2005 Boards member xterry has shared with us some more images of the Mastermind Creations Knight Morpher Cyclops prototype. This time, we have for you the first look at this monster of a third party product in vehicle mode. In robot mode he is as tall as a Masterpiece Transformer, and now in vehicle mode we can confirm he is equally huge! He's the biggest third party product to date.
But wait, there's more! The Knight Morpher Cyclops is going on tour and the first stop is Comic Ink in Dublin, CA on 17-18 December. If you're in the area and this guy interests you, be sure to swing by and check it out, and meet some fellow fans at the same time! Read on to check out more images of the Cyclops, as well as some excellent black and white art of the robot mode. |

Igear has updated their Facebook page with an image of their next Mini-Warrior 3rd Party Figure. MW-04 UFO is his name and he will be based on Generation 1 Cosmos. Something very cool to note is that UFO has a space helmet. That is how Transformers artist Guido Guidi depicted him in the recent Transformers Ongoing comic book in issue #12. This might be a great alternative to anyone still trying to track down the limited Hasbro release of Universe Cosmos.
Take a look at the image and sound off on the 2005 Boards! |

The greatly anticipated Transformers Japanese series boxed set from Shout! Factory has gone up for preorder once again - now with a new release date of 10 January 2012. The set, which has suffered a couple of delays, looks to be arriving early in the new year. It collects the three Japan-only series from Transformers Generation 1 that aired between 1987 and 1989 - 1987's Headmasters, 1988's Chojin Masterforce and 1989's Transformers Victory. Well worth a look, and as a bonus, the set includes a limited edition litho!

Disappointed about the lack of BluRay with the sightings of Darkness Prime DVDs this week? TVShowsOnDVD has you covered, with news that Transformers Prime Season One will be released on BluRay and DVD in March of next year! This would be the first time that a Transformers show will be available on BluRay. Aside from the standard 4 Disc DVD set (MSRP of $29.93), there will be a Limited Edition BluRay set that comes with a 96 page graphic novel and will be available for an MSRP of $64.99 when they are both released on March 6th, 2012. The sets are currently available on Amazon.com, for prices that are currently lower than the MSRP.
Check the rest of Shout! Factory's press release after the jump. |

Transformers Generation 1 voice actor veteran, Dan Gilvezan, has released a book entitled "Bumblebee and me: My Life as a G1 Transformer". Dan Gilvezan is the voice for Generation 1 Bumblebee and in the description from the Amazon.com listing it reads: "In the spring of 1984 Dan Gilvezan walked into an audition for a half-hour animated TV series and walked out an hour later with a role in a show that would change the landscape of television in the late ’80s: A show called The Transformers."
"Bumblebee & Me takes you behind the scenes of the original Transformers television series for a first-hand look at the making of a classic. Experience the controlled chaos of the recording sessions, learn the secrets behind creating a character voice, get to know the members of the cast up close and personal." The book is also full of stories, reminiscences, anecdotes and never-before-published photographs, cast list and a complete G1 episode guide. Sounds like a must have for any fan of the original Transformers cartoon series. You can read the full description by clicking the title bar. Additionally, there is a youtube promotional video for the book courtesy of ngsmoov productions, Featuring Dan voicing Bumblebee! Video embedded below for your viewing pleasure. |

IGN.com is reporting that the The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced 15 films are now in the running for Achievement in Visual Effects for this year's 84th Annual Oscars. Among those fifteen are our favorite Robots In Disguise and their Mega Blockbuster, Transformers Dark Of The Moon. There are some tough competitors in the list including; Rise of The Planet Of The Apes, X-Men: First Class and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, just to name but a few. In early January, the members of the Academy's Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee, who selected the 15 films, will narrow the list to 10.
Think the Autobots and Decepticons can pull off a win? The nominees will be announced live on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The 84th Academy Awards will air on ABC on February 26, 2012. In the meantime, you can read the full press release by clicking on the title bar and then head over to the 2005 Boards and tell us what you think. |

