Participating at a press conference, Michael Bay and James Cameron discussed the challenges and benefits of 3-D moviemaking at Paramount Studios on Wednesday.
Mr. Bay then showed 15 minutes of assorted footage to the audience. It is said that the opening sequence of Transformers: Dark of the Moon was revealed at the event. And what did that contained? It’s a story to be told in few minutes. "I came up with that building sequence while I was doing stomach crunches," Bay said after the footage played. "That's the weirdest place I've ever come up with an action scene." "I just watched the movie and couldn't tell the difference between digital and film," Cameron said. "This movie is a testament to the fact that it's indistinguishable to the eye." You can read more at Yahoo! and Collider. Beware, Spoilers!!! Update: A video from the Discussion Session is now available online. You can take a look at the YouTube and Vimeo version of the same video after the jump. Full video coming next week. Big news for Auto Assembly - and also for Nordcon! Nordcon, which as you may recall was organized by the NTFA, have partnered with the crew from Auto Assembly to bring you a new European Transformers convention! Auto Assembly Europe will be organized by the combined teams of Auto Assembly and Nordcon, and will be held in Sweden this fall. This partnership will give Europe a Transformers convention of its own, the Transformers convention that Europe deserves.
A bright new star is rising for Transformers fans in Europe, for those who cannot travel to the US for Botcon or to the UK for Auto Assembly, now you too have a convention within reach. This partnership promises great and unmissable conventions for the UK and for Europe. Check out the official announcement video for this partnership - with an awesome retrospective of past Auto Assemblys - below: |

2005 Boards member Snake_eyes1975 has shared with us a rather interesting scan from Dark of the Moon Laserbeak's instructions - check it out to the left. That's a new head sculpt! Hasbro evidently are continuing their trend of hinting at potential future remolds by featuring the new heads in their instruction manuals. Laserbeak's instructions feature one such new head - and it's a pretty mean looking bird all things considered. Could this be the emergence of Movie universe Buzzsaw?

Three is the lucky number today! Good things come in threes, and we've got three sets of new official wave three toy images for you! First up, we have official images of Dark of the Moon Voyager Wave 3 Fireburst Optimus Prime, and he's looking fine with his darker deco contrasting against the vibrant firey reds and oranges. He was accompanied by official images of Shockwave, who is actually a part of wave 2, but is being repacked as a part of wave 3 as well.
Next up, we have official images of the recently released Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wave 3. Nitro Bumblebee, Mudflap, Thundercracker and Laserbeak make up this assortment, and these images make all of them look pretty cool - especially Laserbeak with that huge wingspan. Last but by no means least, Human Alliance Basic Wave 3 is covered by these official pictures! Wave 3 brings us a redeco of Sandstorm from Wave 1 in gray and black, possibly an urban camo or lunar buggy deco. He is joined by an all-new mold - and that's the guy you can see to the left. Yes, Decepticon Drag Strip is back and joining the ranks of the Human Alliance series. He's looking very sharp in his traditional color scheme, and has a couple of throwbacks to his Power Core Combiners cousin Overrun - although we're pretty sure this is Drag Strip thanks to some Walmart listings that ATT's Zobovor uncovered some time ago. Official photography of the assortment is rounded out with some new images of the Wave 2 Human Alliance Basics Whirl and Tailpipe, who are looking awesome. These images come to you via 4Chan. Read on to check them all out. |

Here we are bringing you the IDW August 2011 Transformers Solicitations.
Nothing related to the Movie Franchise. Maybe it’s too early to tell or maybe as Michael Bay stated… It all ends with Transformers: Dark of the Moon. This is the month where Transformers: Chaos is set to start. You can read our exclusive interview with Mike Costa and Livio Ramondelli regarding the series, right here. Without further introduction, here are the books…
Findout more about each solicitation, after the jump. |

Back in March, we found confirmation of a Walmart exclusive bundle for Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon, featuring Optimus Prime(repaint of Battle Blades Optimus Prime with the unmasked head sculpt and hook swords used on the TakaraTomy Autobot Alliance release) with Comettor(repaint of Landmine). This set was released earlier this month and has been making its way across the country.
The question is, is this Optimus Prime with Comettor set worth it? To answer that question, I have posted a photo intensive pictorial review. Read on to check out how this set turned out! |

We've got a pair of sizzling new Transformers toy galleries to share with you tonight folks - two toys of different Generations and eras, with the common theme that both are getting new toys later this year as Transformers Collectors Club Exclusives. Yes, we have for today galleries of a plucky yellow Maximal named Cheetor, and a mean purple jet named Ramjet. These photos are brought to you by 2005 Boards member HighPrime.
First up, we have Botcon 2006 Cheetor. With Botcon 2011 just two weeks away, and Transtech Cheetor playing a role in the convention exclusive comic, now we felt was a great time to highlight the other toy where Cheetor was a car. In my opinion the Botcon 2006 set was one of the coolest and most imaginative sets that Fun Publications have come up with - check out this gallery of Cheetor and you'll see why for yourself! Next up is a gallery of the original Generation 2 Ramjet. This Decepticon warrior always looked pretty sharp in white, and looks just as cool here in this purple deco. He's getting an update using the Classics mold as the other Transformers Collectors Club exclusive this year - check out this gallery to see the awesomeness of the original toy. TFW Botcon 2006 Transtech Cheetor Gallery TFW Generation 2 Ramjet Gallery I hope you'll keep it TFW for future gallery updates, including a follow-on to this post once the new Transformers Collectors Club exclusives are released. Be sure to check out some of our other Transformers Toy Galleries for even more awesome photos of convention exclusive and Generation 2 era toys: Transformers Convention Exclusives Galleries Generation 2 Transformers Galleries Generation 2 Redux - Botcon 2010 Exclusive Toys Gallery |

