There is a lot of buzz about the New York Comic Convention coming up, especially in regards to Hasbro's involvement, both as being a newcomer to the convention as well as being a sponsor of the convention itself. Much speculation continues as to just exactly what Hasbro will unveil as well.
Tonight, we get our first glimpse into to some offerings from Hasbro with some exclusives offered at the convention. The first thing shown are two cups from the game Cuponk Hasbro introduced last year. The cups offered at the convention feature the classic Generation One characters none other than Optimus Prime and Megatron. You can view both of them by checking out the attached image after the jump. While San Diego Comic Con offered an Optimus Prime-themed NERF blaster, Hasbro follows suit with another such blaster (labeled as the "NERF N-Strike Barricade RV-10 Blaster"), this time featuring the fan-favorite Bumblebee! Also, much like SDCC, if you find yourself wanting these exclusives but can't make it to the convention, Hasbro will be offering a limited quantity of the exclusives at HasbroToyShop.com the week of October 17. |

Info from the United States Patent and Trademark Office tells us that Hasbro has recently renewed the trademark titles Tankor and Buzzsaw. From what Shadow told us few days ago, we are to see a Buzzsaw figure based on Transformers: Dark of the Moon Deluxe Laserbeak. Now, the question of the hour is… Are we to see a Tankor figure soon as well? Perhaps based on the recent Generations Warpath?
You can take a look at the Trademark Documents by visiting the links below:Only time can tell… We are here, We are waiting! *The news post image is not from the rumored product. Learn more about Beast Machines Mega Wave 1 Tankor from our Resources Section. |

E-Hobby have updated their page for Masterpiece Black Rodimus Convoy with a couple of preview pages for the comic. The comic depicts a showdown between the two Rodimuses (Rodimi?), and features some deliciously evil looking artwork for the Destron Black Rodimus. Just check out the closeup on his face in the second image.

Another new Transformers item is gracing store shelves. This time it's a bonus value set featuring the Dark of the Moon Cyberverse Autobot Ark with a pack in Cyberverse Commander Sentinel Prime - The Autobot ship with the Autobot who was found within it! The set was spotted at Target, where it is slated to be an exclusive. It's priced at $29.99, a mere $5 more than the standard release so a nett saving of $5 on buying the Ark and Sentinel individually. Well worth it!

A recent exclusive item for Tomica shareholders was this cool Transformers Dark of the Moon themed Tomica truck. Rather than being based on an existing character, it's a truck advertising Transformers Dark of the Moon, with the logo on the air vane and on the sides, with a picture of Optimus Prime himself. It's rather cool in a 1970's Corgi Marvel Comics Truck kind of way.
Read on and check out the image, coming to you via this recent Yahoo Japan Auction. |

Today, October 4, marks another major release in the Transformers media calendar - because today is the day that Shout! Factory's Beast Wars Season 2 and 3 boxed set is released. Own the episodes that defined the show for a generation of Transformers fans, episodes such as Code of Hero, The Agenda, and the grand finale Nemesis, with the final episode penned by legendary Transformers writer Simon Furman. If you have never seen Beast Wars, what are you waiting for? This show was awesome back in the 90s and has stood the test of time as one of the very best Transformers shows ever made.
I leave you now with a defining quote from Hall of Fame 2010 fan's choice winner, Dinobot: Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence. |

Transformers Exiles, the second book by author Alex Irvine chronicling the early days of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, is out today! This book is the sequel to Transformers Exodus, which laid the groundwork for the new aligned continuity origin of Transformers Prime. Transformers Exiles carries on the saga, and promises to delve deeper into the mysteries of the original 13 Transformers, including Nexus, Solus and Vector Prime.
The epic battles between Optimus Prime and Megatron have long thrilled Transformers fans. But these two giants weren’t always great leaders and bitter foes. This new novel continues the electrifying saga that started with Transformers: Exodus, unveiling the origins of the conflict—the explosive events that unfolded before Optimus and Megatron arrived Earthside, forever altering the destiny of their kind. Once allies, Optimus and Megatron are now enemies in a civil war. To prevent Cybertron from falling into Megatron’s hands, Optimus jettisons the planet’s heart, the AllSpark, into space, then sets out to find it with Megatron hot on his heels. Optimus is determined to defeat Megatron, bring the AllSpark home, and restore Cybertron to its former glory. But a saboteur lurks aboard Optimus’s spaceship, and ahead lie lost colonies, some of them hostile. Optimus needs help of the highest caliber, but from whom? Heroes such as Solus, Nexus, and Vector Prime are just names from make-believe stories of long ago. Or are they? Maybe it’s time for Optimus Prime to find out. Maybe it’s the only chance he has to vanquish mighty Megatron. |

Universal Studios Singapore have released another new image of the pre-show area from their version of Transformers the Ride. This is the area where you queue up before going on the ride. Judging by the monitors on the wall, there might be some kind of pre-ride show (such as Optimus Prime or Major Lennox briefing guests about what they are about to experience?). The Transformers the Ride blog refers to this as the NEST Orientation Room.

Now hitting mailboxes is the much anticipated Fansproject Backfiery. This 3rd party figure will complete a set of Insecticon inspired figures from the very popular group. 2005 Board member Quixote Prime has shared with us a pictorial review of the figure showing off this very cool looking figure out of the box and in comparison with other figures. Something exciting to note is that the wings on the back of the figure can be positioned in an up position to more closely resemble the popular G1 character.
Take a look at the pics after the jump and join the discussion after the break. |

Hasbro's partnership with the Discovery Channel known only as The Hub takes flight! But wait! You've been watching the great programming created by Hasbro for quite a while with such favorite shows as Transformers: Prime, right! Well, now you will be able to see many of your favorite programs in a really cool promotion by the Hub where select airlines will air Transformers: Prime and several other shows in-flight!
The news also carefully notes the continued international expansion by Hasbro and its many brands' entertainment value with this promotion of the Hub. Also, this new promotion details the recent push to be more and more active in the creative development of Hasbro Studios, both alongside its partner (the Discovery Channel) with the Hub, but also internationally on its own. As Hasbro's brands continue to grow more and more, we here at TFW2005.com are excited about yet another step in Hasbro's entertainment ventures! Be sure to check out the news article after the jump! Also, don't forget to share your thoughts about the new Transformers: Prime show in our subforum dedicated to the show! |

ACToys have shared an in package image of Transformers Dark of the Moon Soundwave. The toy of Soundwave as an evil Mercedes comes with Laserbeak and Dylan Gould, here called "Mr Gould". Check out the utterly terrifying look on Soundwave's face on the packaging art!
Human Alliance Soundwave is a part of the third assortment of Human Alliance toys for the Movie. At SDCC we were told that Human Alliance Soundwave was on the cards for December 2011 - hopefully this packaged image suggests we'll be seeing Soundwave rolling into stores a bit sooner. |

Thanks to (as usual) Box Office Mojo, we now know that Dark of the Moon has passed up yet another milestone, beating out the final Lord of the Rings movie and has become the Fourth Highest-Grossing Movie of All-Time* with a total of $1,119,112,943.
As the run of the movie begins to reach it's end worldwide as the home release spreads through the various regions and territories, this is probably the highest the movie's theatrical totals will hit. Regardless of how one may feel about the movies, one cannot deny that the trilogy not only made cinema history, but also significantly helped Hasbro and the Transformers brand as well as the fandom itself. *Non-Adjusted for Inflation |
