Yet another one of the Japanese friendly neighborhood Primes has been revealed. Mito Prime is the name of this one, based on Generation 1 Hound (by way of his Legends toy). He is the mascot of the Mito region, with a Transformers version of the Tokugawa triple-hollyhock crest as a reference to the history of the area.

More BotCon news, courtesy of the BotCon Twitter account. The one and only Peter Cullen will be on hand at BotCon 2012. For the three people who don't know, Peter Cullen is the voice actor of Optimus Prime in Generation One, the Movies, and can currently be heard in Transformers Prime. Aside from Optimus Prime, Cullen is also known for voicing Ironhide in Generation One and Eeyore in many Winnie The Pooh productions.
Happy by the announcement? Have you come to the sudden realization that this BotCon has three Optimus Prime voice-actors confirmed thus far? Sound off in the discussion board by hitting the link below. |

Once again, Transformers fan site TFND.net has provided us with our first look at Shadow Strike Bumblebee, a repaint of the Robots in Disguise deluxe Bumblebee. The sharp black and yellow deco is highly reminiscent of Dark of the Moon Cyberfire Bumblebee.

TV Shows on DVD reports that there is a new Transformers Prime DVD coming our way from Shout! Factory. Due out on July 31st with an MSRP of $14.97, this DVD is called "One Shall Stand", and features the trifecta of Optimus Prime, Megatron and Unicron on the cover with what looks like Cybertron in the background.
The exact contents of the DVD are unknown at this time, but given the name and the fact Unicron is right there on the cover, expect it to cover the season 1 finale - and possibly the season 2 premiere Orion Pax as well, for the complete seven episode story arc. It's aimed for more casual viewers who might not want to lay out the cash for a full season set, much like the previous Darkness Rising single DVD set. |

A reminder for you friends - tune in to The Hub today at 8:30pm ET | 5:30pm PT to catch the all new episode of Transformers Prime. Titled Nemesis Prime, it is an episode where the title alone tells you most of what you really need to know about the series.

Transformers Prime has made its Japanese debut! The show is accompanied in Japan by an intro made up of clips from the series, accompanied by a wonderfully out of place theme song. According to 2005 Boards member Sprocket the Arms Micron theatre segments are low budget CGI, with basically the three weapons floating around for the whole sequence, so probably your typical omake segment. In terms of voices, Starscream is less Steve Blum menacing and more flamboyant, Bumblebee is the same as ever, and Arcee likes to say "this is / you are the worst" a whole lot.
All the characters also say "Arms Up" when deploying their weapons, and "TRANSFORMMMM!" when transforming, even the Vehicons, which you might arguably have expected from previous Japanese Transformers dubs. Check out the intro and ending credits videos below - notice also the ending credits show a "next time" segment in the credits themselves, a nice touch but not as seamlessly integrated as other examples of the style, such as the Tales of the Abyss anime. |

We've got a bunch more new Transformers Toy Galleries coming your way over the next few days, and we're going to be starting the ball rolling with the newest and hotest Transformers Prime releases. Fresh from Deluxe Wave 3 is the mainline version of the Vehicon!
Every Vehicon knows how likely he is to be dismantled - either by the Autobots, or by a Decepticon commander in need of spare parts. Danger is part of the life for them, and they welcome it. To a Vehicon, happiness is loyalty to Megatron and a warm blaster cannon. So, to sum up the Transformers Prime Vehicon in a single word? Awesome. A total must-buy for all fans of the show, and even if you are not a Transformers Prime collector, track down a friend who is when this one hits and have a play about with it to experience one of the cleverest car to robot transformations in a few years. The Hasbro / Takara-Tomy designers have outdone themselves with this release. Click the link below and check out the full gallery. Read on for a few more of this fan's thoughts on this awesome new toy! Transformers Prime Vehicon Gallery |

TFW2005 member uranusdd has been kind enough to post several new photos of the final Dr. Wu accessory kit for Henkei and Universe Hound.
The kit, shown in package, includes two gas canisters, two different weapons capable of combining, and a backpack mount for both robot and vehicle modes. A pair of missiles are also included for Hound's boxmate Ravage. The 5mm posts on the missiles mean they can be used with your G1 Ravage if so desired. Check out all the new photos after the jump! |