An interesting little image has popped up on 4Chan. What you can see here to the left is a view of the back of a possible upcoming Kaiyado Revoltech Optimus Prime. For those unfamiliar, Revoltech as a series takes many classic robot - and other - characters, and uses a unique revolver joint system that allows for unparalleled poseability in their scale and price point. We've had some Dreamwave inspired Revoltechs in the past - this though would be the first foray into a different series for Revoltech. No other details known other than what you see here - but chances are, Optimus will be a part of the Sci-Fi Revoltech sub-series.
Stay tuned for more news and information. |

Ever wanted to see Godzilla duke it out with our favorite robots from Cybertron? Of course you have. Take a look to your left for an awesome piece of artwork which shows just that.
Now that we've got your attention, how would you like to meet the artist of this piece, and other IDW comic books like: Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters Issue 1 "Stomp" cover promotion - lead artist Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters RE cover artist Beast Wars Sourcebook artist Transformers: Animated - Rise of Safeguard - interior artist Good news! You can! Matt Frank, the artist of all the above, is attending Botcon 2011 this year. You can find him in the Botcon 2011 artist's alley next to the one and only Josh Perez! Be sure to go over and say hi to him and all the other talented artists who are attending, and maybe buy a print of this awesome piece of work. |

Here's something that almost got lost in the shuffle. The official Japanese movie site (coming to us by way of Snakas) has updated with a photoshopped fully colored image of the Lawson's Exclusive Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime Darkside Version (what a mouthful). These images indicate that the Darkside Version will be mainly black, with silver swords trimmed in red, red windows and gold highlights and flames in the vehicle mode. He looks pretty nifty in these early pictures, so I'm sure once we finally see the real thing he'll look every bit as awesome.
This exclusive Optimus Prime is only available with a purchase of a ticket for Darkside Moon - the Japanese dub of Dark of the Moon - from Lawson's Stores in Japan. Check out the Optimus Prime Darkside Version resources entry for more information on this toy. |

Here's one for all you Cyberverse fans - the Dark of the Moon Autobot Ark Cyberverse playset has been released in Australia, and Swoop of the Ozformers has bought and reviewed the set. One thing is certain - this is a big playset! Check out the size comparison with Deluxe Class toys - it's huge! The base mode is cool and packed with features for the Cyberverse toys, but bad news about the connection ports - it cannot be linked up to the smaller Cyberverse Plus Action Sets.
Check out the full review and more images over at Ozformers - Transformers Collectors Australia. |

Another new Dark of the Moon toy has been released - this time out it is the Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Evolutions four pack. This set is a Toys R Us exclusive, and is a part of their broader "Mission Earth" exclusive campaign. It features two versions of Bumblebee and two versions of Starscream - one of each in their "pre-movie" form, represented by recolors of Universe Legends Bumblebee and Legends of Cybertron Starscream, and one of each in their Movie forms. The Movie versions are partially transparent, like the Toys R Us exclusive Scan Series - perhaps this is a trend? 2005 Boards member Silvershot purchased these at the Covina, LA Toys R Us.

Our second item for Transformers Dark of the Moon The Game today is the list of achievements (which will probably be the same for the PS3 trophies). The achievements reveal some new information about the game as a whole, some of which could be considered spoilers. Of note:
- The single player campaign consists of seven chapters. - First three chapters are Autobot based, four five and six give you Decepticons to play as, the last chapter puts you back in control of the Autobots. - The identity of the last bosses seems to have been revealed! - A couple of other characters have also been confirmed for the game, including Air Raid. Read the full list of achievements over at trueachievements.com. |

Cybergundam Blog has updated with a new Japanese magazine scan showing finalized versions of the Tokyo Toy Show United Optimus Prime and Megatron Black Versions. Both Optimus and Megatron look very sharp in these black decos, Megatron in particular seems to be taking a few cues from Animated Shadow Blade Megatron.
Also on this page is another look at the Japan only Dark of the Moon toy, DA-15 Jetwings Optimus Prime. He's looking pretty awesome - and huge! Check out the scan which shows all three of these and discuss on our 2005 Boards. |

Digital Spy has interviewed the game director of the upcoming Transformers Dark of the Moon video game. Rather than a straight adaptation, the game is a prequel, and each level gives you a different Transformer to play as. This interview gives some insight into the lessons learned from War for Cybertron, and also into why this particular "one character - one level" structure was chosen.

Official Facebook Page of Canadian Rock Band, Art of Dying is announcing that their song “Get Thru This” will be featured in the upcoming Michael Bay movie; Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Also, the band says that there will be songs from “Linkin Park [Iridescent], Staind, My Chemical Romance, Skillet, Theory of a Deadman" featured in the Official Album of Transformers 3. If this rumor is true, can you guess what songs from the above mentioned bands will be featured in the movie? |
