Here's something that is completely and utterly cool that we thought was worth sharing with you. A pair of clever Japanese model car enthusiasts have built an RC Car that is more than meets the eye. This creation of Kenji Ishida and JS Robotics is capable of transforming from a fully operational RC car into a robot - and when we say a robot, we mean one that is fully capable of moving under its own power and even throwing punches like a boxer. Some real time and effort has gone into bringing this one to life - a possible sign of the future of high-end Transformer toys, ones which can transform by themselves and even move for themselves...?

Comic Book Resources has posted an interview with James Roberts and John Barber, writers for IDW's More Than Meets The Eye and Robots in Disguise titles respectively. The very in depth article discusses what they're doing with the Cybertronian race as a whole and then proceeds to discuss the next three issues of both books. Read on to find out more about Metalhawk and his motivations, The Red Rust Contagion, The Dinobots, who we will be seeing with Orion Pax and the Decepticon Justice Division. And that's just the tip of the iceberg my friends! To top off the article, preview for More Than Meets The Eye #5 and Robots in Disguise #5 can be found as well.
We have so much to look forward to out of these titles and there are a lot of spoilers to possibly avoid here. Click the title bar to read at your own risk! |

Here's a new release for those who missed out on some of the Reveal the Shield Legends Class toys the last time out. Kabaya and Takara-Tomy are furthering their partnership by releasing five EZ Collection toys (Legends or Cyberverse Legion to Western audiences). The five toys to be released are EZ Chronicle Generation 2 Optimus Prime, Generation 2 Megatron, Rodimus, Prowl and Starscream. They may be unaltered from their previous release in the Transformers United EZ Chronicle series, but indications are that the five may actually have slight variations in their deco - at the very least, Starscream's gray sections look darker and shinier than the last time out, and Rodimus looks a little shinier too. Could these be metallic versions like the Kabaya Micron series of ten years ago?
Check out the listing on Amazon Japan. They are due to hit Japanese grocery stores at the end of July this year. |

The third party company, Fansproject, has been relatively silent on upcoming projects as of late, but tossed this teaser image on their Facebook page which simply reads "W002 Warbot QTY: 6 PCS". You can view this image by clicking the thumbnail.
What could this mean exactly? Is this possibly referring to the evil Warbot Defender seen in the comic packed in with the first Warbot Defender, the Heartmaster that's been in development, or is this something new entirely? Whatever the case, Fansproject always seems to have a way of enticing some excitement within the Transformers community. Feel free to join in and share your thoughts with the discussion already in progress! |

After many months MIA on the 3rd party scene, Fansproject is back with a preview of their next figure, WB-002 Warbot Steel Core, aka Heartmaster. Although prototype photos had been released long ago, it seems Steel Core is close to release, as indicated recently on Fansproject's Facebook account. Members of Fansproject Core are now able to access new artwork and renderings of the Warbot himself, and his unnamed companion.
Fansproject has also indicated that members of Fansproject Core may have a chance to pre-order Steel Core early. Registration for Fansproject Core is free! While past Fansproject figures had been inspired by official Transformers characters, Steel Core's inspiration is less transparent. Head over to the discussion thread to speculate on who this may be, whether new or homaged. Staff Note: This is an unofficial product not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara/Tomy. |

Ken Christiansen has updated his blog with concept art for Transformers Prime Ironhide! Christiansen actually came up with this design over a year before Transformers Prime footage was shown at SDCC.
Now that the Cyberverse toy is out, Christiansen has posted 2 images of his Ironhide design, showing Ironhide in vehicle and robot modes. Here's what he had to say: "As always, the way my brain works, I want the vehicle completed first. I want to see the vehicle cues, and get a sense of weight, that can be translated into robot form and characterization. And colors of course. I turned it in originally all red, (G1 all the way, baby!) but feedback suggested all black to match the current movie version. I may have done all black with the yellow and red stripe, but then Archer suggested a two-tone look, and that sealed it! What a great idea, and I have seen it used since on other versions of Ironhide. I'm super proud of this design - I think it captures G1, with Movie, and a sense of something new. Of course, I had help, with Aaron Archer's input, and my man crush Eric Siebenaler at Hasbro was directing me on this project, he took the legs of one of my designs, and combined it with the torso of another drawing I'd done, and outlined the movie style gauntlet guns, and did a quick redesign of the gut, and gave it that cool shape where the Autobot emblem sits. Then I took that image, and painted it out, and that's what you see above." See the Ironhide concept art for yourself, after the jump! |

High Moon Studios have relaunched transformersgame.com to promote the upcoming Transformers Fall of Cybertron! The slick new Fall of Cybertron themed site currently features the following:
You might also wish to draw some conclusions from the character pages on which of these we get to play as in game - Optimus Prime has "Air Strike" under his bio, while Megatron has "hover", Bumblebee and Shockwave meanwhile just get their respective factions. Does this imply that of the four, only Optiimus Prime and Megatron will be playable? Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available, and in the mean time, check out the new look transformersgame.com Check it out by clicking here! |

Here is a real oddity to share with you - 2005 Boards member Sidecutter of online store Captured Prey sent us over these images of an item currently being solicited. The supplier deals in CHMS products, so we're assuming this is one of theirs.
As you can see from the pictures, it's a cage for Classics / Universe Ravage. But not just any cage, as it is based on the cage that the Autobots imprisoned Ravage in after he was caught in the pilot of the original Generation 1 cartoon, More than Meets the Eye. The set even comes with a key to match the cage, based on the one that Hound taunted Ravage with (and later conveniently dropped to let the Decepticon free himself all as a part of a plan to lead the Decepticons into an ambush) The downside is this piece is likely going to cost $40 as it is made by hand from ABS sheet and rods. Which may well price many fans out of the market for this quirky bit of Generation 1 inspired fun. |
