This is a story not many knew. Few weeks back at Michal Bay Forums, user EastwoodClinton posted a news piece from Cambodia (copied below this article). The news said that Transformers: Dark of the Moon is to be filmed in Cambodia. Cambodian Minister of Information told the press that DOTM filming will continue at the Angkor Wat temple complex. No info came after that.
Today, TFW2005 member RebelMan posted some images he found, which are rumored to be from a Transformers 3 filming which happened recently. Nothing is confirmed at the moment other than the Cambodian news piece. Update: We just received a tip linking to a YouTube video of a film crew at the Angkor Wat temple complex. A comment by the uploader says the DOTM filming went through the whole day. Thanks to 168Nara of YouTube! |

2005 boards members Masabon and XxGeck0xX have posted all new images of Activator Ramjet from the Japanese Transformers Animated line! More info:
Animated Activator Ramjet is a "second chance" item in a lottery draw held through Family Mart in Japan in late 2010. By mailing in two coupons from prizes E, F or G and 2,500 yen, it is possible to receive this toy. The price included cash on delivery fee. More images of the newest Animated Seeker can be seen after the jump! |

We have with us the Official Product Description of Transformers: Dark of the Moon Novelization by Peter David.
It’s a teeny-tiny bit spoilerish… So, you’ll have to read it after the jump. With over 400 pages, the novel is set to release on 24th May, 2011. We are still waiting for the Cover Page. |

Here's a bit of an odd-ball one for you to ponder. An image has come to us by way of ACToys, showing what appears to be a previously unseen Optimus Prime toy. At first glance, the simplifications in the design suggest it is a knockoff. But consider; we have seen listings of various upcoming toys that suggest there is not one but two upcoming Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime toys which we currently know nothing about. Could this perhaps be the as yet unseen "Jetwing" Optimus Prime who allegedly is a Leader Class toy with a Jetfire styled flight pack? Or even something else entirely?
As always, we're committed to bringing you more news on this item as it becomes available to us. For now, join in the speculation on our 2005 Boards by clicking the discuss link! |

Just a brief update for you on Shout! Factory's Beast Wars Season 1 DVD set, coming to you via TVShowsonDVD. The set's listing on Amazon.com has been updated with the proposed cover artwork of the set! It's a fairly nice group shot of all the core Maximals, minus our favourite wisecracking rodent Transformer. Given the excellent "evolving" style of the Shout! Generation 1 DVD set covers, could volume 2 keep up this trend with the characters (except Rhinox, granted) in their Transmetal and Transmetal 2 forms?

Perfect Effect have updated their blog with some color images of their upcoming custom Reflector. Like their other custom pieces, this is going to be a very small yet detailed set, containing all three Reflector robots as they appeared in the cartoon, with an assortment of extra accessories and other parts both to form the camera mode, and also to give the robots some serious firepower. Check out the new images by clicking on the above link.

The man behind a good, healthy portion of the Transformers Animated box artworks, as well as this year's BotCon comic artist, Marcelo Matere, dropped by to share a warm-up sketch of Transformers Animated Motormaster, and included a YouTube video of his warm-up from start to finish.
Check out the video below, and jam to the Japanese Transformers Animated theme song in the background. Thanks Marcelo! The finished sketch is included in this news post. |

The ever helpful D-Drive has sent us over the Diamond Comics shipping list for next week! There's only one Transformers comic on the agenda, Transformers Heart of Darkness issue 1. Brought to you by the same team that wrote Transformers Infestation, this continues the saga of the remaining Dead Universe Transformers under the leadership of Galvatron! Check it out at comic stores everywhere on 23 March.
GALVATRON. Last seen, he was leading a team of Decepticons through space. Clearly, he has a purpose, an agenda, and a vendetta. But how it will play out and to what end has been shrouded in mystery. That mystery is about to be revealed... |

