Artist for the Transformers Collectors' Club "Flash Foward" comic and IDW's Godzilla comic, Matt Frank (aka 2005 Board member TerraDestroyer), has stopped by to show us one of the prints he will be offering at Botcon 2012. This print features Fall of Cybertron Grimlock munchin' and crunchin' some Insecticons.
Will this be one of the prints you'll be picking up in artist alley this year? Sound off on the 2005 Board. |

IDW Publishing has sent over a press release for their upcoming Transformers Regeneration #81 comic, due out in July.
Writer Simon Furman and legendary TRANSFORMERS artist Andrew Wildman are back to their original roots with all-new stories, beginning with the free TRANSFORMERS: REGENERATION ONE #80.5. Starting after 1991’s TRANSFORMERS #80 comic epic conclusion, the free issue picks up as OPTIMUS PRIME watches over a CYBERTRON that hasn't faced MEGATRON for decades. But that peace shudders to an end and dives headlong into July's new series. “The original TRANSFORMERS saga is back—with a vengeance!” exclaimed Furman, “‘epic’ doesn’t cover it!” Click the title bar to read the full press release! |

We've seen some pretty interesting Transformers Crossovers over the years. The Transformers brand has been fused with everything from Marvel Superheroes, Star Wars, and Disney products to the sometimes strange, like Kerororscream. Well, now thanks to a preorder on Robotkingdom, the weirdness level in crossover Transformers have been taken to a new level. Garigari-kun and Takara have teamed up to make a popsicle Transformer. If you're unfamiliar, Garigari-kun is an ice candy sold in Japan. This popsicle-former, called GARIGARI-kun Robo (Cola flavored), features the mascot for the brand that turns into a delicious frozen treat. If you're sick of the same old car and jet Transformers, this will be one to lock on preorder.
You can check out an advertisment for Garigari-kun embedded below. |

Site sponsors Robot Kingdom have posted the news you have been waiting for - a first look at several new and upcoming Transformers Prime releases! All of these are from the Japanese assortments, so these are the Arms Micron versions. These are the toys you've been hearing about these past few days so read on and check out the images! On show here are our first ever looks at:
AM-19 Gaia Unicron - awesome looking design that presents the tall look of the character from the show with the big horns on his shoulders, and skeltal demonic wings. One of the images shows what looks like some kind of combination with Arms Micron / Voyager Powerizer Optimus Prime? AM-15 Darkness Megatron - appears to be the Voyager as was originally speculated, but also comes with two Arms Microns, one of which is named "Gora II" and forms an arm cannon and the other which resembles Ratbat. Images demonstrate it variously forming a wicked looking sword and demonic wings for Megatron's back or jet mode. The winged robot mode seems very impressive and reminiscent of the silhouette of Robots in Disguise Megatron / Car Robots Gigatron. AM-16 Jet Vehicon - appears to be the same basic toy as the regular car Vehicon, but "reshelled" with the jet mode parts. United EX Jet Master Prime Mode - Japanese release of Power Core Combiners Skyburst and Aerialbots. United EX Combat Master Prime Mode - Japanese release of Power Core Combiners Bombshock and Combaticons. United EX Roller Master Vs Chopper Master - Japanese releases of Power Core Combiners Icepick and Searchlight, respectively. It's worth noting that the images for the United EX releases are the same Hasbro stock images we have seen before, so as these are early solicits it is entirely possible that the final decos will be different. Transformers Prime Arms Micron series AM-17 Autobot Swerve and AM-18 Airracchnid are both shown in silhouette, as are the accompanying Microns for everyone that is not Darkness Megatron. They all use the silhouette of Bumblebee's B.2 Arms Micron so again, are almost certainly placeholders. |

TakaraTomy have updated their Youtube channel with two really fun videos promoting their Transformers Prime Arms Micron line. In these videos, we can see what one can do if you have multiple Arms Microns and the different combinations one can make. Toy develpers Mr. Hironori Kobayashi and Mr. Takashi Namase discuss the Arms Micron line in the videos (No subtitles or translation yet). Good news for those thinking about preordering the recently announced individual Arms Micron figures.
Also, Autobase Aichi is reporting a shop listing for the individual Arms Microns at Rakuten, the lineup will be: Wave 1 (July) Micron A (Combiner Sword) Micron B (Combiner Sword) Micron C (Combiner Sword) Micron CL 2 (Cliffjumper's Micron) Micron Baro/Bulo 2 (Skywarp's Micron) Micron Zida 2 (Terrorcon Cliffjumper's Micron) Wave 2 (August) Micron D (Combiner Shield) Micron E (Combiner Shield) Micron F (Combiner Shield) A, B and C appear to be Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet's Microns as they form "Star Saber". Wave 2 "Combiner Shield" Microns are yet to be revealed. Check out the videos TakaraTomy posted below! |

The most recent of these articles contains five pages of the unreleased War Within: The Age of Wrath #4! With art by Joe Ng and Marcelo Matere, get a glimpse of what you may have only read about in the scripts sold by Simon Furman at conventions.
Additionally, Matt has a few more updates for Dreamslaves. Read on to learn about Ratchet's red crosses, Stat work and stealing from Devil's Due! |

Maketoys have updated their site with new images and information on their Mobine - unofficial custom take on The Fallen. The numerous sockets around the toy have finally been explained as being Power Core Combiner sockets - Mobine when transformed forms two tanks, evidently one of them becomes a mass of guns and other weapons that can attach to Power Core Combiners using their combiner ports. Presumably looking at that last colored image the weapons also combine to form limbs for a main figure, which we are assuming is the second tank that has been shown (yet to be seen in color).
As for the colors, Maketoy has diverged from the usual Fallen style of black and brimstone for a more military deco. Perhaps like their green Giant a black version will eventually follow. |

Coming to you by way of many online retailers we have a look at most of the releases in the Takara-Tomy Transformers Prime Arms Micron single releases. The single pack versions of the Arms Microns feature a healthy mix of repeats of the existing Arms Micron releases such as Cliffjumper, Skywarp and Soundwave's partners, plus some new designs. The images we have here tease at how the individual Arms Microns can not only stand as individual releases, but combine with each other to form new weapons to "Arms Up!" your Transformers with.
If you like what you are seeing - and I most certainly do! - you might be interested to know that these are up for preorder by way of the fine people at our sponsors Robot Kingdom, Big Bad Toy Store and TFSource. |