Despite BotCon falling on the same weekend, the organizers of the Dairycon says the dates for the 2012 convention won’t change.
TFW2005 Boards Member cbff received the following message from the organizers of Dairycon… "Hello all, Just a quick update to let you all know that we are standing by our plans for April 27th & 28th! While I know that we may lose some of you to that convention down in Texas (believe us, *every* loss is sad), we are moving on with our plans for this year's Dairycon. As many of you know, Dairycon has been an event for those who can't afford to make the trip out to the big show, who can't afford their exclusives, to get together with friends who you may not have seen in a year, and to have some Dairy cow-themed fun... We hope to see you there, but if not; it's all a celebration of the same fandom!" Dairycon 2012 will stay on Friday (April 27) & Saturday (April 28) as originally planned. |

Auto Assembly have released another video from last year's convention - this one is their script reading! Featuring a script by Simon Furman and performances by David Kaye, Gregg Berger, Nick Roche and several attendees, it has many classic moments, including Nick Roche VS David Kaye in the battle of the Beast Wars Megatrons, and Gregg Berger VS David Kaye in a good old fashioned Grimlock meets Grimlock moment! It really was a brilliant script - check out the embedded version below:
Also in case you missed it, check out day one's video - a revolutionary panel with Mark Ryan, the voice of Movie Jetfire and Bumblebee (for the one brief scene at the end of the 2007 movie). Mark Ryan was not able to attend Auto Assembly 2011 in person, but made an appearance through the magic of Skype! |

And now for another Transformers Prime toy sighting! Our friends in Canada ought to start keeping their eyes open when they visit Toys R Us - the ultra-cool Transformers Prime Voyagers have started hitting TRUs in Canada according to the latest news from Cybertron.CA! This first Voyager assortment features the excellent Bulkhead - seriously, he's a fantastic toy - and one of the best Voyager Class Optimus Prime toys ever made, in this writer's opinion. Matrix holder of Cybertron.CA made the first sighting in a TRU in Ontario. Let's hope they make it to the US soon as well!

In these pictures we see two shots of the vehicle mode and one picture with all the accessories for this figure and PP05W Weapon Specialist. This picture also teases us a little, with some of the accessories blurred out in the top right corner.

Matt Tieger of High Moon Studios recently sat down with the Game Central reporters of the UK Metro news site. This great and insightful interview touches on a fair few story and gameplay aspects for Transformers Fall of Cybertron, and addresses how Matt and the High Moon Studios team have really taken a step back and examined how they can take War for Cybertron and make it even better for this sequel. Check out the full interview on Metro's site here.
Key points of the interview include: - Shockwave is the creator of both the Insecticons and the Dinobots. He's a mad scientist and by all accounts major villain in this game. - Grimlock is not like the original Generation 1 cartoon Grimlock - he doesn't go around shouting Me Grimlock smash all the time. He does have a reason for his speech impediment given in game. - Gameplay wise, Grimlock cannot transform at will, instead accumulating rage as he defeats opponents. Once he gains enough rage, he can transform and cut loose. In robot mode, Grimlock fights with his sword, he's a sword and shield guy, no long range weapons - if he needs to fight at a distance, he picks up and throws things - including enemies. - Matt Tieger says originally, Grimlock was not in Hasbro's Aligned Continuity. His part in the game owes a lot to the team campaigning hard to get him in there! - Bruticus is confirmed as a playable character - it's said to be the part of the game where you feel the most powerful. - Vortex is another character who is confirmed to be playable. He's on a level described as a giant climbing frame, with the option there for players to tackle the level mostly as a robot, mostly as a vehicle, or anywhere in between. - Lastly a word on the campaign. This time out, the game is more of a "Cybertron story" with the first and third acts being Autobot centric, and the middle one being Decepticon centric, although by the sounds of it, there's less of a rigid "this is a block of Autobot missions, and these are a block of Decepticon missions" this go round. That's just a summary of the key points that this fan found interesting! For the full review (it's quite the read!) head on over to view the original article on Metro. |

The limited edition Chinese New Year commemorative Optimus Prime from Dark of the Moon has been released in China. Ultimate Optimus Prime Year of the Dragon Edition is exclusive to the Asian markets, and is a redeco of the Ultimate Optimus Prime. One cool feature is the embossed Autobot symbol on the box is replaced with a dragon, to celebrate its association with the Year of the Dragon. Not so cool is the front grill, which is left in unpainted red plastic.
2005 Boards member Sloloris made the sighting and took plenty of pictures of the piece in package. He spotted it in a mall in Guangzhou, China. It retails for 999 RMB (~US$160). |
