For tonight's new gallery I'd like to draw your attention to the latest addition to our galleries by our photo staff member SydneyY. Here for your enjoyment tonight is the recently released in Japan Megatron Darkness, from the Transformers Prime Arms Micron series. Megatron Darkness is the debut of the Voyager Class Megatron mold from the Transformers Prime line for the Japanese market, and features a cool darker color scheme and two Arms Microns, Gora II and Hades. The overall effect is a much more demonic / dark warrior looking Megatron, more in line with the fully Dark Energon infused version seen in One Shall Rise than the US release Megatron.
Check out the full gallery by opening the link below: Transformers Prime Arms Micron Megatron Darkness Gallery |

News reaches us this morning from Florida, as 2005 Board member turbojack, is reporting that you can now purchase the Transformers Universal Studios Exclusives from Universal Studios Florida. These figures include repaints of deluxe Dark of the Moon Optimus and Bumblebee. Sadly, no Evac as of yet. These figure were sighted in the T2 ride gift shop.
Could this be further evidence that the Transformers Ride will be making it's way to Universal Studios Florida? Time will tell. Click the title bar to speculate |

Thanks to IGN, we have news that mobile game developer ngmoco is creating a new mobile card game based on the Transformers franchise. While not much is currently known about the project, rumor is that the game will be in the style of ngmoco's previous game Rage of Bahamut, "which at one point occupied both the iOS and Android top game slots."
For now Transformers Mobile gameplay details are scarce, but it seems likely that the title will build on Rage of Bahamut’s core gameplay mechanics, including a strong quest system, card upgrading and frequent live events. The game will be powered by DeNA’s Mobage mobile social game platform. Players will be able to play through unique Autobot and Decepticon campaigns to explore a new Transformers storyline. Like the studio’s other socially-infused games, Transformers Mobile will largely revolve around battling friends and checking in on a daily basis to take advantage of the steady stream of planned episodes and promotions. |

Thanks to TFW2005 Contributor SydneyY, we now have a first look at upcoming Transformers Pin sets that will be released in Japan this November and will be released in two different styles.
For the G1 and Beast Wars fans, there's the Traditional Set of 19 different pins (20 per box) and includes pins of the Autobot, Decepticon, Maximal and Predacon faction logos (two different styles for the Autobot and Decepticon logos), as well as the Quintesson and EDC logos, the Matrix of Leadership, the Transformers logo in red or purple, Cybertronian Bumblebee and Thundercracker, and stylized pins in the style of Jazz, Optimus Prime and Red Alert. For the Movie fans out there, there's also a set of 15 designs (15 per box) including the Autobot and Decepticon logos (in both plain Silver and Silver with Red trim), Barricade's police badge, Ratchet's ambulence symbol, several N.E.S.T. patches and Sector 7 symbols. |

After a brief break we are back with the fourth of the four new Deluxe Class toys in the Asia Exclusive Generations Deluxe Assortment. Last but by no means least, we have an advance look at this homage to Generation 1 Springer, who will be coming to Toys R Us later this Fall as a part of the "China Import" exclusive assortment.
Springer here is a very cool reuse of the Hunt for the Decepticons Tomahawk mold. He features a new head which is modeled on his more recent appearances in the IDW comics. He's also got a new sword accessory which complements his look nicely. The lanky build of the mold really screams "Springer" to me, and while the mold's movie-line origins means this one is not for everyone, my personal feeling is this is an ideal addition to a Classics collection. The design fits in well with the likes of Drift and Wreck-Gar and looks absolutely fantastic in helicopter mode. He will be one worth seeking out once his assortment makes it to the US, if you have not already got him on import. Open the link below to check out the full gallery, which includes a selection of comparisons with the unofficial Springer toy, the FansProject Warbot Defender, contributed by 2005 Boards member Orodruin! Pete Sinclair (aka Pete@BotCon) has swung by to let us know that he'll be making an appearance on the upcoming Travel Channel program "Toy Hunter", where the crew of the show visit Pete's personal office to talk about not only the Transformers Collector's Club, but the Transformers fandom.
I will be appearing on the Season Premiere of "Toy Hunters", Wednesday Aug 15th, 10pm on the Travel Channel. The episode premieres right after the "Best Sandwich in America" Finale. Though the company I work for, Fun Publications, is not associated with Toy Hunters, the segment did take place in my office so viewers will get a look at where I work and we do spend some time talking about the Transformers Collectors' Club and the amazing Transformers fandom. Toy Hunter is a show where "Jordan Hembrough, a renowned toy dealer and ultimate toy hunter, takes toy picking to a new level as he takes on collections from some of the most popular cities on the East and West Coasts. His reputation for having the most sought-after, rarest finds has labeled him the "in-demand dealer" that everyone wants to have evaluate their stash." Check out the teaser shots from the episode by either taking the jump/clicking the story title, or by visiting the Travel Channel's website over here. |
