Some information reached us a few days ago from several Japanese Rakutan stores (via 2005 boards member Masabon) of a potential new Transformers Movie series Bumblebee. Yes, we know, how much love can that yellow Autobot handle, but please bear with us.
Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have also received the solicitation, however they have also released an image of the mystery recolor. This Neoscanning Bumblebee appears to be the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Bumblebee with a new deco - more silver for the body parts, a lighter yellow for the car parts, and different stripes, narrower and closer to the middle of the hood, and not carrying on across the roof like on the regular release. Masabon reports that this toy will be available after the release of Dark of the Moon on Blu Ray and DVD in Japan on 16 December. It remains to be seen if there are any other changes to be made, and exactly how limited or exclusive this version of Bumblebee will be. |

We’ve told you at the Hasbro's Investor Day 2011, they showed everyone who was there, a trailer for their upcoming HUB Transformers Cartoon for little kids; Transformers: Rescue Bots. TFW2005 was the first to let everyone in on the new Hasbro initiative back in last March by revealing exclusive concept art thanks to Matrix Soul of the 2005 Boards.
Media people listening in at the 2011 event online, were only able to hear the trailer, even that was barely audible. Despite everything, we were able to transcript what we heard and here we are revealing the details for the first time. We expect the trailer to hit the internet in the coming weeks, for the show is due to start in December. (the episodes are handed over to the Hub next week). Running with the idea of “Big Boy Brands In Little Boy Hands”, Transformers: Rescue Bots will educate little kids regarding Hazards & Safety. After all, “Knowing Is Half The Battle”. As for the transcript, read on after the jump my friends! |

The Transformers the Ride blog have released a video talking about the process of creating the all-new Autobot character who will act as a guide (and also, the vehicle) for guests enjoying the new ride. His name is Evac, and yes, he's getting a couple of toys (a Deluxe and a Cyberverse, both mainstream release and also at the parks, possibly with different decos to make the park versions that bit more special). Check out the video below:

Eagle has updated his blog with his latest project images of his custom garage kit Transformer Scourge. Like the Kup we reported on previously this is potentially going to be a hand-made resin kit - a true garage kit third party item in the style of the Jizai Toys releases. Check out the latest images at his blog.

A fun sub-series of Transformers merchandising from Japan are the Transformers Kabaya kits. These "candy toys" are sold in Japanese grocery stores and come with a piece of candy - gum usually - and a model kit. The main appeal's the model kit of course. Transformers have had such model kits since the 1980s and these have recently undergone a bit of a revival, with both new takes on existing characters and also an all-new character in the form of Gaia Cross. Transformers Generations 2011 volume 1 featured an interview with Mr. Koutaro Hayashi and Mr. Masakazu Kunimitsu, who are working on the current series of Transformers gum. It's a short but very insightful interview, translated into English for your enjoyment by 2005 Boards staff member SydneyY! Read on and check it out!

The TFC Toys Dino-Combiner robot is an unusual one. Sometimes we see pics and it looks a lot like a combiner set of Dinobots, other times we see new pics that push it back the other way. These latest images posted on ACToys push it squarely back into the "not actually the Dinobots" camp. The deco of the five as indicated is gray and black, with some colored highlights such as red. In the pics you can also see the partner release of this piece, the TFC Toys Star Cats Star Rescue, a completely non Transformers related piece.

We're back with another new Transformers toy gallery! This time we're taking a look at a Dark of the Moon toy that's exclusive to Japan - Dark of the Moon Vortex! Vortex was a remolded version of the excellent Hunt for the Decepticons Tomahawk with a new weapon - a remolded version of Roadbuster's chainsaw weapon. He's also got a new head which combines the original Generation 1 style with a healthy amount of modern reinterpretation. Overall? Vortex is a great little toy who fits in well with Classics or the Movie universe. Check out our gallery by clicking on the link below - all photos are by the talented SydneyY of our 2005 Boards!

Some new images have been posted over on Screamscape of the new Transformers the Ride, opening at Universal Studios Singapore next month. These new images show off the attraction's giftshop - complete with an awesome display of Transformers toys - and some ones posted over the last couple of weeks also show off the cafe that accompanies the ride. It's all looking very appropriately NEST and Autobot! Will the version opening in California next year look as sharp as this? We can only hope!