Kinda sad he is the last for a while but damn is he an awesome one! His tank mode blatantly looks like the HALO Scarab which is no bad thing, he has the usual tiny wheels built into the solid treads and rolls freely, the turret also pivots nice and smooth with the 2 flip out cannons nicely settled to the rear. Board member Red Leader shares with us a pictorial review on the upcoming Dark of the Moon Voyager Shockwave:
Win Win Win! this guy is awesome in person, super chunky design that looks like a cross between a Rocklord, G1 Shockwave and D'Compose from the Inhumanoids. Once again he has a nice smooth simplified transformation ( compared to ROTF figures ) his articulation is great wiht thigh swivel, knee, elbow, shoulder and bicep swivel along with neck rotation, downsides are due to his transformation no waist movement and the wrists do not move just like Battle Blade Bumblebee. Here we go Transformers Movie (Michael Bay Live Action one that is) Fans! IDW is sharing with us the June 2011 Transformers Solicitations. And yes, as predicted, we are going to see back-to-back Transformers: Dark of the Moon Adaptation releases.
Not much about the movie is revealed from the description and IDW is not sharing the cover pages either. But they’ll turn-up pretty soon. Going away from the movie buzz… we’ll be getting another Transformers: Prime volume as well as the final issue of Transformers: Heart Of Darkness. Continue reading to take a look at the official descriptions and the cover pages of IDW June 2011 Transformers Comic Books. |

Site sponsor Hobbylink Japan will be donating a portion of their sales for the next 2 weeks, to the Japanese Red Cross. Here's more info:
To all our customers: I'm sure I don't need to tell our customers about the horrific scope of the devastation, both human and property, that Japan suffered during the March 11 earthquake and tsunami disaster. And as we've explained on our pages, we at HobbyLink Japan were fortunate enough to have barely been scratched by the catastrophe. At times like this, those who can help must assist those who need help. And that includes HobbyLink Japan. So for the next two weeks (through March 31), we are going to donate a portion of our sales to the Japanese Red Cross. In order to pitch in and help out, all you need to do is buy something from us. Here's how it works: * We're raising our prices on every item in our catalog by 2%. That's right, raising prices*. * This 2% difference will then be donated to the Japanese Red Cross. That's how our customers will help. * We will then match these funds and donate the same amount as well. That's how HLJ will help. So, in effect, HLJ will donate 4% of its total sales for the next two weeks. And we're asking our customers to contribute 50% of that amount. We haven't given our customers any choice about contributing in the way we've structured this fund-raising drive. If you buy from us, you're going to be paying 2% extra over the next two weeks (you'll only pay the prices shown when you place your order; nothing will be added later). We fully understand that may actually drive some customers away. But we also believe that the vast majority of our customers want to help as badly as we do, and we think this is a great, simple way for them to pitch in. Of course, we also encourage everyone to make direct, personal donations to the relief agencies here, too. But make sure to avoid scams! A couple of sites to consider are: * Japanese Red Cross * PayPal donations Thank you so much for your support and understanding in this time of crisis. And as always, thank you for all of your business with HLJ! Scott T. Hards, President |

Many remember various third party companies that were in the building stages for a "City Commander" type armor for use on MP-02 Magnus. It seems one did pull through (Dreamtoys), and TFW member payton34 shares with us a pictorial review:
I remember these things being in the planning stages a few years ago, but thought production was halted. Apparently, they were still released but not for a mass market. I was able to snag one (courtesy of Zfeakye) and here are a few pics of it. The box is nice looking and would make a great display piece for all of you MISB collectors. From the Fansproject website:
“Japan Earthquake and Tsunami 2011″ Our hearts go out to the people of Japan and the other survivors of the earthquake and tsunami. Right now, there are still many unknowns and the best way to help would be a donation to Red Cross. The Red Cross has extraordinary disaster response capabilities. They have been operating since 1887, and they run multiple hospitals and blood collection services across the country. In light of the situation, we will be setting up a donation program for people to donate to Red Cross around the world in support of the Japan disaster relief efforts. Fansproject is making 1500pcs of “Blesser” (inverted color “TFX-05 Sidearm”) for people who donating a minimum of $15.00USD to Red Cross “Japan Earthquake and Tsunami 2011”. |
