We've got a new Transformers Generations Gallery for you now. This time out, we're giving some love and attention to the other new release in the current Generations assortment, Sky Shadow. Sky Shadow is an awesome little toy - very sharp in black and red, with enough remolded parts to make him a unique robot all of his own. He's also a homage to the original 1989 Transformers Victory Black Shadow, himself a Thunderwing remold - as the original was exclusive to Japan, this new toy marks the first time this particular character has ever been released outside of Japan.

The Transformers Facebook page has updated with a new Q&A, this time with Jack Darby's voice actor, Josh Keaton. Josh talks a bit about how previous Transformers human characters influence his portrayal of Jack, and his favourite episode of the show so far (well, actually, all he says there is you've not seen it yet...)
Check out the full Q&A here! |

We've got another piece of official release news for you! Today is the official launch of the Transformers Movie trilogy three pack! The set collects the 2007 blockbuster that convinced us a Camaro could transform, Revenge of the Fallen and the recent billion making smash hit Dark of the Moon. Own all three on Blu Ray in one convenient package! No word on special features, but it seems unlikely.
It's on Amazon now, priced $39.99 for Blu Ray. It's also been popping up in Wal Mart since Sunday, which is where we have this picture from. |

A figure that originally only appeared as a convention exclusive at Botcon and TFCon is now apparently showing up at retail stores! TFW2005.com member xion14 recently found the Optimus Prime with Matrix of Leaership Kreon (from the Transformers-themed Kre-O building blocks line) for sale at his local K-mart priced at $5.
Notably, K-mart did have an offer recently using this Kreon as a giveaway item (the reason Superquad7 knows this is that they had ran out when he tried to redeem his coupon printed on his receipt!). While some may have ran into the same issue, other stores may have had a surplus. This sighting looks to be a way to offer these to customers after the give-away period. |

Our friends and sponsors at Big Bad Toy Store have put up a pair of new listings. The indication is that Sideswipe and Rodimus Prime, who were last reissued a good few years ago now as a part of the Hasbro Commemorative Series, will be reissued once again, this time for the Asian market. Details are sparse right now, but the suggestion is that these will be re-releases of the previous reissues.
We'll keep you informed if any more information comes to light. In the meantime, check out the pre-order pages on Big Bad Toy Store: Generation 1 Rodimus Prime Reissue Generation 1 Sideswipe Reissue |

We've got a Resources update for you now! Seems Wal-Mart have been updating their website product pages with some upcoming releases, and one of those pages includes the official on-package bio for Dark of the Moon Wheeljack aka Que. Check the bio out below:
When he first learned about the laws of physics, Wheeljack took them as a challenge to his intelligence. Laws, after all, were made to be broken. The Autobot technician had dedicated his life to pushing the limits of science. More often than not, his inventions have failed spectacularly, but when they succeed, they often change the course of millions of robots' lives. As you can see, it's a nice throwback to the mad scientist nature of the original Generation 1 character. The bad news is though that we might not be seeing this one until February 2012, if the latest word out of online retailer Kapow Toys is anything to go by (Granted, they are UK based so might not reflect US chain stores stocking goods, but as we've not seen Wheeljack or Soundwave in package yet, or preorders on many online sites, there may be some truth to it). Check out this thread on our 2005 Boards for more information. |

We've got another update from Auto Assembly! Attending the 2012 convention will be Transformers comics inker Stephen Baskerville. For those of you not familiar with Mr Baskerville, he's been known to work with one Andrew Wildman on the art for many great Transformers comics - including the upcoming issue 81 "Regeneration One". Be sure to bring an extra copy of #81 for signing if you're attending Auto Assembly 2012, because along with Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman, that's three of the people responsible for bringing this Generation 1 continuation to you who'll be at the convention!

