forward to the upcoming Transformers Vault book. There has been a change in title for the book, or rather, a subtitle has been added. The title now reads Transformers Vault: Showcasing Rare Collectibles and Memorabilia.
The title clarification seems to reflect that rather than trying to cover the vast breadth of all things Transformers, the book will instead focus on the toy and collecting side of our hobby, with a skew toward the rarer items. Will it rival the excellent J. E. Alvarez Transformers books on the same subject for variety of content and depth of information? The Transformers Vault: Showcasing Rare Collectibles and Memorabilia will go on sale in June 2011 for $35, and advertises that it will feature never-before-seen images from the Hasbro archives and interviews with the creators of our favorite Robots in Disguise. |

We are sad to report tonight that Aron Kincaid, the voice of Generation 1 Autobot Sky Lynx, has passed away aged 70 of heart related complications. Kincaid had a successful career in acting as well as modeling and as an artist. In addition to providing the voice of Sky Lynx you might remember him for his work on Smurfs or Batman The Animated Series where he voiced Killer Croc.
You can read a full obituary at the LA Times. On behalf of all the staff of TFW2005, I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to the friends and family of Mr Kincaid. |

Happy news for the Japanese Transformers Movie Fans. Official Transformers 3 Website has launched for Japan. Strangely enough, the “Dark of the Moon” subtitle is missing on the trailer. Japanese title just says “Transformers-3”, yet still retains the subtitle on the website.

Thanks to an auction at Yahoo Auctions, Japan, we now have our proper look at Transformers: Dark of the Moon Green Impala Wrecker (#88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Slot Car).
Earlier leaked Prototype images clearly shows the car armed with weaponry. But in this image it seems to be in a “normal” state. In fact… a robot in disguise (Don't mind the Mechtech gun on top). We do not know how this will playout in terms of the movie’s plot but it’s very cool to see the toy instead of a prototype stage. |