According to Hasbro, they have big plans for Transformers: Prime. An entire season went by without seeing a single toy but we are now slowly seeing Transformers: Prime toy releases. The first wave is hitting shelves and by the time January we will see them all over the world. Majority of the fans are looking forward to the Deluxe and Voyager releases and we also have Cyberverse figures heading our way in the future.
But, a little known fact is the Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime Blaster. This blaster is the first Role Playing toy from the series and it’s actually two blasters in one toy. The toy is also associated with the Tagline of the Transformers: Prime Toyline. “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings... and toys are the right of all Earthlings!” Description: Freedom is the right of all sentient beings... and toys are the right of all Earthlings! Direct from Hasbro comes this exciting toy gun from Transformers Prime. Join Optimus Prime and his friends as they defend Earth from Decepticons and otherworldy menaces. Unfortunately, we don’t have an image of the blaster to share with you. But I’m sure Hasbro will provide us with the official image soon. Also in mid 2012, Reader’s Digest is set to release a Puzzle Book for little kids. We have with us a sneak peek of the book’s cover and it does feature never-before-seen Transformers: Prime character poses (wonder if these images are from the second season?). The puzzle book is 96 pages and will cost you $8.99 (the price may vary). It is set to release on 5th June, 2012. Description: Inspired by the Transformers Prime animated series, Transformers Super Search is jam-packed with all kinds of visual puzzles that are guaranteed to provide hours of entertainment. Puzzles include Transformers-themed mazes, picture puzzles like see & find and matching games, spot the difference activities, memory games, and much more. Visually striking Transformers art makes this book stand out from the puzzle pack! After the Michael Bay Movie Trilogy Era, Hasbro is moving forward with the Transformers: Prime line. Hopefully, we will see some more awesome episodes from the upcoming season two and a strong toyline to please the fans. Don’t forget to take a look at our Resources Section for more upcoming toys and games from Transformers: Prime. |

Some new images of the Junkion Blacksmith "Power of Destruction" Devastator unofficial upgrade kit add-ons have been posted over at ACToys. This set includes new arms, head, chest, hips and gun for the mighty Devastator, giving him a full range of motion in the hips and hands. The images demonstrate the movement in the legs, as well as the gun's inter-compatibility with other toys - in this case, TFC Toys Heavy Labor.

An image of iGear's PP04 Cliffjumper has surfaced over on ACToys. The new image gives a little indication of what this design will be, although it is a bit of a departure from your traditional Cliffjumper look. He's got a vehicle mode based on a Porsche 924s and there will be a Bumblebee reshell according to previous information on PP04.

Congratulations to Transformers: Rescue Bots! Hasbro announced that Transformers: Rescue Bots won an award from Disney’s Family Fun Toy Of The Year 2011.
“It takes just one easy step, such as pushing a ladder or twisting an arm, to turn these robots in disguise into sleek vehicles or a flying machine. They're so cool, even big brothers toting Decepticons may ask to play.” There are 29 other winners including BoGo, 3D Twister and Erector Space Chaos. |

Designer Alexander Kubalsky has shared a rare look at some actual Transformers design works on his Deviant Art account. These images show how the concept of a Transformers toy is developed, both as sketches and then in comparison to the gray prototypes. Some of the pieces Alexander worked on includes:
Universe 2.0 Hound Animated Bumblebee signature transformation Animated Rodimus Hunt for the Decepticons Sea Spray (the sketch refers to it as a Movie 2 design, though Alexander himself calls it Classic, to further muddy the waters on which shelf this toy goes on) Movie 2007 Camaro Concept Bumblebee There's lots more on show as well - click here and check out Alexander's full Deviant Art gallery. |

Maketoys have posted some full color images of the first of their three two packs that together make up their take on Devastator, Giant. This first two pack includes Excavator and Bulldozer, unofficial takes on Scavenger and Bonecrusher. They're yellow and black decoed in the style of the Generation 2 Constructicons - by account, a giftset release of the six following later may be in Generation 1 colors. Priced at 10,500 yen and standing 15cm tall, they are reportedly due for a December release. Also in this update is artwork of all six Giant members in color - giving an idea of what the remaining four will look like.