More new images from Robot Kingdom! This time out, there are images of Dark of the Moon Deluxe Wheeljack - here called "Autobot Que" - Soundwave and Alternity Goldbug in package. Please note that what you are looking at here are the Japanese packaged versions for Wheeljack and Soundwave - the US versions will not include the biocards, and may still call Que Wheeljack.
The new images also give us a look at Soundwave's bio, which we've added to our Resources section: Earth is bursting with information, the very air pulses with radio waves. Worldwide computer networks vibrate with digital secrets. Soundwave collects it all. Every voice is recorded, every birdsong is remembered, every bit of data analyzed. Information is power, and no one knows better than Soundwave how to turn that power into a weapon. |

Good news, everyone! IDW Publishing have furthered their partnership with ComiXology, bringing in a host of new ComiXology apps including a dedicated Transformers comics app. More importantly, IDW is now going to be releasing its comics on a same-day digital basis - the new books will be on ComiXology the same day as the floppies are out in stores, and at the same price as the print copy to boot!
An interesting tidbit, pointed out by Comic Book Resources where 2005 News Staff Orio first heard about this news is that with IDW now on the same-day digital bandwagon, the amount of comics available digitally the same day as they are in print has passed the 50% mark - good progress for digital distribution. Read on for the full press release from IDW. |

2005 Boards member D-Drive has sent us the Diamond Comics shipping list for next week, 21 December! There's only one IDW Transformers comic on the list for next week, the last Transformers comic of 2012. How appropriate at the end of a year when we look back on what has passed and look forward to what is to come, we get a Transformers comic that does just that, as new Transformers creative team John Barber and James Roberts take the reins in the story that sets up for the two new ongoings kicking off in January 2012 with a little story known as Transformers: The Death of Optimus Prime
TRANSFORMERS DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME (ONE SHOT) [has two different incentive covers] (W) John Barber, James Roberts (A) Nick Roche (CA) Nick Roche, Photo Celebrating 125 issues of IDW's Transformers! After Chaos, Optimus Prime's fate was shrouded in mystery. Was he truly gone or could there be a way he had emerged unscathed? Now, Optimus sits in contemplation, in a place he does not recognize as home. And with the cost of the battle finally taking its brutal toll, does Optimus Prime even have the will to carry on? CHAOS changed everything, and Transformers #125 sets a new direction for the Autobot leader... Ships with 2 covers in a 4-to-1 ratio, 4 photo covers for every 1 by Nick Roche |

Good news everybody! Michael Bay's monster blockbuster film Transformers Dark Of The Moon has been nominated for a 2012 Screen Actors Guild Award. The LA Times Envelope awards site is reporting that the film is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture. No doubt for the "Bird Men" scene among others in the movie.
Dark of The Moon has some stiff competition in the form of "Cowboys & Aliens", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, "The Adjustment Bureau" and "X-Men: First Class". Be sure to tune in to the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday, January 29th on TNT and cheer on the Transformers! |

Roll Out Roll Call, the UK's Transformers & GI Joe joint celebration have announced their guest list for the 2012 convention! On the Transformers side, they have announced as guests of honor the team responsible for bringing back the original Generation 1 Transformers comics this July - Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman and colorist John-Paul Bove. They will be joined by Bill Forster and Jim Sorenson, who you might remember brought us a little something known as The Allspark Almanac...
On the GI Joe front, legendary GI Joe writer Larry Hama makes his first ever UK show appearance, along with the team who bring you IDW's new take on Cobra Commander, Robert Atkins and Simon Gough. Roll Out Roll Call is held over the weekend of 10 and 11 March 2012, at the Jury's Inn in Southampton England. Tickets are limited, and are expected to go online very soon! |

More news from the Takara-Tomy Twitter account! Today they have confirmed that Transformers Prime will be making its debut on Japanese television in April 2012. We've known this is coming for a while, since there's never yet been a Transformers series that has not found its way to Japan (though Beast Machines was a close call). Still, the confirmation is great news! Let's see if the exceptional talent that is JAM Project is brought in to provide an opening credits song on the lines of the one they did for Transformers Animated.
The airdate of the show is also being promoted in Japan with pack-in flyers included with the Japanese First Edition Transformers Prime toys and the Dark of the Moon DVD. This additional confirmation comes to you from Snakas. |
