When things aren’t good for the Ford Falcon… who you gonna call? Transformers! Yep indeed, here’s a chance for you to turn a Ford Falcon to a Cybertronian.
Ford Australia and High Moon Studios are joining together to get their fans to customize the Ford Falcon. According to the official Facebook page of Ford Australia: “To celebrate the launch of the new video game Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Ford and Activision are giving you the chance to create an Aussie Transformers Ford Falcon. Over the next four days we’ll run polls inviting you (our fans) to vote on a selection of characteristics, which will make up our Falcon Transformers car.” The first poll ask the fans, should a Ford Falcon be a Transformer would it be an Autobot or a Decepticon? Your votes will shape the final art created by High Moon's own art team. And the Ford Falcon will get customized according to the preferences getting the most votes. Ford Falcon sales are going down these days, but hopefully this promotional campaign will do the trick. You can read an article on this news and visit Ford Australia Official Facebook Page to vote. |

For our next gallery update, we have a look at the other July release in the Japanese Transformers Prime line, the Jet Vehicon! The Jet Vehicon is a "reshell" of the regular Vehicon - in other words, it takes the basic robot but changes out the car vehicle panels for flight mode ones. It's a nice variation on the regular Vehicon, and together with the First Edition which was a different design completely you have a cool (if a little pricey) way to assemble a squad of three Vehicons without any two being the same. This one is another in a growing number of releases that seem to be unlikely to see a US release at this time.
Check out our full gallery by opening the link below - and give some big thanks to 2005 Boards Photo Staff member SydneyY for providing these photos for us! Transformers Prime Arms Micron Jet Vehicon with Igu Gallery |

Thanks to a thread on ACTOYS, we have ourselves a first look at two new redecos coming to the Asian Exclusive Generations (Or as it's being referred to via retailers, "GDO") toyline, and the mold choices might surprise you as we're getting new redecos of Energon Omega Supreme and Optimus Prime.
It is possible at this time that they'll be in color schemes similar to last year's Year of the Dragon Optimus Prime, as the image does list the toys as "CNY" (or Chinese New Year) possibly meaning these two toys will be Year of the Snake themed. It is unknown at time what the prices, release date, or actual deco these toys will be in. |

The cool black redeco of the Autobot Scout comes in a window box, like the Voyager Class toys, to better show off the new deco and according to the text on the tweet "to help set it apart from the regular release". Here is a look at the Transformers Generations Brawn from the Asia Exclusive Transformers Generations, or GDO, assortments. Unlike the other three in the assortment (Megatron, Powerdive and Protectobot Hot Spot) Brawn here looks set to remain as an Asia Exclusive, as when the Toys R Us China Import assortment of Voyagers was shown at the San Diego Comic Con, Brawn alone was conspicuously absent. And while we proceeded to see in-case and official pictures of the other three, Brawn was nowhere to be seen.
What we have here for you is a picture of Brawn from the cross-sell of the Protectobot Hot Spot packaging, which we believe is the clearest look we have had at this First Edition Bulkhead remold to date. The picture shows that Brawn will get a Generation 1 inspired head, like the Deluxe Class Cliffjumper, and a fair bit of gold / orange detailing to go with the deco. The new head and deco definitely recalls the style of the original Brawn, and dare we say that the new head does not look completely out of place on the body as originally feared. Click on the thumbnail at left to check out the image. |

A recent TV special in Japan went behind the scenes at Takara-Tomy, showing the place where the magic happens - the offices of the Takara-Tomy Transformers design team. As well as showing the offices, viewers were treated to a view of the desk of Transformers Masterpiece series designer, "Mr Starscream" Shogo Hasui. On his desk you can see a quartet of Masterpieces - Masterpiece Lambor (Sideswipe) test shot alongside the released Starscream and Convoy (MP11 and MP10 respectively) and an Ultra Magnus proof-of-concept custom, built from a Generation 1 Ultra Magnus trailer and then attached to an MP10 Convoy. It is in no way an indication that a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus is in our future - but it is a good indication that if a few things line up, then we just might see one. After all, it is a good sign that the lead designer for the Masterpiece series happens to have this proof of concept on his desk, no?

Linkin Park, known for their musical contributions to the Michael Bay Transformers Movies, posted a blog update of the upcoming Linkin Park Edition Soundwave with official images. This is what the band has to say:
"Linkin Park and Hasbro are collaborating on a super-limited LINKIN PARK EDITION SOUNDWAVE. It's a new and exclusive model based on the original 1984 toy, the one I grew up playing with. It includes Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw, and Ravage. There will only be 2000 units, available at SURU and comic/hobby shops. Hasbro is currently showing a sample of it, inside the Transformers booth at Comicon. Here are some pics from Les, the designer. Shout out to Mr. Hahn for overseeing it's golden glory on our end (no, it's not real gold). The LINKIN PARK SOUNDWAVE will be available later this year." The images have been mirrored here, and feel free to check out the previous images that were posted from San Diego Comic Con here. Are you looking forward to this release? Be sure to post your thoughts! |