It's time for another look at an upcoming Transformers Prime toy from Deluxe Wave 3 - this time it is the turn of the Decepticon scientist / medic / narcissist, Knock Out!
KNOCK OUT is oily slick; the ultimate salesman. Everyone knows his weapons are dangerous and prone to malfunction, and his installation methods often leave DECEPTICONS scarred and crippled. But who can resist having quantum disintegration at his fingertips? Unlike Vehicon, who made a lot of good first impressions from the very first picture, Knock Out is one of those toys who got off to a bad start with a mistransformed initial picture, which is a pity because he is actually not a bad little toy at all. Decently poseable, clever and full of personality, check out our gallery by clicking the link below and read on for this writer's thoughts on why Prime Knock Out is a worthy addition to your Transformers Prime Decepticon lineup. TFW2005 staff member SydneyY (with help from Aernaroth, Shin Densetsu and Pravus Prime) has helpfully translated another interview for your enjoyment. Originally presented in Transformers Generations 2011 Volume 1, this interview with the legendary Transformers designers Hideaki Yoke & Koujin Oono touches on the very origins of the Transformers line and the entire history of Generation 1, right down to the modern lines. It is a fascinating look into the design aspects behind some of the most significant choices in the run of the series, such as Headmasters. Read on and check out the translation of the interview with the founding fathers of Transformers toys.

Kabaya have brought us a whole range of Transformers gum kits over the last two years - now they are going large. A listing for DX Transformers Gum has appeared on the Sproutoy Rakutan store, due for a release in July with a price of 2,625 for a box of twelve. The packaging shown so far is only a mockup, but by all indications the DX Transformers Gum series is going straight for the big guy himself right away - a new Transformers gum Fortress Maximus. By the looks of things, each box will contain a small Transformer with Micromaster level of transformation (Windcharger is shown), as well as a mini base - and all three mini bases connect together to make Fortress Maximus.
We'll update you once more information on this next evolution of Kabaya's Transformers Gum series comes to light. |

Some pictures have reached us of an interesting oddity from Hasbro Asia. Fat Toys Corner Blog reports that Hasbro Asia has released a coin box to hold the commemorative coins that they have been issuing alongside the major releases of their region: MP9 Rodimus Prime, MP10 Optimus Prime, MP11 Starscream, Jetwing Optimus Prime and Encore Devastator. Interestingly it uses the English names for them all, in spite of MP9, MP10 and Devastator being released under their Japanese names.
The box itself features a Matrix design on the front of the box, and slides apart down the middle to reveal the contents. While a nice idea it does mean that the already nice packaging for the coins will need to be discarded to place them in this box! |

Our next new Transformers Toy Gallery for you is the third and final member of Transformers Prime Deluxe Wave 3, Hot Shot!
Hot Shot spends most of his time trying to prove himself worthy of being called warrior by the older AUTOBOTS. Unfortunately, this often means either showing off, which bugs the more experienced soldiers, or rushing headlong into danger, which requires a rescue. He's got a lot of potential, but also a lot to learn. A leading character from Transformers Armada - 10 years old this year! - Hot Shot makes a return to the Transformers line with this remold of Deluxe Wave 1 Bumblebee. He's using his blue deco from Transformers Cybertron since the role of yellow sports car Autobot was taken, and he's looking rather fine with a shiny blue deco and a new head sporting a visor that can be moved up or down like on the original Hot Shot. Open the link below to view the full gallery, or read on for our review. Transformers Prime Deluxe Hot Shot Gallery |

Here is an interesting oddity unearthed by TFW2005 member Monzo - it seems that while most of the Cyberverse toys at retail are getting one or two line bios, there actually exist longer bios for the Cyberverse toys - these longer bios being pared down (perhaps for space reasons?) to the ones we see on the packaging. A bunch of them, for Bumblebee, Arcee, Vehicon, Breakdown, Evac, Mirage and Soundwave - the latter three Movieverse characters released in the Prime Cyberverse series - have surfaced on a Hasbro Toy Shop listing. There seems to be no sign of longer bios for Ratchet, Cliffjumper, or the Commander Class at this time - but who knows if and when such a thing might come to light?
Read on to view a copy of the extended bios. |
